I thought someone got on Coacht and talked about Clarksville Academy giving Rossview a run for its money in your jamboree. If Rossview had that much trouble with a 1A program how will they compete with a program like Clarksville High?

I hate to admit it but, it looks like the Devils could wind up 0-2. After watching the replay on TV (had to work) I just hope we can run some different plays that will get us into the endzone.

powellfan, I graduated from Halls and dang proud of it. I still cheer for the devils and always will. I know they got waxed by Sevier Co. but I'm still behind them and like I said I always will support them. But I also cheer for Webb School of Knoxville. Why? Because they have beaten Powell Pussycats the last 6 times they have played. I also cheer for McCallie, Central, CLinton and anyone else that is playing the Powell Pussycats that particular week. Hiv, what matters are games of record. Are you so ignorant that you are trying to convince me that winning a jamboree, 1 quarter, 15 minutes running clock carries the same importance as a big rivalry game (i.e. Pussycats v. Devils), a region game , a playoff game, a championship game. No, you d.a. (and that don't stand for district attourney), it does mean a hill of beans. Now do you want your players to compete, heck yea. I remember watching Gibbs beat Central in a jamboree when I was a sophomore. Gibbs didn't win two games that year,BUT THEY BEAT CENTRAL IN THE JAMBOREE. I bet the coach at Gibbs didn't put that one on his resume. Baseball player, were you the backstop?

Why does Maryville win - because they have a system that fits their players and they execute it better than most other teams in this state. You don't have to have great players to win. You have to have good high school players that play every single play like it is the most important play of the game, someone that knows his role, and does the things he HAS to do to win. Yes, the devils got waxed tonight by a better team. And they will prolly get waxed again this year by a better team. But there is one thing fer sure - they will give everything they have to win and you will know you have been in a game when you play Halls. And they will get better as the season moves along. They do not have the weapons that Central, Powell, Maryville has. But they do things the right way. And HTV if you don't like it, stick it where the sun don't shine and rotate on it.

powellfan, You might be right, because Webb has beaten the Devils by a score of 42-0 in the last two jamborees combined score. But the records of the two schools for the last two years are 0-0, because they haven't played each other EXCEPT in a jamboree where the outcome doesn't go on a coaches w/l record. Unless I have missed something, Powell is 0-2 in regular season games that count on a head coaches record for the last two years.

I don't believe Coach Julian would back down from playing Webb/McCallie or any private school.

Ask Meskee why they haven't played Halls in the past.

powellfan, How many state championships has the Panthers won in football - 1 less than the Devils. Halls doesn't schedule private schools, they schedule 5A schools like Seveir Co.
