  1. yeah, those visor throwings will cost you the game every time. i think before you go blaming your coach, you should maybe look at the athletes he has to work with. i haven't seen pc play but i think they are probably still a few athletes away from competing for a top spot in region 6. i will say though, if bradley is throwing visors and such things, he's headed down a long and lonely road. the best way to coach a defense is to show no emotion or intensity. that's how you get players to respond. yeah right. get real viking fan.
  2. well, the cats held on to the ball and the game was never close. hammack looked as good as he has all year. in the first half alone, he had 166 yards on just 9 carries. wayne co played physical on defense and huntland never moved the ball. it was a great game to get the cats back on track and hopefully we can hold that momentum through the rest of the season.
  3. i think mp will run the table but i don't think they will win in the playoffs. region 6 is down across the board. i think ca is the only team to improve since last year. i hate to say it but i don't like region 6's chances in the playoffs.
  4. if the cats don't beat themselves again this week, i see us gettin the w. i'm not sayin we are better than ca or mp, i'm just sayin there's no way we will win with 5 turnovers. if we turn it over again this week, we'll lose again.
  5. i have tried to find some positives about last weeks game against ca and what i have come up with is the fact that ca never really truly stopped wc rush offense. the cats had some very costly fumbles, i think six in all and fumbled a couple of onside kicks. wayne co was deep in ca territory a couple of times in the first half driving when we fumbled so ca didn't stop wayne co on the field on offense in the first half. on the other hand, ca got the turnovers they needed to keep us off the score board. another positive is that our defense settled down in the second half and did a much better job against ca's offense. say what you want but ca tried to score until the bitter end. they ran the same plays with the same players in the second half as they did the first. i know for a fact that ca's starters were in at the 3 min mark in the fourth cause i saw ca's coach get mad at a wc player for tackling ingram on the sideline at that point. they also threw a couple of bombs before the starters came out. so the point is, ca beat our buts but it could have been a lot closer. on the other hand, i kinda figure mp is quite a bit better on defense than ca. ca's defense was not very good. wc just played that bad. wc was killed with the sweep and i imagine with the speed of mp, they will try to make a living with the toss all night. altogether, last week was good for the cats. it was a huge reality check and now the cats understand that we need to play together to beat a good team. as far as a prediction goes, i think i'll pass on this one!
  6. on defense: 1) passive linebackers 2) no penetration up front 3) no help from the corners, pass or run offense: 1) slow line that quit blocking after the 1st quarter. (cj got tackeled by five players on one play within three yards of the line of scrimmage. so basically, the whole side of the line forgot to block. and then the same thing happened next play and continued on through the night. hammack showed some heart but he's not enough by himself.) 2) no passing offense (ca sent one man to twin recievers but we couldn't get the ball out there.) 3) fumbles (2 inside the 20 and 4 overall i think. plus 2 fumbled onside kicks.) the x factors: 1) no guts 2) obviously the players did not listen to anything the coaches said this week about ca's offense because they didn't stop a single play in the first half and looked totally confused all night. 3) HOMECOMING (if you ever want to look stupid, just pick a good team to play at homecoming. it never works out very well.) 4) injuries, injuries, injuries. no, no wait, we didn't have a single player out i don't think. to be honest, the game wasn't even close as the score. ca scored at will in the first half and wc just fumbled the game away. wc had two killer turnovers inside the red zone which would have possibly made the score 27 to 21 in favor of ca but instead, we just gave them the ball. ca had no defense yet we could only score once. ca also covered 2 of 3 onside kicks. my only question is why was ca's coach thinking keeping ingram in so late in the game? there was no point in that. yeah, his stats look a little better, but if he had gotten hurt, ca's season would be over. the risk wasn't worth the reward. it makes no sense to take those risks not to mention the fact that it's pretty classless, although that's pretty common for ca. good luck to ca the rest of the season. cats, you've got a lot of work to do but the season is still young.
  7. when you have two teams as different as these two, it's hard to pick a final score. should be a good game.
