  1. I noticed you didn`t mention 1A,2A, or 3A. When you ask which division is the toughest, common sense would tell you that 5A teams are overall better than 1A teams, but I would judge the toughest division by how many teams in that particular division have a legitimate chance to win the state title. The more teams in a particular division that has a chance to win the state title, make that division tougher...IMO. You're right, I didn't mention any 1, 2, or 3A teams because personally I don't think they could compete with the 4 and 5A teams. That was my "common sense" telling me that. Is 4A football really that good? I've never seen any decent 4A games so I can't really say much about them. Red Bank had lost a lot of people from their 2000 5A championship team, which is why they went down to 4A. Not to take anything away from Maryville, though. They absolutely beat the crap outta' Red Bank, so they've gotta' be for real. Is Maryville going to be losing a bunch of people after this season?
  2. Lets hear it. Which division is the toughest in Tennessee and why? Division II-AAA, D-1 AAAAA? D-1 AAAA? Lets get some opinions and reasoning on this. Personally, I think it's either D-1 4A or 5A. I haven't seen many 4A teams play so I can't really say 5A is better than them, and from what I've read on here, there seem to be some really good 4A teams. D-II AAA is definitely a good division, but I just think they aren't on the level with the best 4 and 5A teams (yes I've seen D-II AAA games.) [Edited by Dale on 10-1-02 9:34P]

    Boyd-Ezell score?

    Bucsfootball, how old are you?
  4. Fine, you wanna go on stats, last year, Bowman absolutely torched the eventual D-II AAA state champions for 296 yards and 5 touchdowns. Can Jacob Brown say that? Nah. Switch Brown and Bowman's teams, and I guarantee you Brown's stats would disappear FAST.
  5. My best friend plays for the Chattanooga Colonels, and they played Hasaan's team this summer. Several guys from that team told me he hit a grounder to second and came within half of a step of running it out, and later he hit one to short and beat it out. That's sick (if it's true).
  6. Jose, thanks for helping us prove our point. You said Jacob's qb is better than Bowman's...hmmmm, maybe that's why his stats are better than Bowman's this year. I've been to PLENTY of Notre Dame's games and not only is Bowman getting double-covered on every play (sometimes triple), but his qb isn't really that good. Nothing against the qb personally, he's a great person, just not that good of a qb. Benching 290 is great for a wideout, but sorry, that doesn't give him the distinction of being the best wideout in Tn. Bowman has earned the respect every single team gives him every Friday night, when he's in college, teams won't be able to double and triple cover him every play of the game because there will be other great wideouts alongside him, so his numbers will surely be better in college than they are this year in hs. Bowman is the best WR in Tennessee, one of the best in the country (says several nation-wide ratings).

    Boyd-Ezell score?

Sorry to hear that, Boyd. Is Ezell that good, or did Boyd just not play as well as they could, or was it a little bit of both? Anyway, maybe this will be good for y'all come postseason. At least now you know what to expect if and when you meet Ezell again. Good luck with the rest of your season.
  8. Anyone have any information on the Boyd-Ezell football game yet?
  9. That's funny that you think that...too bad college scouts don't agree with you. Bringit, when did you play against Bowman? [Edited by Dale on 9-27-02 12:45P]
  10. Chris, haha dude you know I'd have to come; I couldn't miss that! Too bad we aren't playing Ringgold in baseball this year, I wanna hit against you, that way you couldn't rob me multiple times in centerfield.
  11. Like Dice said, I'm glad we're all starting to see where the other is coming from. I'd like to drop it, so I won't talk about it anymore. I'll just say that both Boyd and CCS have great athletic programs and great rivalries/games against each other, and I think everyone will agree with that. Boyd/CCS games are always fun to play in and watch. With that aside, I'd like to again wish Boyd luck tomorrow night against Ezell. Hopefully your d.b.'s especially bring their A game. If the weather is good enough, Dice and I will be at the game, so good luck, we hope you do well.
  12. Ok, I see where you're coming from, but I still believe you were blowing things out of proportion, even though you might not have been doing it intentionally. I never said one bad thing about Boyd's football team, if I did, show me and I will admit it and apologize. The only point I was trying to make in the first place was that the "good" 4A teams Boyd had beaten were not actually good 4A teams. Later, bbuc said that he didn't think they were good 4A teams, but compared to the 1A teams Boyd has to play that they are good, and I agreed with him in that. I never put down Boyd, and you were saying things that made it sound like (IMO) I had gone off on Boyd's program saying they were overrated and didn't deserve the attention they were/are getting. Lets just drop this subject now.
  13. Sorry Derek, but y'all didn't beat us in '99. We didn't even play Boyd in the Scenic City tournament.

