  1. I agree. Pearl Cohn is the one to beat. Mason needs to pour on the heat next week and show them who the Fire Birds are.
  2. I have read this post out of seeing it constantly on the front page. I sincerely hope the players of both teams are steered away from this board. White House and Greenbrier both have solid teams with long histories. One teams had more losses than the other in recent years and just how does it make your wins bigger to belittle the one with losses? This is nothing more than kicking someone that is down. The words psych came up but you don't even realize this is the only way to fight a faceless bully on a message board. Year in year out you both have good teams. Take your wins and take your losses graciously and be glad you're still in the playoffs.
  3. I am sure many close friends of ORHS alumni Mark Copeland already know of his passing. He was killed last Tuesday on September 11, 2007 in Florida in a helicopter crash during a photography shoot for PowerBoat magazine. He obviously was a proud Tennessean, and a proud Oak Ridge alumni since he continuously talked about his state championship team even while traveling the world. Below is a tribute link some may be interested in. He also requested donations be left to ORHS. If you read some of his tributes, you will see that he told literally everybody about his cherished OR. http://www.cbc-raleigh.com/memorials/mark_...k_copeland.html
  4. Did you SEE the word guarantee? I predict the Bison will win....go Bison!
  5. I cringe when I speculate about this game. I think Pearl Cohn will want their revenge and most likely get it, but I almost hate to see Pearl Cohn come out on top if all they can do is "run wit it". An education would be a nice back-up plan. I hope White House knocks them out this Friday. Pearl Cohn won't shut anyone else out. Let the real games begin.
  6. Bison will not let Sycamore get so close this time.
  7. update on SC-- Bison win. 17-16 They will play Sycamore at SC Any PC update yet?
  8. Boy, let me tell you something. No, I am not from Cheatham County backwoods, and I don't have a "vacation" home next door to Pearl Cohn like you. I am not here to argue with a boy that has got a mouth that overloads his behind, so when you start telling me to keep my mouth shut you'd better have something that can close it. You don't know who I am, and I don't play these talking games. Think carefully before you shoot off your mouth. Have a good trip to JSS. Barnhill's is a good choice
  9. I am not counting Station Camp out. One game in bad weather does not reflect a team's true validity, in either winning or losing. In normal conditions, I think Station Camp would have won the game, but unforunately it slipped away. I agree with many that a 9-1 season shows more stamina and strength than the overall record of Pearl. Station Camp needs to not let the loss be anything but motivation to go out and take back the game. I think Station Camp will be standing on on side of the field when it's time for the championship game.
  10. Charlie, I am beginning to see the comparsion between Big Country and the agitator in my washing machine. Constantly whining and stirring things up. Its a shame that a moderator doesnt' put a stop to this. It's all over the threads and he is one the common denominator. It's easy to be "big" behind a keyboard and that is the only way he gets to play with the big boys apparently. On the playground I think he'd be the one hiding under the slide. I think Polk will have their hands full with Pearl Cohn, but if penalties come into play and Polk can pound out the plays, they may have a chance to stay close. Pearl Cohn has fast guys. Once they get past you, it's hard to catch them. Pearl usually doesn't have a big fanbase, but if Pearl wins OR loses, expect taunting.
  11. Meigs has the advantage. Sycamore is lucky to be in. I think Meigs will win by 21 or more, but Sycamore gets to see the fall colors of East TN.
  12. I read a post a few weeks back that Pearl had 150 yards of penalties against a battered Greenbrier team. Think the posts said most were offsides.
  13. CC is one and done, Southside can name the score.
  14. For Polk coming into an unknown stadium, you will find hospitality, but you will also need to be aware that Nashville has it's share of crime and Pearl Cohn is IN Nashville. Personally, I think some people are more intimidated of the location of the school than the team itself. Last year I remember reading that one poster last year had his car broken in to because they had parked on the street. I don't think there is a problem with the players as much as I think SOME fans TRY to be intimidating. Safety in numbers and let your teenagers come alone, not because of the school but because it's not hard to wander into the wrong areas of Nashville accidentally, and that's not good. I see PC winning this one, but I don't see them winning it all.
  15. Cold. Wet. Muddy. Loud. Packed. Intense. Playoff at stake. Braggin rights. GB's remembers who knocked them out last year. Revenge would be sweet. WH wants to go on. Both want to prove themselves. On TV...even better. TV distractions, not so good. A mediocre season for both disappointing season for both teams. Who wants it more? One part of me says if WH can go on, GB will backoff and let them. The other part says, no way. GB knows a statement can be made here that the win last year was no fluke. WH wants to start another winning streak. Both schools Senior players want to go out on a high note. Friends, rivals, neighbors, co-workers. Some out for blood, others straddling the fence. Who wins it? I would think both sides are more unsure than ever before.
  16. Station Camp is TCB. They smell the region title and I don't think PC has any idea the stampede they are about to experience. PC might be the closest team to Toney's speed but I think Hollinsworth has the foresight to know that Toney won't be his only weapon Friday. The focus is on Toney and the defensive line is under the radar. PC may be good, but they will have to accept 2nd again this year. IMO, GB will have a close win over WH if they get it together, and that will slide Sycamore and Macon into the playoffs with SC leading the way. Good luck Station Camp. Finish strong.
  17. I think you're counting your chickens a little too early, but I've seen both recently, and IF it comes down between these two, it will be Station Camp, with three sacks to boot.
  18. I agree wholeheartedly, And sooner than you think.
  19. Exactly as I said, the few games I have seen the Bobcats, there is not enough speed to get around the corners. Is there enough speed to get in open field for a pass without being able to be ran down from behind? Any team would love that, but not very many teams have it. If you have the blockers doing their job, the chances are greater that the run will get through. Then we come back to critiquing the line. Are they opening the holes? Evidently not with the way the games are going this year for Greenbrier. Again, Roger Herndon was good, and his brother was almost equal him, but they are both graduated and gone. Greenbrier can't recruit, they can only train what they have available, both defense and offense. If you don't tackle well and block well, the team it is going to be a long season. Which it seems to have been for the Bobcats. Take no offense to this, but the only negative thing I have heard about Greenbrier they have a who's who/who you know or are related to system of sorts. Obviously it's not all players, but maybe some.
  20. I heard from a PC fan that PC was still playing their first string with 6 minutes left in the game? He didn't know if they were just padding the score, or trying to nail that coffin shut to make up for all those flags. From the stats I saw, PC won't make it past round one if they don't learn how to avoid penalties.
  21. I'd like to see DeKalb win just for pride's sake.
