  1. Let me try. Gville gotten better game by game. Beginning to cut down on mistakes that 15,16,17 year olds make. Probably need one BIG win to seal the deal and let these young men know what they have to do week in and week out. Learn to do what they are coached to do in the proper way regardless of what is being said at the kitchen table and by the all knowing "COACHES" there in town. Bottom line they continue to progress ever since the Carthage game and appear to be learning what it takes to win and become the team that no one relished the thought of playing. I think that a start. How bout you old friend?
  2. Never seen a game film of Gville in my life! By the way who is Gville? They any good?
  3. I been lurking Croz. Just keeping my eyes on things. I'll be around and adding my vast knowledge around more!
  4. Pray to god those youngins don't act like you!
  5. I actually played for three coaches Coach Medley, Coach Winfree, and Coach Conditt. Benji's older Brother Burke was quarterback. 87 and 88 were both very good Gville teams.
  6. I been around ole G-town a long time Possum! Had to meet that evil enchantress and she done got me up here in Yankee Land! I've witnessed many football, basketball and baseball games between our two schools. Jeff and Tim were both good kids they deserved better than me as a Coach!
  7. WEATHER UPDATE: 3:30 PM Murfreesboro, TN. A GREEN FOG WARNING IS IN EFFECT. THIS IS A FAST MOVING VERY DENSE FOG THAT ENVELOPS EVERY THING IT COMES IN CONTACT WITH. ONLY SEAFARING MEN ARE ABLE TO NAVIGATE! EAGLES ARE GROUNDED TILL FURTHER NOTICE. THIS HAS BEEN A MESSAGE OF THE REGION 4 WEATHER NETWORK.
  8. Thanks again. You can tell Coach McNeal that was from the little pudgy assistant baseball coach from a few years back in Gordonsville. When Chappell and Bennett were there.
  9. They probably saw old Possum and Halibut ready to start busting and decided to head for the hills!
  10. Oh, dear, you boys sound like Gville folk now! Can't find somebody else to bust in the mouth just have to start busting each other in the mouth!
  11. Wow guys I never expected that to happen but what I said did come from the heart and truth be known if the G-men would have won in Round 2 they would have gotten a similar message. I reckon it's a good thing I didn't borrow the words of Coach Propst from Hoover, AL and say I want you to go out their and whip their...... thought I'd say it didn't ya. The way I see it this is about the kids. Two groups of young men who are going to play 1 game for so many hours of hard work. I just wanted to make sure those kids out on Cole's Ferry had an idea of what it's like to have something slip away. Plus it's easy for me to pull for Friendship because I believe you pull for the home team no matter where at in the world you lay your head. Me? I live way up in western New York but my blood still runs Blue, I still get excited when I hear Rocky Top, and I am looking forward to the Titans rolling into Buffalo on Christmas Eve. Friendship is an easy choice for me to put my allegiance to for one more game at least. Them boys are Region 4, they are our Wilson county neighbors and I have family from the Lebanon area on both sides. Vaughn, Rollins, or Winfree. Plus I've said before I have much respect for John McNeal. Oh Yeah GO COMMMANNNNNNDDDDERRRRRRRRSSSSS!!!!
  12. You danged right Possum about Coach Medley. What he did for Lebanon High deserved more than he was given back from some of the powers that be down there!
  13. Alright, boys, I have remained fairly silent this week about tomorrow’s Friendship vs. Jackson Christian game for the 2006 Class A State Championship game. I want to congratulate both programs for the wonderful season both have had. It’s been one great ride for all the young men, coaches, and fans but the ride is nearly over. Now for what I’ve came here to say. I just wanted to pass a little something along to Friendship, whom I will be pulling for tomorrow. Hopefully someone will pass these words on to some of the players, especially the Seniors, as they are words of experience. I was lucky enough to have been a Freshmen way back in 1984 and a member of the State Championship that we won at Gordonsville that season. That’s not what I am going to tell you about. 1987 I was a Senior and according to the people who made the predictions then we were predicted to finish fourth in our district, yes three classes, a district format, and two teams from each go to the playoffs. I can recall things about each and every game. I missed the Friendship game as my father had a sudden aneurysm on game day and passed away two days later. Anyway, we shocked everyone and came out as District Champions. The playoffs rolled around and Monterey was our first round opponent. .Monterey tried a very long field goal as no Class A team had scored on our defense all year long. Second round saw a trip to Nashville and Ezell Harding. The streak of unscored on ended when a tight end caught a pass and rumbled into the end zone. Quarterfinals saw South Pittsburg roll into Gordonsville. A year earlier the Pirates had ended our playoff hopes and emotions were very high especially after the lights were turned off before the spirit tunnel and they came back on just as we busted the banner. A raucous South Pitt Crowd fell silent and 36-0 we were headed towards the Semifinals and who we assumed would be FRA but it was Greenback. I can remember the bus ride, hotel, and team meal. Then off to the field. Stopping Greenback on their first possession and on the first play for our offense a sophomore tailback breaking away on a trap and racing 71 yards for a score. To keep from rambling the scoreboard was not in our favor at the final buzzer. What I am trying to say is enjoy tomorrow but DO NOT LET THE OPPORTUNITY BEFORE YOU SLIP AWAY! I guarantee the old saying time heals all wounds does not apply. You will remember tomorrow for the rest of your lives. If you don’t attain the goal you wish you will always wonder if there was something you could have done differently to change the outcome. Leave no doubt! Play like it’s your last because for some of you it will be and the others may never pass this way again. Go out and take care of business like you have all season long and things will fall the way you want them to! Good Luck and God Bless! Go Commanders! From, An Old Tiger in Allegany, New York Friendship – 28 JCS - 15
  14. This thread is headed towards a shutdown!
  15. By the way Pujo, how's your nephew? Hope he's alright. Do not listen to any Trousdale County fan when they talk about their own team. They been listening to Clint so long they think every team is going to be small, slow, etc. Don't buy into that!
  16. Ain't nothing wrong with Blue, Poss. You'd look good in a little blue with tiger paws on it!
  17. See Zone I am so old I done forgot what year it was!
  18. Now I ain't from Hampton! I ain't even made a guess at the score. I even like some of the Friendship fans and have a lot of respect for Coach Mc! In all reality I wish both teams good luck. That being said my predic tion is Region 4 Friendship Commanders 2006 Class A State Champs!
  19. C'mon, Pujo, I am from a public and I know what you are implying. Why be bitter? Two years in a row your guys have lost to a very good Region 4 team. If you make it that far next year it'll probably be three in a row cause it'll probably be FCS, TC, or G-ville. If not then it'll probably be Silverdale from down in Chatanooga. Word has it they had seven or eight horses standing on the sidelines sitting out just for a chance to play next year. Let it go it WILL work itself out.
  20. Thanks darook for keeping up to date on the game. I don't care what the rest of the Bulldog Nation thinks you are alright.
  21. I tried to warn the boys about trying to eat Possum! Noboy ever listens.....
  22. Well, hope ya'll get well soon. If things continue as they have all the Friendship faithful have quite an experience next week. I would not wish my worst enemy to miss out on it.
  23. Hmmmm.... that means you were a Freshman when I was G-ville.
  24. Developer, why ain't you at the game? Had a tough day putting braces on kids? Or did the Possumtown Posse disown ya?
