  1. Your getting to easy Waco, Tyler Nottingham,James Weatherly were from Bloomingdale heck Steven Moten's mom taught at North while he was there. If you really want me to i can give u a big list of names both past and present. It's irrelavent to the game but i can do it. I didn't think you'd be that easy though.LOL
  2. There plan wasn't to shut down North and send them all to D-B, North has alot of room and not enough students.D-B has to many students and not enough room, the plan was to make like a vocational type thing and have students going to both schools. FTBALL89 i wasn't talkin like D-B was untouchable with the Tri-cities all stars thing. It was kinda a inside joke and i was cracking on them about how they had good ballplayers from all over sullivan county playn for them.
  3. I applaud the respect in your comments, not alot in here do that.I agree this is a tough one to call, these two teams match up really well with each other.I guess alot will depend on which North team shows up, if they come out with some fire in their butts and have some things happen along the way to keep that flame burning for 4 qtrs it could be a tough ballgame. If they come out flat to Boone they'll get beat early, mental mistakes could be the difference. It wouldn't hurt North if they would throw some slants in there every now and then, to keep the linebackers and safeties a little more honest.Teams been crowded them quiet a bit and playn gap assignment defenses, that means linebacker has a gap he's assigned to and thats his first responseability. With slants coming in behind him he can't be so quick to stuff the gap.He either has to freeze for that first step to block slant lane allowing room for run, or keep giving up the slant. That or the saftey has to adjust leaving one less in the box.If corner adjusts he opens up for deep ball, if no adjustments are made u got 1 on 1 in open field all night long.Done right it's hard to stop cause defender must come through receiver to break up play or give up position 4 something else.Problem North has with this is their qb is not very tall, tough to get that quick hit over them big D-linemen.Don't know what inspired all that oh well
  4. LoL u never seist to amaze waco But i did tell the truth
  5. I've said it before, i think Betsy has a very solid ballclub with tons of potential. They have speed, size, and some depth but they seem to be out of sync at times and lacking consistancy. They have plenty of weapons to make big plays with, but they seem to want to rely on that. They should be able to drive it consistantly with running from qb and rb,play action, and short passing game.By that i mean 3 to 6 yd passes and giveing there wr alot of 1 on 1 situations on the outside, they make that man miss and it's off to the races. If not your still hitting high% passes and moveing the chains. When the defense tightens up then go over the top. They have all the weapons on offense to be a awsome team, and the defense is solid enough to keep them in games. But the offense needs to have more consistancy and ball control to help there D out. They need to cut down on the mental mistakes"penaltys, turnovers" and try and force big plays but let them develope and trust that they will come. They have the potential to be extremely hard to stop.I've not seen Greenville play but it sounds like there similar. If Betsy can control the ball and clock get pressure on the qb from the outside and keep him contained not letting him have time or get to the corners. They could win big, what worries me is Betsy's secondary, they cover the deep ball pretty good, but seem to leave alot of room underneath.Greenville beat D-B a couple of yrs ago with screens, draws, and short passes. But if Betsy holds there ground in the middle and brings the heat from the corners, keeping containment they shouldn't have a problem.Betsy has alot more weapons on offense than South in my opinion so i'm gonna say Betsy 28 Green Devils 20. Good luck both teams!!
  6. I just misunderstood and was just curious as to why. About the game i'm going with the Raiders 21 to 13
  7. LOL Waco that is true story though, but it was 15 or 16 years ago.He also lived in the city at the edge of Stone drive and guess which school he went too. D-B, his sister transfered to North after that because of it.That was embaressing to the whole city.
  8. My bad it just sounded like it from a reply in the D-B and Tenn. High posts and also in the Betsy and North post.
  9. Hey mikey65 why do you have such a problem with North?
  10. THSViking2004, i know about Danny and coach Wampler, like them both and wish them well. I was just picking at Waco and some of the other D-B ers. As for Virginia schools, there classifacations are different than Tenn..They only have A, AA maybe AAA but i dont think so. Some of there little single A schools have a enrollment that would fall in 3A and maybe even 4A in Tenn.Plus there is alot of holding back a year makeing for alot of 19 year old seniors, where as in Tenn. you could have a 17 year old senior, and it's perfectly legal in Va.Good luck to both teams Friday. TRI-CITIES ALL STARS 35 Tenn. High 10
  11. Posted Today, 09:32 AM {" Pigeon Forge was competitive in their region the last couple of years. They have had some good coaching, and I think given time this guy will do a good job. As far as PF they just don't have the kids with Football speed, or gamebreaking players. There is alot more to football than having great players, but it sure helps. Coaching is alot more than x' and o's. Its changing kids attitudes, parents being dealt with, money, equipment, maintenance, and tons of more things I'm leaving out. A first year coach battles many things, but once he gets his feet wet he will grow. Give him time. The Players need this stability, the staff needs this stability, and the community needs this stablility. "} This is my point, this coach has already lost this team. All the players that have already walked off, all the questioning and the lack of effort shows that this guy already lost the respect and confidence of these kids and much of the community. They won't play hard if they don't believe in him and the reputation from what's already taken place will carry from year 2 year even before future seasons begin. If they were showing improvement and u could see signs of players and the community believeing in him, then he has the oppertunity to build a successful program in the future. As it is there not showing any improvement and actually seem 2 be going backwards and most have done lost faith in him and his system.PF needs a coach who will bring energy and a renewed enthusiasm to the program.
