  1. Yes pretty well held in check in most of 1st half. Couple really big runs brought back on holding plays. Yes holding plays evident by the number of them we have ran this year. Holding and INT's sealed the deal for sure. His biggest play was an out pattern. Seabolt has elevated his game. 40 played good as well. But all in all Boone got the job done. They played hard, hit hard and capitalized on the ops presented to them. Tough night at the Fred for the Tribe.
  2. Ahhhh... Word around K-Town is the tribe may be without a starting RB tonight. Is CS in tonight?
  3. Ya know I was going to kind of let it die down and quit trying to figure out what you post . But since you have included me on this one.. please tell me what I need to be apologizing for. I have not singled out any player nor have I said anything the coaches haven't already echoed. So please explain what you meant in stating "wipe off his back side first than offer you a hand"? I really don't mind if people agree or disagree with what I post. It is just my opinions. Just a couple lines ago rebelyell disargees then agrees with me. Ok so what. But not once have I insulted a coach, a player or anybody who doesn't look at this crap through rose colored glasses such as yourself. I am not mad at you or anybody else here. Heck it aint about me or you it is about DB football and when you realize there is some work to be done there you might just get the big picture. You are so quick to be a marvel comics character to defend the truth and justice of the DB football coaches and players that you have no idea what you are even saying....please keep reading. I've been looking for you to crawl out and say something along those lines.Your wrong for one,and for #2,my son looks at the awards the way I do.There nice, but if we are not getting the wins, the stickers just go in a bag. That's why you will not see any extras on his helmet.By the way,if big Mat stops up the middle every game the way he did friday,I'll pay for his steak :thumb:Great job Mat Do you really read what has been posted or read what you write? You just proved his point. Where is he wrong? You just called the awards nice. No matter what you do with them you still think they are nice. Nice don't feed the bull dogs Timmy. Come on. No win no awards, if you are not going to use them as you say then don't take them. To be honest with you I am not even sure who Mat is, and I thought the defense did a pretty good job for most of the game last week. But please tell me I am wrong about how the last touchdown was scored. Wasn't it a 20 plus yarder straight up the gut to seal the deal? But hey nice comments and maybe he gets his steak this week. I do apologize to all. I ....am...out of here for now.
  4. Intimidated by what? These kids haven't played DB in years. They've played in nice stadiums with turf and they've played in packed houses. Last time I checked, DB had 14-18 year olds on the team, same size as the Boone boys. Oh come on now. You know it will be different when they step onto the turf at the Fred. We know this date had been circled for months.
  5. Wrong. We just want to keep the jucies flowing and see some pride displayed.
  6. It's stuff like this that drives me batty. How much success does anyone have when they respond in anger. Getting mad is or fighting mad is fine. It is a normal reaction or at least it should be for any competitor. But really when anybody reacts in anger it's usually a poor decision and the results are even worse. I wonder how many hands have been jambed from punching a locker? Something happened to get to that point. What was it , how do you fix it & what are you going to do about it. Doesn't necessarly mean you need to go fight someone, does it? Telling a player that it is ok you'll get 'em next time doesn't work either. Don't be afraid to face the truth, have the confidence to address it. If a player or coach can't handle that then Waco is right go be a part of upward. You have to fail before you can succeed. I don't recall you complaining when the fans started leaving at half of the central game when the tribe was up by what 28? The fans come to be entertained. HS College Pro etc.. Don't blame the fans when they leave especially when the show goes south for either team.
  7. I am pretty sure most of us know who you are and what you stand for by now. Little 'tounge and cheek" there batman. Well I hate to say it especially as a DB grad...some of them did lay down late in the game and did give up. I was there late in the 4th when it happened. As I said in a previous post others did not. Seabolt, Cleary, Sensabaugh, Clark, Corey, Patrick, Michaels, and of course Action played very hard. But the team as a whole does not have the heart and passion needed. I am sure there are a couple more I failed to mention. But the 2 key figures needing to step up and produce are the QB and the head coach. Both are very capable and both can get the job done. UT has the same problem as DB. We have to have our QB play smarter not harder. The defense can get the job done but only if the offense has more success. The Indians are Kingsports team. They are elite and we have come to expect no less. But this is high school sports and with that comes good times and bad. I am very close to this group of classes at DB and trust me I do feel the pain the players and coaches are dealing with right now. I do support them 100% across the board. I think the hopes of most of us that post here would be that some of the folks are reading this and they will come out and prove how wrong we are. 10.9.8.7.6...
