The only one of that bunch that was really that good was Capps. The best in the last years and probably the last 20 was Stephen Thomas. Played 91-94. About 185 and ran about 4.4. Gained over 1500 yards as a senior and scored around 25-30 TD's. As a Junior gained over 1000 and something like 15-20 td's. Went to Murray St. and played a year. Was something very special.

They have played one team in common, Humboldt, Dresden won and Westview lost so no Westview would not be undefeated if they played the same teams as Dresden, they would have at least one lost.

I agree that Westview has played a much tougher schedule than Dresden and Westview does have some talent, not lack they have had in the past but still very good. Dresden and Westview have 1 common opponent and Dresden has scrimmaged 2 of Westview's opponents, Obion Central and Huntingdon. Dresden and Obion were pretty much even and against Huntingdon, Dresden had some good moments but Huntingdon pretty much controled the scrimmage, like they usually do to everyone. I think this is going to be a very good game, there is a lot on the line as well as a HUGE rivalry. If Dresden can start to win some it will become even bigger as a rivalry. Hopefully both teams will come out of the game injury free.

westtn2004state, how can you say Trenton should have won? I see that maybe they could have scored, but that only makes in 14-13, the extra point is no guarantee. If you really watch the game, besides one drive where Trenton took it down the field and scored Dresden pretty much controlled the entire game. They should have scored on their 1st drive where they had it 1st and goal at the 8, and missed a FG. Then they had one or two holding calls that ended a couple of good drives. On Trenton's last 2 possessions, they got close because of bad play by Dresden's punt team. I know that is very important aspect of the game and if Dresden wants to compete and go deep in the playoffs they MUST improve that area. I just don't see how you would say that Trenton should have won. I think that the totals yards was something like 330 Dresden to 150 Trenton or close to that. Good luck to everyone.

I think what you are seeing is people not from Dresden or people who don't know anything that are on here bashing other schools.

Great post Chargerman!!! I know one thing that the people in Dresden have nothing but respect for the Westview program. They don't always like them but they do have A LOT of respect for the program. It is going to be a great game. Should be a packed house maybe the biggest crowd ever at Rotary Field and I hope both teams play hard and injury free.

WesCharge, I have to agree with you at this point and it looks like it will stay that way baring any serious injuries, that Milan and Huntingdon are the best 2 in west TN in 2a. There are some other very good teams but I don't think any have the speed, strength, and overall talent of those 2.

I don't know which way this game will go. It is going to be a hard fought game for both teams. I think the team that makes the fewest meistakes (fumbles, ints. blocked kicks) will win. I've heard that soem of Westview players were kinda banged up after the game with Huntingdon. Is that true? I guess you could say every team in the state is kinda banged up though when you get to week 6. I think Dresden has some adavntages in certain areas and I think that Westview has some in other areas. Should be a good one and PLEASE everyone quit talking trash on here, I don't care where you are from, just go out and play!!!!

WHo are the top Freshman in West TN? I know of a few, Chris Donald of Huntingdon, Flowers kid at Dyer Co., Matt Hewett at Dresden. Who are some others and what do you guys think of these players?

I don't care about this stuff, I just read it for entertainment. But there are A LOT (MOST OF) people here from South Fulton talking trash. If you want it to stop then quti posting anything. Even when you are trying to say you are not talking trash you are, with post like "let your pads do all the talking" as well as others. The best thing for both teams or anyone other team for that matter is to quit posting anything about the games they are going to play. I figure that for the most part the people posting don't even play that much with a few exceptions. Do both teams a favor and quit posting about this game.

Better yet, who are you? There must be some really bad hatred toward your "former school". And byt he way to show how smart your reply was about going to games all that was said was that you didn't go to Dresden's games and no one had worn #58 AT Dresedn in quite a while. It didn't say that you didn't go to any games or didn't ever wear #58. I do have a question for yo though. If you make 6 figures and all the stuff you said why do you bother to get on here and blast high school football teams? Doesn't make a lot of sense. I'm trying to think back as well to see if I can remember anyone who went to play college football from Dresden in the last 15 years or so, and no I don't remember very many and none that played LB. Could have missed someone but don't think so since I don't really keep up with them a whole lot. Hopefully if you post in the future in will be positive things instead of blasting people. Remember this, what goes around comes around and it usually comes back a lot worse. That could happen with your great business.

