Smyrna does match up well with LC but lets face it whoever wins the state championship will have to beat LC at some point so why not in the 2nd round. Play the games one at a time whatever happens so be it! LC will find out what Riverdale has known for years in the playoffs that undefeated odds on favorite thing gets tough! (Riverdale has handled it pretty well with a rare slip up) How will LC handle it? Its all Lc's to win or lose they are the HUGE FAVORITES!

We played them both at Smyrna Gallatin will win easily they are a very good football team. H,ville is just to one dimensional on offense and good teams are actually getting pretty good against the wing t. Link is the best overall player I have seen all year. Sean Slagenhaff( Spelling?) played youth league football with my son in Smyrna and I knew he was going to be good he was a tough fast kid. I wish he could have stayed in Smyrna. I pull for H,ville because of him but in my opinion Gallatin is better overall.

Just a scrimmage but ones vs ones was 2 to 1 LC. We definetly have more overall speed but they are huge up fornt. We actually scored our one TD with Childs at QB Johnson had some success getting outside. I knew LC was good but I have been suprised at how easy they have won their games.

They didn't change jerseys Dean played as noted and did pretty well. I don't know if we prepared for the option out of the shotgun it took us a while to stop it. Harvey did not play but one series that I remember?

No 7 played virtually the whole game and ran out of the shotgun running a lot of option out of it that gave us some trouble in the first half. Johnson and Shanon ran great Johnson also had a punt return called back. Lavergne gor up briefly I believe it was 17 to 14 but Smyrna came right back with a long Johnson run to go back ahead. We recovered a fumble and scored again on the next series to put it away. Smyrna had the ball inside the Lavergnes 10 with inder a minute to go and ran it twice and then downed it to end the game(costing me my 3 TD PREDICTION!) Amazing your score against Riverdale was virtuall the same as ours. I know it sounds like sor grapes but they are not that good, but somehow they win. By the way Wolke injured his foot again and hobbled around for about a quarter but seemed to get better after having it retaped. *You heard it here first the coaches say he will not play against Oakland *sarcasm not really true

toejam warrior I really don't think he actually knows no# 6 so lighten up a bit If he did I would have already been struck by lighting! Region What do you want for Oakland? 2nd or 3rd?(ck my earlier post pontificating going to LC or not)

Game recap Most boring Smyrna Lavergne game I have ever seen and I have seen them all. Crowd arrived late and was not very into the game for most of the night. Neither team played inspired football. I think Smyrna new they had enough talent to win and did it despite some very bad calls in the second quarter (ck my post I'm not a whiner about calls because they usually even out) Lavergne is better than I thought on offense but for some reason they didn't seem excited about the game either.I think they may have known they wouldn't win this year (just my opinion). Marsalous Johnson ran as hard as he has all year, he may have been the only player that seemed pumped. The rivalry sad to say is dead for now. Once Lavergene won several years ago it died. Prior to that every Lavergne team wanted to be the first to win and every Smyrna team did not want to be the first to lose. With Siegel next week following Wilson Central and Lavergen it comes down to Smyrna vs Lebanon and Smyrna vs Oakland after that.My worry is can Smyrna turn it back on after pretty much methodically going throught this stretch of games.

Rodney King once said "Can't we all just get along?" bubba71c calm down if region didn't have Smyrna to bash the world would be a dreary dark place and he would have to go on medication. region don't be led into posting inuendo and gossip out there (especially when it is really old news) it would not be dignified. No disrespect to L,burg I would love for my old school to win but it isn't going to happen. As Lou Holtz said about his 1st South Carolina Team We will hustle,play hard and be well coached to be in position to make a play----------where will be run over by a bigger faster player from another team! Hillsboro is in class by itself in 4a so don't feel bad they are really good!

Region 4 fan Thanks for your good wishes. When Smyrna/Oakland meet on 10/31 the problem will be for both teams will be you win you stay home for one game and go to LC the next. You lose you go to probably Franklin county and come back to Rivrdale I really don't know if being no# 2 is that great of reward or not what do you think? (I can't believe i asked that!)

Smyrna midle remains undefetated this year and they also finished undefeated last year.They have been undefeated 3 out of the last 4 years. They have beaten MJ and Blackman. They have a QB that has great potential. They will probably play Withorne for the championship

Riverdale 35 (good team not as good as usual but pretty solid well coached) Oakland 7 (No offense other than Crawford, can't pass a lick Riverdale is tough when you can't pass) Either way it's a region loss for someone! I wish Oakland would win but I don't see it.

Link is a great athlete but he will not be a D1 qb due to the type offense he is running at Gallatin. He will probably be a WR/DB? Have you seen the stats some of these QBS put up around the country it is unbelievable what they produce.

Wolke will find out what many others before him have found out in recruiting. Those "verbal offers" are worthless. Those phone calls and letters are also worhtless. It all comes down to the signing period and who is willing to place the papers on the table.There is an article in the Tennessean today about Bill Whittemore(who I thought was one of the best high school QBs I have seen) and how his so called D1 offers disappeared when signing day rolled around Schoools cover all their bases just in case things don't work out. Wolke has great physical skills but his stats will not make him a true big time recruit. My bet is MTSU.