    Boyd/Ezell

Hopefully, I can make it to this game. I think it will be a great game; definitely a fun game for the fans because of the amount of passing that will be going on. I haven't seen Ezell play, but obviously they're a very good team, as is Boyd. My prediction is a fairly high-scoring game, Boyd on top 31-28 (Healy with a game-winning field goal). Good luck to both teams, but especially to Boyd. Represent Chatt. well. [Edited by Dale on 9-24-02 10:43P]
  15. Sportsguy, I wasn't telling Supersteve to stay out of this thread, just the little "conversation" going on between bbuc24, dice, and myself. I told him to stay out of that because he was blowing things out of proportion, and it definitely wasn't helping anything. I'm not going to get into a fight with you about who has a better sports program right now, I think it's pointless, that's why we play the games. Sorry if something I said offended you, but like I said earlier, I have nothing against Boyd, I hope y'all do well for the rest of the year. All I was saying in the beginning was that I did not think Rhea and E.R. were good 4A teams.... Where would I get directions to Ezell Harding for the game this Friday night?
  16. Supersteve, one other thing...You seem to be pretty interested since you've asked me more than once, so I'll go ahead and tell you that I don't play football, I go to CCS and play baseball/basketball there. I played football at Soddy my freshman year.
  17. First of all I'd like it if Supersteve would kindly stay out of this, it's none of your business anyway and you're blowing things out of proportion, apparently trying to cause more friction. So please, shutup. Thank you. Secondly, Bbuc24, thank you for clearing it up, and yes, I agree with you, Rhea and E.R. are very good teams compared to the teams in 1A who you have to play, as y'all have proven you're head and shoulders above most of the rest. I saw your win against C.B. on the news last night, y'all handed it to them. I never had any problems with Boyd football, I just thought it wasn't right to say Rhea and E.R. were good 4A teams, but compared to all of 1A, they are very good, so I agree with you in that context. Good luck to y'all against Ezell.
  18. Dang...Nice way of puttin' it.
  19. Okay, all you try to do is diminish Boyd's accomplishments. You know nothing. Of course E.R.and Rhea aren't Maryville or some elite 4A team but they are fine football teams with a much bigger student base and big boys all over the field. You CCS women need to stick with the basketball forum and stay off here. OOOOOOOH, OUCH!!! He just called us WOMEN and told us to stick to the basketball forum!!! God help us all!!! Dice and I have both seen Rhea County play, and they are definitely not what you'd call an above average 4A team. They DO have more people and they definitely ARE some big dudes, but they aren't a GOOD team. The fact that CCS has no football team has nothing to do with my knowledge about it or my ability to talk about it, so if you say anything that suggests it does then you're showing your stupidity. 20. Hey Dale, What school do you play football for? I get the impression from some of your previous posts that you play for Soddy-Daisy. Is that true? You really seem to show a great deal of animosity for BBS. I don't understand that coming from a Soddy boy. Just wondering... SuperSteve, I don't play football, although I once did, and I don't go to Soddy, I just know a lot about them. I don't have any "animosity" towards Boyd, I just don't like the fact that some of the people from Boyd are making them out to be world-beaters; just trying to put things in perspective by saying "in 1a." That's all. [Edited by Dale on 9-23-02 3:40P]
  21. I'd like that better than the 5 classifications there are now, not including D-II. I think football should be like basketball. A, AA, AAA, then D-II.
  22. You forgot to say "in 1A" at the end of your post, bucsfootball.
  23. You'll pay for the smiley face.

    Baylor-McCallie

I know this game isn't quite here yet, but I'd like to get some thoughts on this game. Who will win? Why? Who will be difference makers?
  25. When/if anyone gets info on when and where the game is, please post it on here, I'd love to see him play after how much I've heard about him.
