  1. Three assistant coaches that quickly come to mind are Morristown East's John Rice, Knox Central's Randy Rogers and Morristown West's Chris Ayers. Each of them standout players in their own right and have now taken their knowledge of the game to the coaching ranks to teach younger players the right way to play.
  2. Gentlemen, Morristown is lucky to have three outstanding hurlers. From Morristown West, 6-3 eft-hander Matt Spencer (2-0) is downright nasty. Throws in the upper 80's to low 90's; quality breaking ball and good knowledge of pitching. Also, a threat with the stick, having hit three HRs already this season. From Morristown East, 6-2 right-hander Dwayne McBee. A late bloomer. Injured most of last season, McBee is 1-1 with 27 K's in two games this season. Heavy fastball in the mid 80's and a good curve. Also from East, 5-10 right-hander Corey McGinnis. A Greg Maddux-type pitcher who hits his spots well. 2-0 on the season, including a 4-2 win over a quality team in Morristown West. Thanks for your time!
  3. Red Upset, You seem to be down on Jefferson County Lady Patriots' basketball. Why so? Also, I've been told by sources close to the situation that you wore the Orange and Black of Morristown East in the 1990's. Any truth to that? Please respond to these allegations.
  4. M'Town East 52, Cherokee 46 Greeneville 48, Jefferson County 47
  5. M'Town East 52, Cherokee 46 Greeneville 48, Jefferson County 47
  6. M'Town East assistant coaches Dag Berquist and Brad Hall can still carry the load.
  7. M'Town East assistant coaches Dag Berquist and Brad Hall can still carry the load.
  8. I think Morristown East assistant coach Dag Berquist will be a quality head coach in the near future.
  9. I would like to know everyone's thoughts on which teams are peaking and which teams should get the boxes out to put their uniforms in? Peaking: Jefferson County, Morristown East Packing: Morristown West, Cocke County In the Middle: Cherokee, Greeneville
  10. Red Upset & Eagle Eye, I tend to agree w/the majority of your choices. However, there's a few I would change. MVP: Parker Clement (JCHS) All-Conference Jeff Jennings, Tyler Brown (JCHS) Wahkeem Simpson, Corey McGinnis, Daniel Deaderick (M'Town East) Andrew Shumate (Greeneville) Anthony Wynder (Cherokee) Korian Buckner (Cocke County) Jeremy Smith (M'Town West) Decker (M'Town East) & Sinard (JCHS) - Co Coaches of Year Hottest Team: Nobody Coldest Team: M'Town West Surprise Team in Postseason: Nobody Best Shooter: Clement Best Rebounder: Clement Best Ballhandler: McGinnis Best Defender: Buckner Coach on the Hot Seat: Ballard (M'Town West) Possible Replacements: Dag Berquist (M'Town East); J.D. Lambert (Knox Central - popular name when job opens); Ian Morrison (unemployed); Brad Woolsey (Greeneville)
  11. 1st Team Parker Clement - JCHS Andy Tipton - Maryville Jody Fersner - Karns Daniel Singleton - Rutledge Greg Gibson - Farragut 2nd Team Jeremy Holliday - Bearden Jeff Jennings - JCHS Tyler Gaskin - Maryville Matt Day - Rutledge Michael Mott - Anderson County
  12. Two of the best I've seen this season are Morristown East's Daniel Deaderick and Jefferson County's Tyler Brown. Both of them are very quick and enjoy keeping the top scorer from their opponent under wraps.
  13. Cherokee @ Jefferson County Cocke County @ Morristown East Greeneville @ Morristown West POSTPONED
  14. Is it time for Rutledge to change coaches? Tee Farrar doesn't seem to be getting the job done.
  15. Jefferson County girls' head basketball coach Michael Potts collected his 300th career win Friday night with a 67-43 win over Morristown East. This is Potts' 15th season at JCHS and is just 28 wins short of the school record (328) held by Dennis Roach. Quite a feat.