  12. Why don't D-B give back the 3 or 4 starters they have every year from bloomingdale, and then see how great they are!!!!! LOL haha
  13. High school school ball is ALMOST all bout coaching. There's alot more to coaching other than x's and o's. Just a kids attitude or cofidence in his coach will have a big bearing on how hard he plays. They have to believe in there coach if not u get 4 or 5 playing hard for various own personal reasons, and the rest doesn't put forth nearly the amount of effort their capable of, unless there getting all the breaks or everything is going their way in the game. Because lack of confidence or believeing in the coach that he will make the right adjustments or find a way to get em back in the game or pull it out. When things dont go there way or a team makes a couple of big plays on them, there heads drop, kinda give up, and say here we go again"it's over now".Unfortunetly PF has never had very good coaching in football and they don't now.PF may not have bigtime playmakers but they have had in the past and still do, enough qaulity good solid ballplayers to be much more consistant and competitive in there region.
  14. I believe alot rides on the 1st qtr. After the thumping they took last year if the Indians jump on them early, i think they quit. But after the way Tenn. High finished it's season last year and the way they have played up to this point this year. If they hang with D-B through that 1st qtr or catch a couple of breaks in it and start truly believeing they can play with the Indians then it can be a battle till the end.Clarck will try to jump on them early while there still in awe from crowd and playin D-B and take the fight out of em quick, letting the D-B mystic take over "like he does to all the local teams".That 1st qtr will determine blow out or close game, either way i believe D-B wins.
  15. North is like any other school they have kids and parents who show class and some that don't.I'm not going to say anything bout the game other than both teams played hard and at times was a physical game. Both teams got breaks and had oppertunities. The only thing i had a problem with was sending a man to blindside and take the kicker "who happened to be the qb" out on every kickoff. Anybody knows that when a guy first kicks a kickoff he's on one foot and off balance when he comes down and completely vulnerable much like a punt. To have somebody t-off and come immidiately straight for him wide open from his backside and just cream him was classless. And was meant to do nothing but try to hurt him or beat him down.It was by design that kid was coached to do that.If it wasnt meant to hurt the kid they would have sent somebody from the frontside or somebody head up, but it wasn't it was from the backside and he drilled him in the back every kickoff no sooner than his feet would hit the ground. He got flagged for on the last one but only after the coaches had raised the refs attention to what was going on.That was a classless move and if a parent had a problem with someone trying to hurt there kid then i don't see what the big deal was giving one of your coaches a earfull about it.Your own coach stated that he wasn't the one who made that call.I've never had any problems with anyone personally from Betsy and have always found a mutual respect with any i have met from there. I have great respect for Betsy it's program and the people there, but for whoever did make that call i have no respect for and it was a pitiful and classless act.As for the Betsy team, good luck on the rest of your season and u guy's do have a very good football team.
  16. All i can say is its a good thing sullivan north isnt still there. They would have one it all last year and wouldve won it again this year!!!! LOL just messing with u guys, sure do miss playing some of yall though. Good luck
  17. It is against the rules, but it's a stupid rule.
  18. Guru, i can't believe u didn't even say hi,or read my prediction. lol
  19. North has always had enough talent to be competative, and was right there in all there games but one last year. They lost some really good players last year, but also have alot of really good players coming back. They r a very solid ballclub from top to bottom and have a little more depth than most think. They can pass but havent had to, and their secondary is much improved. This game shapes up alot like last years both teams coming in with about the same records and schedules.I look 4 a game alot like last years, North moved the ball all up and down the field but kept shooting itself in the foot. That will be the difference this year, this team has the right attitude and has a coach that truly understands much more to the game than x's and o's.They won't make the same mistakes as last years team did and lose games they should win. They understand what energy and momentum means to the game.North will finish it's drives this year, Betsy will make some big plays, but will they make enough? North 28 Betsy 21.
  20. Since Sullivan North is new to the conference, and i'll be watching all their games.Tell me some players to watch for from other teams.
  21. At least two,but they have showed they have a chance. The junior class did win the county as freshmen, and the senior class only lost 14-0 as freshmen to Tennessee High in a good game. That same year they won the J.V. game.Last year they played even with East in two scrimmages. The varsity did beat Central last year, and had a war with South loseing 20-13.What's all this mean, nothing really, but it does show that it is possible.
  22. Sure i do,but they will have to have alot of things go there way.
  23. That's my team though, i gotta cheer them on.
