Hmmm. I'd like to go again soon regardless of where they hold it but here's a thought. For Spring Fling to "settle" anywhere, the city/area has to promise more than just good baseball fields (how many were used this year for all divisions?) They also have to be able to handle track, softball, soccer, etc; players, coaches, refs/umps, parents, and fan accommodations; administrative details and guest services; and so on. My vote, Nashville and surrounding areas. (Abovementioned colleges, expanding out to Volunteer State, Cumberland, and Lebanon if need be for baseball and/or track... although M'boro has its good points too.) I'm guessing there's a few soccer fields around too (Brentwood/Franklin or Hendersonville/Gallatin/Goodlettsville), softball fields (almost anywhere) and well, you get my point. One downside of Spring Fling moving to Nashville would be visiting teams trying to deal with the continuing interstate construction (and that would put a crimp in my plan...)

webcoach, The final was CHS 10- HHS 5 but it was over way before the 7th inning. Not taking anything away from Clarksville but ever have one of those games where anything that could go wrong, did go wrong? Looked like one of those for the Commandos.

Wilson Central over LaVergne (don't know the score) Hendersonville 2 - Beech 1 #11 pitched for Beech and pitched a great game. He was matched pretty evenly with #2 from HHS but that big old DH got a hit in the 6th to pull ahead. Way to go, Commandos! Also wanted to congratulate BHS for the 4:00 game. It's tough to stay strong and come back but the Bucs completely dominated. Good luck next year! Sonny Gray did not pitch tonight. I overheard a parent/fan say that they were saving him for the second game if there was one (but that doesn't sound right...) Good luck to both Wilson Central and Hendersonville.

Well, this isn't really a funny call but it sure was a strange situation. Kid up to bat hits far into left, over the fielder's head. He runs after the ball which has rolled up against the fence. All of a sudden, he jumps, turns around, and high tails it towards the dugout, twice as fast as he was going after the ball. He literally almost "tags" the runner who was going from 2nd to 3rd. Seems there was a fairly ticked off skunk on this side of the fence who was only a few feet from the ball. Oh yeah, the call? Ground rule double.

My thoughts and prayers are with Jackie, his family, and his team.
