Add Columbia Academy to the tournament.

Add Pope John Paul II to the tournament. I only have a few spots left. If any team wants in they need to fax the entry form in has soon as possible.

Add Goodpasture High School to the Tournament. This puts the total at 48.

I got a phone call from them, but have not recieved the entry form. When I talked to them on the phone I felt they were in, but have not heard from them since. I still have spots and will put them in once I have recieved the entry form.

Add Science Hill High School to the tournament. I have 28 teams for sure that are going to play on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I was thinking about possibly playing on three fields on Wednesday as well if I can get some teams that would be interested. We could charge a gate and pay for umpires out of the gate and not charge any additional entry fee. If you would be interested let me know as soon as possible. It would count as part of the tournament and you would not have to count more games on your schedule. If there is enough interest I will contact Dave at the parks department about the use of Veteran's Park.

Add Greenbrier, Ravenwood and Siegel to the list. The total is 46.

Add Boyd Buchanan and Tullahoma to the list. This puts the total at 43.

Add the following teams to the tournament. Lebanon - Dickson County - White County - Walker Valley - Father Ryan - Arlington - Dobyns Bennett - Powell. This puts the total at 41. I will take the next 11 for sure and may be able to take a few more if we can get the use of another field or two.

They did call. I assume they are in, but I have not recieved the information sheet from them. I just check the mail and I got an additional 7 teams in the tournament. I will put them on here in the morning. Going to football practice. Coach Griffin

I have talked to several more coaches on the phone. If you would like to enter please send in the form as soon as possible. Several schools that have always been in the tournament have not entered yet and I don't want them to be left out.

Add Coffee County, Wilson Central, Creekwood, Houston, Cordova. Had a couple of more calls yesterday from interested teams.

Add the following teams to the tournament. Davidson Acadmey Riverdale Millington Antioch Bledsoe County I have had several calls from new schools. If you have been in the tournament in the past and want to participate again, you need to send in the entry form as soon as possible. I can wait on the check, but I need the entry form to hold you a spot. I think it will be full by the end of the month.

Add Blackman, Buckhorn (AL) and Cookeville to the tournament.

The fifth annuam Tom Corbitt softball tournament will be held April 28-29, 2006 at the Allens Sports Complex on airport road in Waverly, TN. The tournament is sponsored by the Waverly Umpires Association and McEwen High School Softball Team. Entry fee is $125.00 all teams are guaranteed a minimum of 4 games. Wilson Central St. Cecilia White County Blackman Boyd Buchanan Kingsport Dobyns Bennett That would put the total at 19. If you want to enter please do so as quick as possible. I expect it to be full by the end of the month.

If any young men or women on Coach T would like to become a TSSAA Baksteball official now is the time to start thinking about it. The Middle Tennessee Association will start having meetings an training classes in October. You must first register with the TSSAA and then the local association. If you are interested and would like more information please call Andy Griffin at 604-6688 for more details.

If anyone on Coach T would like to become a TSSAA Basketball official in the Nashville Area please give Andy Griffin at call at Hendersonville High School. We are always looking for good people that would like to officiate. You would start out in the Middle School and J.V. games and work your way up. I am going ahead and posting the dates for the Commando Classic now because I have been getting a lot of calls about the date. I have had calls from Ala., New Jersey, and several here in the state. I will send out entry forms in the next couple of weeks to teams that played last year and give them a couple of weeks to enter. After that I will open it up to new teams. The dates are March 16, 17, and 18. It will be the same format as in the past. Thursday night games will not count toward tournament seeding. If you play Thursday, Friday and Saturday you will get at least 6 games. If you play only Friday and Saturday you will get at least 4 games. I got a call that 3 players from Hendersonville were on the team. Jessie Bain, Casey Teal and Jenna Basile. I hope the call was right because I contacted the players like the coach ask me to do and make sure they were available that week. I would hate to call one of the players and tell them it was a mistake.

We had a M.V.P. that came from the last place team one year in district 9AAA. The coaches voted and this is how the vote came out. Casey, Kassie, and Ashley all had great years. You could have picked a position player from several teams and that would have been a good choice also. The district M.V.P. is voted on before the district tournament and has nothing to do with what place you finish. Kassie got the tournament M.V.P. and was well deserving.