  8. i see wayne co winning this game by a touchdown. i've been told ca can throw the ball pretty well and wc's strength is not pass coverage but i think hammack in the middle will be enough to stop the bulldog pass. also, hammack may be the best running back wayne co has ever had. he seems to be unstopable at this point. if he keeps running the way he is right now through the rest of the season, he will probably have the single season record.
  9. I THINK THE BCS COULD USE SONNY MOORE!!
  10. i think sonny moore's poll on the tssaa website is pretty good
  11. i would say that our best defense is hammack running the ball. over 300 yards in 1 and a half games, that's gotta help! i'm not saying weather our pass defense is good or not, but what are yall judging our pass coverage on? we've played one game in a monsoon and another agaisnt the worst team i've ever seen? i think hammack's speed at safety will be up to the challenge of stopping ca's pass attack next week. i'm not saying that ca wont throw for some yardage but i wouldn't be surprised if cj had at least 2 picks.
  12. i would figure the cats will win easily again this week.
  13. the biggest test will be if cwood can keep from scoring 50 on zion.
  14. mc/ca: whoever is at home. mp over huntland by 14 pc over cornersville by 14 wc by 28
  15. hammack had 14 carries for 154 yards and a td. i kinda figure that had something to do with the win. lewis and wayne co both made early season mistakes but i think the best team won. there was some great hits and big plays in this game that made it much more exciting than the score implies. it was a fun game to watch.
  16. both teams seem to be down from the last few years. i was told lc looked good early and then fell off later in the game against hickman co. i think the cats can win this one but we will have to play pretty good ball to do so. wc by 6
  17. I REALLY DON'T SEE MP HAVING A CLOSE GAME UNTIL MAYBE THE SEMIS OR THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME THIS SEASON. I THINK THEY ARE PROBABLY JUST TOO TALENTED FOR THE REST OF THEIR REGION 6 OPPONENTS THIS YEAR ALONG WITH EVERYONE ELSE, UNTIL THEY HIT TROUSDALE CO.
  18. wayne co is as strong in the weightroom as we have ever been. the problem is speed up front. our linemen are not exactly fast and cj is a finness type runner who is good inside but great on the corners. that could be a problem along with depth and the skill positions. the cats definately have to have someone step up at the linebacker position also. by far though, the biggest concern is filling ruddle's shoes. he's a huge loss for the cats. no one will step up and fill his role but luckily all we really need is someone to hand the ball to cj!! this region seems to be a complete toss up right now. mp, wc or mc could easily walk away with the region this year. it's just too early to tell.
  19. qb by far in my opinoin. he has to know what everyone is doing.
  20. word has it that legion88 can bench about three of you! cwood is a no factor this year, just face it.
  21. its hard to say who is the best region without knowing what every region has but i think that the top three teams from region six could make it to the playoffs in any region. i dont know that region 6 contains the best team in the state in 1a but i do know there are some way better than average teams in the region. mount pleasant, moore co, wayne co, and cwood should all look pretty good this year.
  22. he had a kickof return for a td against us last year but other than that, he just ran out of bounds a lot. top three are mp, wc, cwood
  23. saying not to use your back when powercleaning is like telling someone not to swing a baseball bat with their arms. even though you know that you swing with your hips, when someone starts to get tired, bad habits occur. trust me, i know all about the effects of doing a powerclean improper. i messed up a disc in my back doing them the summer before my junior year. i had to play through it for two years and now four years later, my back still hurts when i lift something heavy or run long distances. their are other workouts to gain the explosiveness ones needs to perform well. i didn't do cleans for my last 2 years and my senoir year alone i had about 125 solo tackles at outside linebacker.
  24. i found power cleans to be very helpful in bulging, herniating, and rupturing discs in one's back
  25. Fugly, do you really think that getting on coacht and spreading rumors about these kids doing drugs all over the state is helping in any way? it looks to me that if you really wanted to help you would either talk to the kids or the coach about the problem, not tell everyone over the internet. it is easier to handle these situations when less people know about it. this is a situation that needs to be handled privately and not made everyone's business.