  8. Well first things first djrob. The only reason Daniel Boone deserves to have the same initals is because....well that is their initals. Now as to the "Other" DB. They are a good team. Prob a very good 3 quarter team. But when you have 16-18 players going both ways time will be on the real DB's side. They ran out of gas late on South after leading most of the game. Anyhoo...good luck and enjoy those well deserved initals. BTW Don't sweat it djrob... batman will be on here in 15 minutes or so telling you congrats on Jenkins giving those guys equal playing time on offense and defense win or lose it's all about the blaa blaa blaa you know.
  9. Those are good seats. They have supported the fans for years. The upward way. Thats funny...way funny.
  10. Seabolt played with the passion this team so dearly needs. When the bears started putting 9 in the box it was time to spread the field. But we kept pounding the rock to no avail. The o line played a great first half then I don't know what happened in the 2nd half. Might need some fresh subs if they can't go all the way. Qb has a cannon but no touch. Needs more short crossing or out patterns. Defense played pretty good but they can't carry the team. Holding and turnovers sealed the deal. Running out of time need to get things fixed.
  11. The Tribe will be fine. They lost to 2 of the top teams in the state. I really doubt anybody in the TCS top 10 would have a single win opening up against Farragut and Clinton. Like or not the talent pool is much deeper in Knoxville right now and their aint nobody up here getting past them in the playoffs. It is what it is DB needs to do some work. The kicking game is non-existant, big problems there that can and will cost a team a game. The players stepped up vs Clinton and the team as a whole looked much better in game 2. The tribe will have a winning season. The tribe will be one of the top 2 teams in NET. The tribe will make the playoffs. Write it down I said it and I am right.
  12. Hmmmm? Really? If I am not mistaken the East Team went undefeated in last years TBCA Showcase or if not I do know they won it.
  13. The first "Big 9" & Upper East summer session started today at DB. Games pretty much from 9:30 to 8:00 Thurs Fri and Saturday at DB . At DB and North Sunday afternoon. DB, Boone, Crockett, Volunteer, Central, THS, North, Unicoi, Betsy and I think East.
  14. Pitchers do get most of the glory. They can and do decide the out come of many games. Norris is awesome. No doubt going to be one of the best to come out of this area. But my top 2 for MVP would be Krebs and Archer in that order. My big 9 team... 1st base Nat Pat / Justin Trent 2nd Nick Loughry SS Jamie Crawford 3rd Massie / Mullins Outfield Freeman Gaby Norris Catcher Delouch Rhyno Reed Pitchers archer krebs Harvey DES Norris
  15. Whatever you do , do not go to Tricites Sports and read about what those Soccer people have done with their championship game. From what I understand the final 2 teams from the Big 9 must be named by Saturday morning. If no more game are played the 2 winners bracket teams will move on. I guess that means pretty much every district must be wrapped up Friday night.
  16. You are correct Cardinal park was mentioned, few more tools to use there to protect the field I guess. But still would have been tough to get it in there. It is what it is and whats done is done. I understand why not many would want to go to DB or SH to play if it could be helped. Advantage under normal playing conditions maybe , but IMO these weather conditions are hurting the Big 9 as a whole. Gives us all a chance to be Armchair Managers, like we need more chances. As a fan of all of these baseball players I want them to rep us in the best possible situation down the road. Lets hope the weather breaks tonight and they can get it in tomorrow and Friday. They will need the rest Saturday and Sunday instead of the Tuesday and Wednesday break they got. Whom ever the top 2 may end up being I hope we keep the thread rolling supporting them. As far as the gate goes I hope they make enough to cover the mule mix used this week. We may need to pass the hat for Krantz tomorrow night. How much is a bag anyway $25? We quit buying it over here in the city! LOL! Just kidding!
  17. This is painful. I think we all want the Big 9 to represent at the Boro. Nothing against the IMAC but if we don't get these games in the IMAC games could become as big a challenege as a Knoxville Sub State game. Just another day of rain or so this tourney goes to single elimination and Crockett and Science Hill are playing for 1 and 2 who travels who plays at home. Pull the tarp at the Fred and you can play in 15 minutes. The Confereence needs an AD limit the term for 2 years. No city for more than 2 term no county for more than 2. Wait.. thats to easy. Would have to make it more complicated than that. Good luck to all I hope they can play tonight.
