  1. Well if you are referring to the Million kid then no he is still walking the halls.
  2. Well I am not a big softball fan either. The reason I was at Warner Park was to watch my little niece play. I am sure Coach Weekly wants Monica to play softball this summer but I think for right now he wants to keep her for a couple more weeks (I think UT is still in it). And the way she is pitching I say it's highly possible. But if Monica does in fact play for the Dodgers this summer and a 16 or 17-year-old player does rip a double off of her then she can say she has got a hit off of one of the best and boost her confidence. I just hope it doesn't take the opposite effect and destroy a girl's confidence to strike out 3 times without even touching the ball and look ugly doing it. That is why I thought Monica might play with some top caliber college team and face some of the nations best hitters. But if she does play for them it will definitely make them better, and I think she will definitely help the Diamond as an instructor and be a good role model for the younger kids.
  3. Well I know I will probably get cussed and yelled at for this but I promise I do not mean any harm towards what I am stating. Why would she want to play for them? I mean isn't there another team out there where she can be challenged for her talents. I watched the Dodgers play today at Chattanooga and I must say I wasn't very impressed. Nevertheless 1/2 of the girls on the team will probably get scholarships to play in college but only because of who you know and how much money you have. Plus the coach will expose them to college coaches. Some may very well be deserving of playing at the next level when the rest are nothing more than average high school ball players. Sorry if I offend any one but I am just stating my honest opinion.
  4. Goosevol, I heard a rumor that Monica was supposed to play summer ball for the 18-under Diamond softball team? The Diamond Dodgers I think. Is this true?
  5. Well I don't know much about Lipscomb but I am sure they are a great team to make it this far. I have to agree with Grad on this one, this is going to be one heck of a game. In order for Lipscomb to win they are going to have to beat Patrick Dye, Walker Valley's ace. He's been perfect this year with an 11-0 record and a 0.66 ERA. Good luck to both teams and may the best team win.
  6. I thought Grundy was 30-7? Anyways here is two more to add to the list: Rhea County- 16-18 Soddy Daisy- 27-20
  7. So is Josh Sitz and Dustin Fults juniors?
  8. I saw Toby pitch against Meigs Co. and he had their hitters baffled all night and Meigs isn't a bad hitting team. Their number 3 and 4 hitters was about the only hitters to get hits against him. I think one got 4 hits and the other got 3. And he only gave up 9 hits and struck out 18. However I remember watching Brown set Walker Valley's good hitters down last year in the sectional game as a junior. I think he gave up only two runs. My prediction is whoever hits the ball will win the game. Should be a good one and the Bobcat fans better bring their chairs because Grundy shuts the town down for big games like this one. Good luck to both teams.
  9. Congrats Grundy. You guys are the first team to beat Walker Valley from Tennessee. Plus you did it without your ace. Way to go guys and good luck to bothe teams the rest of the way.
  10. I'll be there and I am not with the Pittsburgh Pirates association. I'm retired . To hsbbweb: is Jack going to be there? I know the guy as well and he is everything you said and more.
  11. If the bats are going for Grundy then I am going with them. Toby pitched Monday against Meigs so he want be back for tonight. I say it will be Fults against Stevens but the Madison kid that pitched against Meigs in the District Championship game might start. Good luck to both teams.
  12. Well does anybody know who all made the All-District Team? How many are they allowed to put on it?
  13. Well if you add the two more girls from Meigs then that makes 24 on the All-District Team. How does that happen? And how did Meigs put 4 on anyway when they come in 6? No offense or anything.
  14. I'm confused. Is this post about who has the best outfield in Monroe County or the state? If it is state then I would probably have to go with Farragut but that is just based on what I saw when they played McCallie in the Scenic Classic and a couple other games. But if it is just in Monroe County then I have no idea because I haven't saw any of you all play. But I wouldn't go as far as saying you are the best in the district. Walker Valley's outfield is flawless and they all have cannons for an arm. Meigs outfield is descent although they change their rightfielder just about every game. There leftfielder has a strong arm and the centerfielder covers a lot of ground. I haven't saw Central's outfield but I say it is pretty good too.
  15. Yeah McMinn lost Matt Ray at short and Jason Breaux at second to graduation. I'm not sure about their centerfielder though. Anyways that is a huge win for Central. I heard that is the 1st time you guys have beat McMinn in 10 years. Congrats on the win.
  16. I have seen Moore from McCallie hit the low 90's. Hixson has two kids who hit the upper 80's in Dane Bolton and Brent Smalley. And does anybody know how fast Will Hutchins from Ridgeway throws it? I seen him a couple times and he can bring it pretty good.
  17. Holder pitched for Bradley giving up 4 hits in 6 innings of work before being relieved by Bristol in the 7th. For Meigs I think they pitched Tyler Roberts, a freshmen, who only gave up 6 or 7 hits. Overall it was a good game and could have been closer if Meigs could have turned a double play to get out of the 5th inning but made an error instead. That proved to be a crucial play as the Bears tallied 6 runs in the inning to break the 1-1 tie. The Tigers had a chance to put runs on the board in the 6th with the bases loaded and one out but Holder struck out the next two batters.
  18. Ryan Moore from McCallie and Blake Carver from Cleveland are two of the best southpaws in the state.
  19. How many players does Bradley have out due to basketball? I know Kellen is out but is there any more?
  20. Is the Meigs vs. McMinn game still on for tomorrow? If so is Davis pitching then?

I am going with McCallie not just because it's my alumni. But I believe they have the talent as well as the desire to win it.
  22. Yeah I didn't think the game would be played today. I heard it was raining pretty hard in Etowah. Best of luck tomorrow.
  23. Is this game still being played at 5:00?
  24. I think McMinn Central and Walker Valley will be at the top in the district again this year but you also have to include Meigs County in there. I mean they did reach the state tournament last year and are always pretty tough.
