  1. Wow I really missed this one. I thought WC would have played a much closer game. I don't think I've ever seem them so flat. Coffee Co played a very good game...very few mistakes made by the Red Raiders. They did exactly what everybody saif they would do....use their speed to their advantage and try to stuff the WC offense from running up the middle. They didn't really need much of a pass defense ... WC couldn't connect when they really needed to. WC was full of mistakes tonight. CC took the opening kickoff and made a very nice drive and took about 6 minutes or so off the clock and went up 7-0. WC came back with a decent drive but bogged down somewhere around the CC 35. The first quarter was over by 7:13 pm. WC's defense started playing much better and it seemed the momentum was shifting to WC. But WC couldn't completely capitalize on their oportunities due to WC's ...dropped passes....fumbles... etc etc. WC even blocked a punt (Morgan Wilcher) around the CC 20 but could do no more than fall back and miss a long FG attempt. The last possession of CC when CC scored just before the half was the spirit breaker. It looked like the score would be 7-0 at the half but CC made a real nice and fast drive and scored from about 30 yards out with 3 seconds left. (More on that pass later). The third quarter was a different game...as Mr Pedo said..CC dominated. WC could do no right and CC could do no wrong. CC get two more scores in the third. The second drive only took two plays...scoring on a long TD pass. Other than that the WC team keep CC from making much progress for the rest of the night but WC was so far down that the desperate passing plays would no longer work. Glad to see Mr Shane Wilcher scoop up a fumble a run it in from about 50 yards out to keep it from being a shut-out. About the pass before the half....I'm thinking the QB and two or three linemen were beyond the line of scrimage when it was thrown for the TD. I don't think officials like to throw flags when it raining...make the game last too long. Congrats to CC and go and see if you can make region 3 look a little better next week.
  2. Its a "dumbing down" thing. Kinda like letting people go through HS graduation becasue they showed up at school enough days. What a joke. ...but I'm really proud for the team thay they have made the playoff again. A real improvement from where we were.
  3. Last time they did that (Cookeville game 2004) they played in a downpour and the next night (Friday night) the rain had stopped and all had begun to dry. Some will never learn.
  4. And futhermore..... I'm predicting the score using this foolproof (or foolish) formula: Average of CC scores and average of WC opponents(averages totaled and/2) = 21 Average of WC scores and average of CC opponents(averages totaled and/2) = 24 Predicted score: WC 24 CC 21
  5. Let's try Coffee Co: 1). Number of games your team has scored 21 points or more____ 2). Number of games your team has allowed one score or fewer____ 3). Number of games your team has won____ Coffee Co 1. 5 2. 1 3. 3 Total 9 Na. It's not working.
  6. 1). Number of games your team has scored 21 points or more____ 2). Number of games your team has allowed one score or fewer____ 3). Number of games your team has won____ Warren Co: 1. 6 2. 3 3. 4 Total 13 I Don't think this is gunna work.
  7. Coffee Co always seems to have Warren Co's number. Last year Coffee Co only won 2 games. One of those was Warren Co (24-21). In 2004 Coffee Co's only shut out and largest margin of victory and most points scored was against Warren Co: 49-0. In 2003 Coffee Co scored the most points and acheived their largest margin of victory against Warren Co (56-20). In 2002 Coffee Co only won 2 games - one of which was Warren Co by the largest margin and CC again scored more points than any other CC game that year (49-7). In 2001 CC only won 1 game and it was WC by a score of 40-35. It was the most points CC scored on any one team that year also. Not only has CC won each time but it is their best win (by points) each year. WC better get ready. I always like the visitors side seating at CC.
  8. From the TSSAA handbook - here are the tiebreaker procedures. What's the farthest down the list we've even been to break a tie? Has anybody even done the item D 6 and fight it out? http://tssaa.org/Handbook/football.pdf C. In the event of a tie for the region winner, runner-up, third-place, or fourth-place team, if either team(s) has defeated the other(s) in regular-season play, the team(s) shall be rated above the other(s) in the standings. (After the region winner has been determined, the tie-breaker procedure shall begin all over again starting at the top to work out the runner-up position. The procedure shall be repeated to determine the third- and fourth-place teams.) D. The following tie-breaking procedures shall be applied and all regular-season games, both region and non-region, shall count (After each of the following steps have been applied, item C above shall be applied.): 1. The team with the greatest number of victories. 2. The team who has the greatest number of victories over teams winning 50 percent or more of their games. 3. The team whose opponents have earned the most victories. 4. The team whose opponents have received fewer defeats. 5. The team who has the greatest number of victories over teams in its own class. 6. Ten yardline overtime procedure at neutral site Monday night at 7:30 P.M.
