  1. Final: CCS 2, Notre Dame 1 CCS scores on a PK in the second half.
  2. Thanks, Hoya75, for providing what appears to be a more reasoned, balanced assessment of the game. I wasn't there, but have followed Notre Dame in the past and know a lot of the players. It's easy to view a soccer game, which is going to be hotly contested if played well, through the prism of your team's interests, but you managed to overcome that and present a balanced view and I appreciate that. Well done!
  3. Notre Dame scored on Baylor two years ago, and three years ago, albeit in losses. The information on Chattanoogan.com was wrong.
  4. Notre Dame 2, Baylor 2 (final score)
  5. Great goal by Jamey Stone with about 10-12 minutes left for the win by my alma mater.
  6. Notre Dame 3, Ooltewah 0, at Notre Dame.

  8. You're welcome. My son plays for Notre Dame. As for Thursday, if the CCS officials deemed Tullahoma the tournament champions, that's good enough for me.
  9. You are correct, except the CCS officials scheduled ND to play Tullahoma. Maybe they gave Tullahoma the option to play a championship match or be named champions. Or maybe they would have been named champions either way, given your point. In any event, congratulations to Tullahoma. It was a little confusing for the Notre Dame players, who merely wanted to play another match. BTW, OwlsGK30, I enjoy watching you play, you're strong in the goal.
  10. In that case, congratulations to Tullahoma. Since Notre Dame was not to advance past FRA, I guess I can understand that logic. I guess Tullahoma felt like they didn't need to play then, but I know my son and the other Notre Dame players were ready to play. If CCS deemed them champions, so be it. Hopefully it will be a good game Thursday.
  11. Well, my son plays for Notre Dame and they were ready to play. He and his teammates were told Tullahoma did not want to play. There's no doubt Notre Dame was ready to play. I don't know what your coach told you. Notre Dame did not forfeit.
  12. I am not sure why FRA left, but I think it had to do with the condition of the field. But as I said, other teams continued to play on it, and Notre Dame was ready to play on it.
  13. The coach may have been concerned about the condition of the field, it was muddy in many places, there had been a lof of rain, but other teams were playing on it, and Notre Dame was ready to play on it. Tullahoma wasn't, or at least didn't. Tullahoma may have thought they already won the championship since FRA was to advance instead of Notre Dame, but CCS officials set the Tullahoma-Notre Dame matchup in the championship match. Since Tullahoma declined to play, it sounds like a forfeit.
  14. Notre Dame and Tullahoma were supposed to play at 4:30 in the championship match, but Tullahoma decided to forfeit, so it looks like ND is the champs. Notre Dame tied FRA in one bracket 0-0. FRA won a MLS-style shootout (only one goal was scored by either team among the 10 participants), but FRA decided to head back to Nashville without playing in the title game, so the CCS officials advanced Notre Dame. Notre Dame was ready to play, and the Tullahoma players were at the field, but the Tullahoma coach told the Notre Dame coach his team would not be playing. Notre Dame still has not given up a goal on the year and was ready to play Tullahoma but for whatever reason Tullahoma wasn't up to it. The two teams are supposed to play Thursday at Tullahoma.
  15. Notre Dame 1, ECS 0 in championship game Notre Dame 2, Beech 0 Notre Dame 4, Cookeville 0 Notre Dame 2, Oakland 0 Notre Dame doesn't allow a goal in the tournament ECS 1, Blackman 0 Not sure of all the other scores
  16. Actually, Notre Dame won both games against CSAS this year.
  17. From a Notre Dame parent, let me say it's been fun and interesting reading the posts of Hoya75 and JStone14 throughout the year. All the teams in Division II East have some great players, making the competition really tough and special. The three teams not going to state probably all deserve a better fate, but Catholic and Webb certainly earned their positions. Good luck to Catholic and Webb at state, and congrats to McCallie (my alma mater) for making it as far as you did.

    FRA

FRA players or supporters need to quit saying the Notre Dame game was a fluke. It's been going on all year. Makes you look cheap and weak. Bad, in other words. They beat you in a title game. You should give them credit, not make excuses.
  19. You're welcome, stayNskool. I'm not saying how Robby will play this year, just what he has done in the past. There are a lot of great players in Chattanooga and Robby or any goalie will have a tough task. Robby got out to soccer practice late because of basketball but says the field players look good. They do have to replace some very good players.
  20. StayNskool, your information is incorrect. Trey Meyer was Redoubt's keeper but chose not to play one year. At about that same time, the U-16 Redoubt Generals folded, and Robby Miller, aka Glu, became the goalie for the U-17 Generals. Trey Meyer was not playing at that time. Robby was the full-time starter, playing up a year. They proceeded to win four tournaments in a row, in three states, and had their best showing ever at state with Robby in goal, finishing third. Trey decided to rejoin the team shortly thereafter and they have been splitting time ever since. That does not make Robby the second best keeper in Chattanooga, nor does it make Trey the best keeper in Chattanooga. They are both excellent. Robby has played for Redoubt since he was U-11 and never has needed to "find a team where he could get minutes." He has always gotten minutes and even now gets equal time on Redoubt with Trey, one of his friends. I can assure you he is not "willing" to back up anyone, but he understands the situation at Redoubt and respects the coach greatly. If you wonder how I know so much about Robby and this situation, I am his father. I did not want to leave your misinformation unanswered. Good luck.
  21. PSAFour, who are you and who do you play for?
