With the exception of Cloudlands recent teams, class A ain't much to talk about around here and the Rangers ain't no bunch of 02-03 Landers. They are a good bunch of boys but .. Good luck to you Rangers!

Decision making. That is the best thing I've heard so far. It needs to be from the coaching staff down to the players. It has been the whole team, coaches and players. There are adjustments that need to be made and we keep changing the defense, which seems to get by no matter what the changes. What needs to be fixed is the O. The defense hasn't done too badly since the SH game, when they were their weakest. The D since then has been very good. Put some O on the agenda in practice this week because that is where the team is lacking. Being able to get outside is a priority because that opens up the opposing defense. ?????? I dunno?

Exactly what is the "fix" for the Betsy football team? Speak up Pandora, VD, Truth, Dream and you others. Even you Coachh17.

What can you say about Betsy that's not been said on here. They must realize that they have to score to win. Averaging 12.4 a game just doesn't cut it and that counts defensive scores. Try something else guys, obviously what you are doing is not working. How far can you go when you put everything on the D's back? You have enough there to generate some offense. Use it! Besides what's been said bout your O, prove us all wrong

Tn. High reminds me of the dominate teams in the days of the Witten boys who made the semi-finals two times. Central ranks right up there with, well, guess I shouldn't say "up there". TN High will win by as much as they want. Classy coach at TN. High. He won't run it up too bad, but the Cougars will have trouble stopping their second & third teamers in the fourth quarter. 42-7 TN. High. The 7 will come late if at all.

Betsy fans are looking for something to get excited about on the O side. I don't think East can score 30 + against the Cyclones, but I don't think the Cyclones can score enough to beat them without some changes.

No need to debate that this a forum for opinions and everyone has the right to post their thoughts. I have the utmost respect for Pless and most of his assistants, but not all. I think the point is, a lot of people feel the need for change and have for a couple of weeks. I still don't understand "fixing" the defense and not addressing the offense, but I, as a fan, deserve no answers to these questions? I don't think the Cyclones will survive with defense alone and that has been the case for most of the season. I'm sure it is h_ll being a ball coach, but some decisions are tough. It takes a tough coach to make tough decisions at the "right" time. After a 6-5 team last year, I really don't call this a rebuilding season. For the amount of seniors that were on the team last year, there were very few contributors from the group. Yes, there are only 10 or so seniors and only 11 or 12 juniors, so is next year a rebuilding year also? Right now they have athletes to get the job done and a line that is being effective, so there is no better time than the present to expect more from your players. There are 23 or so sophmores and at least 7-8 could step in today and get the job done. There are a select few that would better the elder classmen, given the chance. I think the point is, let your best play and rest them with others that are available and to the man in the both calling in the "O" plays, you must do better. As for the fans and players reading CoachT, that is their choice. They are not in kindergarden. I think the unity on the team is sky high, but 90% know a change is due. Like I said in a previous post, "I would love to have this offense" (loaded with athletes). Another line I once posted, "It is easy to coach from the stands" (this is where the criticism comes in). If you think we are bad, read the thread about WM. Blount's program. We are pussycats, but please, don't take "T" from us, because then we may make fools of ourselves in public. Krich, Wasn't bashing you or anyone else. This board is for opionions and I will voice them on here. I know who you are but I don't know you very well. I know the coaching staff pretty good also as I did Ryder and his staff. I think I am quite a bit older than you as far as college goes and I attended UT, but that 's another story. I am 59 years old. Now go figure. Didn't mean to hurt you feelings but my opionions are just that.... opionions. Everybody has some, but there are several on the QB change boat. I'd hate to see that young man wasted for two years. I don't think his dad will allow that.

The more I think about it, the more I think the Cyclones will win. East will be against a real defense Friday nite. It'll be the first real test for them. If the Cyclone D can get the O in very good position, they might get a few numbers up. East is vulnerable to the run, but I'm not sure about their pass defense. Of course, there is not much to look for from Betsy but wr screens and a slant or fly. That's it. 23-21 Betsy. Could be better???

Hey Leonard, what about Sullivan East at Elizabethton. Be careful you missed on the Cyclones last week.

IceMan & Krich, Pless is a very smart coach and he has to know there needs to be a QB change. Whether he will over-rule McKinney is the question. I think you have to put the offense woes on the O. Coordinator because it seems as if Pless is leaving the decision to him. Shame on Pless for that. Betsy has put up 19 vs. SH, 3 vs. TH, 23 vs HV, 9 vs. South and 8 vs. G'ville. Now take out the defensive scores and it spells trouble.

There are several picking East and I don't blame them. Betsy can't score enough with their offense. It is too limited. Krich, If they don't address the QB problem, then there will continue to be problems. Tough job for a first year head coach, but Pless is going to have to step up and do the hard parts of his job if he is going to be successful. That's part of it. I mean, how many games does he think his defense can pull off for him. Will the D make this team play-off material. Maybe? But first round play-off material. That seems to be what they are counting on. They watch the film so the coaches would have to be blind not to recognize that they need a QB that can move. #8 is the package. Young, but he is the package. Coach Rider says he is the best thing he's seen since Shawn, so that says alot. Shame Smith he is still watching. A wasted year for an exceptional athlete. As Dream said, "they threw the fans a bone and let him run one series, what an opportunity." We want and the team needs more bones.

Darn, I'd pay to be the OC for the Cyclones. Garanteed production. Tough decisions need to be made by Pless.

Good job defense. DB's better get to work, but overall great defensive effort. I'll have to add, shame on Pless for allowing the offensive production to be so poor this far along in the season. If it ain't working, fix it. #8 is gaining a fan base by you guys not giving him a fair shot. Offense obviously needs fixed, and quick. Congradulations Cyclones - Big win, but not as big as next weeks game.

Having a Cyclone heart, it is tough to predict against them, but here I say, once again that Greeneville will take this close game 14-10. As I said earlier, Betsy will get one offensive score and the D will do it's job, holding G'ville to 14. Think and see Coach Pless.

The Cyclones can't score that much VD. Freeman's leg would be wore out. Greeneville 14 Elizabethton 10 Defense will do it's job for Betsy. Offense will get a touchdown in this game.

Don't let the ship sink before you try plugging the hole in the backfield. Run Shaver at least 1/3 of the tailback plays and hurry up with Smith. Offense is too limited!! South 10 Eliz. 9 The offense will have to score before this team will get over the edge.

I think the rain will favor South. Their QB is one of their best runners and they have two other excellant running backs. The weather may slow down the scoring, but the rain, I think, will favor the Rebs. Rain will make things much tougher on the Cyclone offense. VD, I am surprised that you picked the game to be so close. Are you OK?

3D, there is a bunch that agree with you on the QB change. I think it will come by mid-season (maybe Greenevilee). Heck, I'd get out of here to if I were the Smith family. He is too good to be watching. Hope I'm wrong on the score.

I'm still staying with South in this game. The Cyclones need a QB, but if he is ready to move, let him go. Smith would bring some sort of explosiveness to the offense, but it is a team game. I'm all for him and his time will come soon cause the defense can't score enough for them to win consistantly. He can do everything Jeffers brings and more. He can run and throw.
