I don't have anything against Avery's players as a whole, but some of the things the folks of Avery County have said about Roan Mt. turn my stomach. These people need to get a life and quit thinking they are better than everybody else. Cloudland's football program is superior to theirs and they need to get over it.

Yeah, we've got a 337lb. tackle thats gotta play both ways and another 310lb. tackle thats gotta play both ways. We are gonna take some thumpins this year. I'm still in disbelief. After what I saw yesterday, I can no longer brag on this message board. Heck, Hampton might come to Roan Mt. and dismantle us unless there is improvement in the attitude of these boys. There is no charisma or enthusiasm. You can have the best athletes in the world, but if there is no committment, theres nothing.

When you make a committment, it all starts on day 1. When you are competing for a state championship every practice counts. I was there yesterday and all I saw was complaining about how hot it was. Kids today are just too spoiled. They want victory and glory, but they are not willing to pay the price. The way of a champion is the way of pain. In a few minutes I will be going to the practice field to see if things get any better. I offered to put the boys through some navy seal conditioning but they were too lazy. Lazy people don't win at much of anything.

Thanx CoachLogan. I've been real close to this program for 13 years. I've shed blood, sweat, and tears in the name of the Cloudland Highlanders. I've even risked my own life because of a heart problem to play with the Landers. I love this community and Cloudland High School dearly and it almost brings me to tears to think these boys are gonna let the opportunity of a lifetime slip through their hands. I hope they can recover some of the momentum they had and get their priorities straight. THats why South Pitt won three state titles. They had the heart and determination to prepare and overcome the odds against them. Cloudland needs to learn from this.

Today was the Cloudland Highlanders first day of practice, and to everyones shock I'm going to say it was a big disappointment. Only 29 players showed up and none of them gave the effort it takes to win a state title. O.K. people on here. I guess I was wrong about how great the Highlanders are. To be honest, they were pathetic. I know its only the first day but dead lice was falling off the whole bunch. I'm starting to get the idea that the hunger is gone. These boys don't care if they win a state title or not. I was living a lifelong dream through these guys and they don't even give a crap. I think the seniors are burn out on football. So krp and company, you just might be right. In fact I believe we will only go 6-4 the way things are looking right and Coalfield might eat us up in the first round. I wish I could take back all the cocky comments I've made on here, cause i really look like and idiot now. I am still a Highlander through and through but the lack of character in this bunch really disappoints me.

Nothing can be done about last year. This is a new year that requires new faith. As far as me fussing with my own town citizens, I get along with anyone that supports the whole town. Instead of blasting the moron that said Cloudland was overrated, Maynerdette blasted me. What kind of Highlander fan is that? Just an old woman lookin for trouble I guess.

I know enough about football to know that Cloudland is going to have their best year ever. You've got to have faith, meow. They will get the job done and even if they didn't I'm man enough to face the music on this message board. I think everyone takes this board too seriously anyway. All the talkin is really done on the football field.

I like the movie Rudy. It reminds me of myself. I had nothing going for me when I first started playing football (5'4 115lbs.) By my senior year 170lb. noseguard. I just love the movie.

Its a shame that Big bad Wartburg has to blow so much hot air over how they are going to beat Coalfield. On the other hand Cloudland will be playing for a state championship something Wartburg is never going to play for. You big mouth Wartburg players need to chill out. Coalfields gonna beatcha.