  9. Nice website too (although not totally up to date). Wish we could get sombody to do that for Warren Co. Looks like SCHS has a lot of community support.
  10. I'm guess there will be about 300 fans (not counting the band) from Warren Co. Many of us have not been to SC before. Should we bring stadium seats? Lawn chairs? Our own hot chocolate?
  11. These two have played two common opponents: Warren County and Coffee County. Lincoln Co 17 Warren Co 00 Cookeville 28 Warren Co 21 Lincoln Co 34 Coffee Co 18 Cookeville 45 Coffee Co 35 I watched both teams beat Warren Co and saw (by means of satellite television) Cookeville beat Cumberland Co 31-6. Lincoln Co also has the home field advantage (no two hour school bus ride). I'm think the Lincoln Co defense is what makes the difference in this game. I thinking the score will be: Lincoln Co 24 Cookeville 17
  12. JUST TEASIN'! Glad you're a Rebel fan. When yall play dixie I almost want to yell for FC even though I'm on the visitors side. Looks to me like FC is playing lots of young players and they will be a real threat for the top three places...in 2007. I thought FC played WC with a lot of discipline with means they must have some good coaching. Last night was the best WC Pioneer performance I've seen...including all of last year.
  13. Maybe you should meet the English teacher. (Copying u'r post 2 Word and checkin' it fer spellin' and grammer mite hep!)
  14. It was a knee...but I saw him jogging on it a little after he came out and he was walking on it just fine after the game. He should be 100% for Franklin Co.
  15. Lincoln County Coffee County Warren County Mt. Pleasant Brentwood Academy Germantown Maryville Knoxville Webb
  16. Back in the old days (70's -80's) Fayette Ware was really weak. It was like playing fat-albert and the gang (without the 2nd half turn arounds if you remember back that far). For 2001-2004 they were 1-39. In 2005 they were a respectable 4-6. In 2006 they have started out 4-1 (beat four weak teams and had to forfeit to Gibson Co for some reason ....I've never heard) and have a good chance to win three or four more. Glad to see they be competitive. How'd they get this program turned around?
  17. Lincoln County - WIN Cleveland - WIN Franklin County - WIN Coffee County - LOST Warren County - LOST White County - WIN Giles County - WIN Knoxville Fulton - WIN Mt. Pleasant - WIN Obion County - WIN 8-2. (if only I could get 80% right on "The Big Ones")
  18. Game Summary (better do it now before I forget) Tullahoma took the open kick and drove down to about the WC 30 and then fumbles to WC. WC got two or three first downs before being forced to punt. T come back with a nice drive and goes up 7-0. In the second qtr WC takes advantage or a fumbled punt reception and drives in to make it 7-7. T comes back real quick and in a fast drive (just two or three plays I think) goes up 14-7. The rest of the first half was good football but neither WC or T can get a drive does the length of the field. In the third qtr WC connects on a great Kyle Mullican pass to Taylor Holten? for about 79 yards or so and the score is tied 14-14. T comes back with another drive and WC goes up 21-14. T fumbles a second punt reception and puts WC in great field possession and Shane Wilcher goes in from about 13 and scores. I think this may have been Shane's only carry of the night but I might be wrong. Score is 21-21 going into the 4th with the momentum apparently in WC's favor. Lots of good football till WC is stopping T on 3rd and long and gets another one of those personal foul things. (Personally I think the ref was blowing the wistle late so WC kept going after the ball carrier and the ref threw the flag becasue he meant to blow the wistle earlier and had to cover for hisself. I'd like to stop here and complain about the officiating - but I won't because I can't stand it when yall do it either). The penalty put T inside the 20 and the stick it in for the score a few plays later and go up 27-21. WC has two more offensive possessions but can't get much past midfield and the clock runs out at T 27 WC 21. IMHO WC is a little better than last years team was at this point in the season - I just think the competition has been a little better also. I don't recal any turnovers by WC this week.
