Both offenses were bad...both defenses played well...deciding play was the blocked punt for sure....any team that has a big line and contain the edges we will struggle with....but proud of the effort....just missed on so easy throws, dropped passes, turnovers, penalities, and about all skill players cramping but hey that's football...congrats to sequatchie...if y'all had an offense to go with your defense y'all could make some serious noise

Whatever the outcome of this game ends up I'm proud of how our young guys have fought.

You can be as fast as usain bolt but if you can't block it doesn't matter... I think we have 6 boys with cramps 0-0 almost 4th

I don't know why sc coach doesn't just snap it to the qb and go straight ahead...that has been effective when they have done it

Defense looks good...offense shot themselves in the foot with fumbles and alignment issues....have to correct in the second half 0-0 half

0-0 starting 2nd Sp has looked sloppy on offense...had one deep drive but it stalled

Man alive...finally it's football time...best time of the year!! I am going to say the pirates have a very good game tomorrow night. Once again, I know we are young but these kids just know how to win and have done it their whole lives. It's contagious. Blevins, Lilly, Raulston, Jones, Kelley, Fuqua, Holland, Kennemore, Pryor...I look for all to have decent first games.... This team plays like a team and will be fun to watch this year. They will be undersized a lot but will play their hearts out every game I gurantee it. All pirate fans need to come out tomorrow night and support these guys! Hopefully we will hear a lot of "booms"

More like 175 right now which is still good for a freshman...he is supposed to grow taller too...he is a special player...I know him very well....special baseball player as well..a lot of these kids on this pirate team are good kids with great families...I look for great things this year...everyone needs to come out and support the boys...win or lose back them...I can say I was one of the few at every game last year...fans need to back their teams in good and bad!

I agree with you...except...in 2007 when sp beat Tyner they went on to beat Mckenzie 52-20 for state

I agree with you ambassador...it was just a jamboree but Whitwell is nowhere near a top 10. With NCS returning so many starters and having Daniel Bituli I would actually have them at number 1 with peabody losing their coach though.

I am going to tell you who will be a key player for the warriors this year and I know him well from his time at sp and that's Kane Hale. Tall, lanky, and a smooth runner. He fits good at wr for them.

Sp will have the speed advantage and sequatchie the size advantage. If Lilly gets the corner on anyone I don't think teams can catch him. But, the key word is IF he gets the corner.

I think the warriors hurry up offense will give Hixson some trouble...I like jasper by 3.....touchdowns

I said it last year because I know these kids very well that the addition of 4 new would help with this years team talent wise but one thing I like especially is we actually look like a team this year. Not really a one man show anywhere. We don't have many seniors but the ones we have are good ones. Knowing how to win and expecting to win are powerful things. This years pirates team will be fun to watch. Everyone needs to come out Friday night and support the guys. Roy, how much more do you think Grider is going to charge for building that pirate ship and bringing those cannons in at his field?