Devil53, I have to say that was a good post. I don't understand some people on here, some from SF and a lot form other palces trying to badmouth their opponent before they play. All it does is get them fired and more intense and focused than they were.

You have to be kidding, Trenton only had 93 yards rushing and 54 passing. If they had any chance it was because Dresden gave it to them. Trenton is no cupcake. They have beaten UC and even though they are down they would kill SF. Think what you want but I didn't see anyone running #5 down on that TD run did you? Didn't think so. The game will be decided Friday night on the field and not on message boards, but I don't think some people on here realize the difference between 1a and 2a. IT is a A LOT!!!!

Chargerman, Westview may beat Dresden this year, I don't know. But Dresden has beaten Westview in the past. It hasn't been since the rivalry has been restarted in like 2000 or whenever but has happened. Dresden and Westview didn't play for several years in the 90's so it had to be in the late 80's and I think it was pretty even series. Westview has a lot of potential but you have to wonder about their mental aspect of losing 4 straight games with a young team and about to lose their 5th straight to Huntingdon. I don't see anyway Westview beats them. Good Luck and hopefully things will get better.

Hey if you are saying no one has scored on your first team defense, well there are several teams that can say that that have played a lot tougher teams. Milan-probably, Huntingdon-probably, I think only Humboldt scored 1 time against Dresden's defense, the others I think were off turnovers. To say that no one will score on your defense all year is crazy!!!!!!!!!!!! I say that over 45 points are scored on it in the next 2 weeks between Bruceton and Dresden, and it will probably be a lot more than that!!

I think SF wins in a rather close game. I would not be surprised to see Bruceton pull it out just on the mental edge for the fact that they have won so many over the years. Great game, SF better not think it is in the bag. Maybe this was on another thread but: Don't know if I'm right or not but didn't SF get scored on Against Gleason and Fulton City? How can you say that the defense hasn't gave up a point? Just wondering.

wescharge, I'm not on here to down westview, but they had it coming to them. Remember 2 years ago when Westview played Union City? Well Westview was up something like 35 to 7 with about 5 minutes to go with their 1st team in and threw a halfback pass, if that is not running up the score I don't know what is. I was there and it did happen so don't say that it didn't. I guess when you only beat UC once every 15 years you do things like that though. THat was a lot worse than what OC did, yea maybe it wasn't the right thing to do, but hey don't cry when your team has done the same thing several times.

SFFan please reply as to why you are constantly on Dresden about anything that you can dream up? 1st it is the schedule and honestly SF has the weakest schedule to date of anyone around, and now you are saying they are weak. Why? Have you seen them play? Probably not, you go to SF games. SF will find out one way or another in about 2 weeks if they can play wiht people in 2a. Worry about SF.

The stats in the paper were all wrong. I think that Humboldt was given credit for a int. return and fumble return of about 150 yards total to their rushing stats. Humboldt only had 1 drive over 20 yards and it was at the very end. Dresden dominated the entire game other than turnovers it would ahve been 35-7. I know turnovers are part of it and if Dresden wants the compete with some other teams they must eliminate them.

SF will beat FC and be 4-0. Bruceton will be tough just because they expect to win but with the loss to Halls, bruceton lost some of the mental edge tehy had over everyone else in the region. Good Luck.

SFFan, you sound really confident. Who has South Fulton played this year, let me see, Fulton Co.(they've already fired their coach so that let's you know how bad they are), Ballard (I've heard from people in SF that they weren't anything like they normally are), and Gleason ( who is getting better, but will probably go winless this year as well). I really don't know who is going to win, but I wouldn't be giving out bullentin board material to Dresden. They just beat Humboldt, who I know is not what they used to be, but they are still year in and year out a lot better than South Fulton. Dresden is a lot more physical than they used to be simply because they play 2a and yes there is big difference between 1a and 2a. Hopefully both teams will be undefeated when it gets here but it is still 2 weeks away.

There has only been one game so far. who knows who has the best line at this point. Tonight is going to tell a lot about Dresden. If their line lives up to its potential then yes they can have the best line. But you know what they say about potential, it means you haven't done anything YET.

NO58LBK, are you from Dresden? I've seen you post several times about them and it all seems to be negative. Did you play there and not like the coaches or just don't like Dresden? If you played when was it? Just curious