  19. Lincoln County Cleveland Franklin County Coffee County Warren County (Hey I took a long shot with Brentwood last week and got it right!) White County Giles County Knoxville Fulton Mt. Pleasant Obion County Call this week...the revenge of Region 3- 5A (mostly)
  20. As a WC fan I'm very concerned about the Tullahoma QB and facing this passing game. I think the Pioneers can keep the running game in check but I don't think the big D has really been challenged by real good passing game so far this season. I'm optimistic that the offense will be as productive as it was last week. I would think Tullahoma, being well coached, will be ready for the power offense so the Pioneers may need to not forget some of those passing plays from week zero and week 1 to keep the T. linebackers from blitzing every other play. Cookeville made some real good adjustments by the 4th quarter and really slowed down the power O. What say ye experts?
  21. I think one was missed and one was blocked. They were 2 for 2 going for 2 - 1st on the 2nd Quarter on the 2nd TD and on the 2nd TD of the 2nd half...also.
  22. Warren Co has certainly been improving each week. Last week against White Co the offense show some signs of life and made improvements over the Lincoln Co game. This week the coaches really came together with a great game plan that almost worked. The coaches adapted the offense to use the tools they had available...even if those tools are not as fast as they would like. The defense didn't play all that bad at all..just couldn't get a hold of #3 on about three or four plays. For those of you who were not there the game went mostly like this.... Warren Co gets the ball first. Puts together what looked to be a nice drive (about three or 4 first downs I think) but stalls and punts. Cookeville gets a couple of good offensive plays off then Langford breaks one for 65 yards. 6-0 Cookeville. Warren puts together a nice ground drive and keeps the ball into the second quarter and scores and goes up 7-6. Warren Co defense then steps up and shuts down Cookeville for most of the rest of the 2nd quarter very well. Warren Co has some success but is not able to get a good drive going all the way. The last minute of the 1st half was ridiculous. Warren Co had the ball with less than 1 minute at mid field and first down. A scramble on a pass attempt ends with a fumble and now Cookevilles got the ball. They give the ball to #3 again and he's off to about the 25 of Warren Co. A (bad call I think) facemask and a subsequent personal foul puts Cookeville at about the Warren Co 4 with 9.something seconds left. A real good call, pass, and great catch on a corner pattern and then a 2-point conversion (by you guessed it #3) puts Cookeville up at the half 14-7. 2ns half. Cookeville gets the kick. 1st play from scrimage..who else but Langford (#3) goes about 75 yards and Cookeville is up 20-7. Warren Co answers back with another nice looking long ground drive which included one pass to Mr. Chase Officer for about 30 or so yards (EDIT - This may have been the way WC scored the third TD - the pass to Officer - I've slept since then - EDIT). A few power ground plays later and Warren Co is back in it down 20-14. Warren Co defense holds and gets the ball back and things are looking good from the east side of Nunley Stadium. From here things get sloppy and my memory get weak. WC offense gets not much and Cookeville gets the ball back. A few plays later and lightening strike again. #3 is off on another one of his long scampers but Chase Officers catches him this time. Cookeville is able to get it in then goes for two and is up 28-14. Warren Co is not finished. Another good drive and Warren Co is only down by 7 at 28-21. You just had to think big Mo was trying to get on WC's side but all for naught. Way to many penalties - most of which WC readily deserved. I think there were two turnovers each. WC had a long pass near the end zone intercepted late in the game. Kyle Mullican (WC's Jr. QB) handled the ball pretty well all night though. WC utilized several running backs - all doing well. The Warren Co O-line did just fine. Cookeville's best offensive showing was in the final possession of the game to run the clock out. I don't know how many yards Langford had but it must have been 300 or so - mostly on just four particular carries. The really bad news...Dustin Langford (#3) is a junior.
  23. YELLOW FLAG - UNSPORTMEN-LIKE CONDUCT- "GoldenEagle27, in the making of a valid play (comment) insinuate that the two good catched by #15 of the Pioneers on their final possession were made against number two's." (whisper, whisper, whisper with other officials). "Upon futher review - the flag with be picked up and only consider a warning (like one of those sideline warning things) as White Co was making many substitutes on defense during the game in an attempt to keep fresh players on the field and it could thereby be technically considered that some #2 could have been on the field at the time. GoldenEagle27 will be cautioned to make only positive, I mean constructive, comments about the Pioneers form this point forward. Play Ball." (blowing the whistle and waving the arm around thing)!!!
  24. Wow and thanks. Had not realized Arlington was doing so well. Are they perhaps being overlooked? They're not one of the names you usually see at the top in 5A.
