Now that I have had time to really think about the game last night there is just one thing to say. Hixson was just bigger, stronger, and faster than us plain and simple. As bad as we played, a play here and a play there really changes the game. If Jajuan doesn't fumble SP likely scores, If Mosely catches his pass he likely scores. That combined with penalties really changed the game. The knee jerk reaction is oh the pirates are horrible. Remember, they play in a watered down 1a. They need to continue getting better as a TEAM and they can still accomplish their ultimate goal.

Jasper by as many as they want...Will be a ball game for the first 3 or 4 minutes...

I have said it since the scrimmages...Maybe it is just because I am use to seeing Coach Grider's actions.

I have not been this disappointed since Union City in 09. Yes, Hixson has a good team. Maybe they got a wake up call last week like we got tonight. We needed a good dose of reality to make those boys focus more. Everything was off tonight. By the way, what happened to the field?? It looked horrible. No excuses here. Hixson flat out played a Men against boys game tonight and took us to school. Our line got pushed around everywhere. They ran for 300 on us. The walking around our guys do, the offense is not in tempo, we get penalized at bad times, turnovers, and everything else needs to be cut out. Whenever the next practice is those boys will have a lot to work on. Now, we will see how mentally tough this pirate team is.

Before the game Friday there will be no prayer. Yes, that is true. However, at all home games (until someone tries to stop it as well) there will be a certain time when everyone gathers on the 50 yard line to pray for the players and their safety before the game starts. I believe Jasper is doing their prayer by the goal post. I know we are rivals, but this is a good time to unite! Just passing along that information. Ready for the game Friday.

Grider is by far the true qb hands down, and Corbin should be used as he is...I mean...you can't argue with his ability to pass the ball if he has too..look at his past stats...Ready for Friday to get here...However, just like Signal Mountain started out bad last year and played their best game against us I expect the same from Hixson for some reason...We can't have our boys overlooking anybody..Ready for a home game, and those wonderful bbq nachos!!

We didn't play our best last night and neither did Jasper. Both teams will continue to get better throughout the season leading to a very highly anticipated matchup on November 1st!! However, their is a lot of football to play between now and then so enjoy each week.

Hixson will provide a big challenge for SP. They will be able to match SP in athletes and speed in my opinion. If SP wants to win, they have to cut down on the penalties!

1. Bell County was a nice place, very nice fans, and a nice stadium. 2. Slim from Trousdale was right talking about Kentucky refs when the played Macon County a few years back being rough. 3. We need to look better in the secondary, too many wide open guys....Plays need to come in faster...Kyan Mitchell being back this week will help with line depth. 4. Bell helped us out with some turnovers, we helped them with A LOT of flags. 5. A sloppy win is better than a loss anyday!!!!!!! Get ready for Hixson Also, an overlooked note at times Chase Frame looked great on extra points.
