  1. I agree that PC was stronger to the end, however, when you look at the Jackson County's Bench and you see 3 of your starters sitting on the bench for several key moments of the game while Capps was out, something just don't add up. If the Jackson County starter's cannot play the whole game then they need to run, run, run, run....................I agree that there should be subs in situations however, after watching JC play for 2-3 years I nor anyone that I have talked with understands their coach and his substitutions. The system is good for the teams around our district however, not good for the JC guys. Does anyone have an opinion or anyone shed light on why Gainesboro's coach pull's players off the court when things are going well?
  2. how do these teams match-up friday night
  3. I agree. Does anyone know why the format has been changed?
  4. Does anyone know the district tourney brackets yet ?
  5. has anyone heard about jackson county and pickett county game friday
  6. Hey Senator, what is your opinion regarding the coaching of the great talent that is at JC...There seems to be alot of different boys on the floor and no rhythm can be maintained
  7. Hey, TitanJo, Upperman was hitting everything, Jackson County struggled with their shooting....However, it looks like a repeat for the JC Blue Devils from last season, they have talent, skills, desire and styling "coaches" however anyone who ever played basketball knows that you must choose 5 main players and 2 subs, you must never sit down you main 3-4 players at one time to sub your bench. In last nights game 2 minutes into playing time they were already subbing. Looks like a long season for the neighboring Blue Devils......................
  8. cumberlandrim', I believe you have your coaches mixed up......Coach Brown coaches for the girls, Coach Flynn coaches for the boys......Coach Brown subs his players one at a time for the 6th and 7th player until about 1 minute left in the ballgame then if he is ahead by 20 he cleans off the bench, however, Coach Flynn with 1 minute into the game cleans off his bench.......go figure
  9. what about Cookeville's Valerie Owens 5' tall 100 lbs & the arm, bat & smarts to do it all w/ the heart of a lion
  10. Thanks dore83 for clearing that up. as far as the intent of the runner cannot be known,it was obvious that the runner crossed her arms over her chest to protect herself from the collision. if a player is aware of the immediate risk enough to protect herself she should give herself up as the catcher had clear control of the ball & maintained possesion
  11. you are blessed to have umpires who KNOW or ENFORCE the rules
  12. take exit # 288 in Cookeville. turn north (left if on I40 east) (right if on I40 west) this will be Willow ave. appx 2 miles to the intersection of Willow & West Jackson turn left on West Jackson. appx 2 miles to Cane Creek Sportsplex on left.
  13. TSSAA clearly state that if a play is being made at a base, the runner MUST attempt to slide. The runner must also attempt to avoid a collision if at all possible. As the catcher had clear possesion of the ball and was 2ft, not 5ft in front of the plate, the runner clearly should have attempted to slide, and not intentionally take out the catcher, in hopes of the catcher dropping the ball due to injury. I happen to know the catcher sustained a concussion. My question would be, did the runner do this intentionally or was it just an accident? Did the runner ever attempt to slide? Or did she just run into the catcher?