  18. I don't care who you are...thats some funny stuff right there.
  19. I was there, didn't see anybody run either. Matter of fact I made 2 trips to the parking lot after the game and then hung around for a spell. If you really really want to know the answer to the question that keeps you up at night. The one that you just can't figure out. The one that is stuck in your crawl and just burns like the dickens....Ask your players, then go look in the mirror. They know exactly why. We know why. And I really think you know why. Since locket has made a class distinction comment..... It's a conspiracy all the way around. The certain schools are the city schools. No matter what common sense offer is made "the little" folks think it is a conspiracy against them. From what I understood ...An offer was made to move the Big 9 games to a playable field this weekend. The instant response from "the little" folks was that it would be an advantage to the city schools if the games were played there. Who knows? But it wasn't a conspiracy just a common sense approach. Now the Big 9 is one day ,close to be looking at 2 days behind. The Big 9 teams that do advance loose the well needed rest now. Maybe it was a reverse conspriacy ever think of that?? Ha! I am not trying to take a dig at Central. Those folks worked hard Saturday and did a wonderful job with the conditions they had to deal with.
  20. I understand they could hear DG a hollering all the way to downtown Mt. Carmel. Of course I guess that goes on pert near ever night down that way. Congrats , pass the hat then build that monument and light the eternal flame you been waiting 23 years on. APRIL 25TH 2009 GREATEST MOMENT IN FALCON BASEBALL HISTORY AFTER 23 YEARS OF FUTILITY WE BEAT DB. I guess the Falcon fans are due to ride the DB fans down after what the DB fans said on this thread after the Falcons got Drilled at our house. If you go back through all 19 pages and find it let me know.
  21. I really don't think anything was said to the contrary my man. My points being: I don't think it shows much class to come on here and punk someone out without knowing what you are talking about.
  22. Talk about not showing any class. Boys I wasn't at the game Saturday, all I know is what I read on TCS. But I do know this is a game of ups and downs and said kid had been playing pretty well. He has not been a starter all year and has worked for his chance. And if anything he is held more accountable than most because of his relationship. You have made it very clear you do not know why he is at South so leave it be. I would have thought an East fan would be more focused on how well Tyler hit the ball and Hunter getting the job done on the mound.
  23. Congrats to Boone. They are playing very well in district play. And if any Big 9 teams gets ranked in the state it should be them. I am not so sure any of the Big 9 teams are really a top 10 in the state at this point. Not to say that there aren't a few teams capable of getting to that point. But this has to be one of the strangest seasons in a long time around here. It just seems to be so sluggish getting things going district wide. Nobody has really stepped up as THE team to beat. And the weather has broke the rhythm of any team that gets close to getting on a roll. IMO ..The first game of the district tourney will make or break any of the Big 9 teams. Everyone must throw their ace in the first game to get to game 2. After that if Science Hill is still standing they have the depth in the rotation. Still the defending and Big 9 leading team at this point.
  24. gob, I don't know, or think I have seen, O'dell or Vance . I am sure they are fine young men. Question is where did you see them pitch? If it was Utrip then chances are very slim they were seen by any of the local coaches. And they may have not been pitching against varsity ready players. If they are what you say they are then time will tell. Best thing to do would be chill and let their work speak for it's self. If they are playing JV and not winning ?? Well then....if so the coach will pull them up. I know where the top guns , varsity and jv, pitched last summer. After the HS summer season was over there was only a couple of times those guys threw here in the Tri.
  25. Tell the young lad congrats on the HR. Don't you guys play again this year? Taking nothing away from you goofaroo The Vikes got their main mission accomplished this week with 2 wins in the Big 9. Your game meant nothing other than bragging rights and your birth right to call me out....this week. So you guys faced their #5 , 6, 7 pitchers in the rotation? Good job sounds about right for a single A match up. I have friends that play for both teams and wish the Bearcats the best. But when you get on here and flat call folks out it just aint right. You are what you are I guess. Keep up the work on your language skills as they have improved slightly. As hard as it is to read I think I get your point. Hopefully you will sleep better now.
