I first met Jeff during his first stint at Liberty. Got to know him better during his second stint at Riverside. Always enjoyed Coach Quinn as well from his Tim at TCA
Jeff is a good guy. So is Quinn. Quinn won't be there though. He is focusing on baseball only now.

I understand Riverside lead RB #25 was injured up at Gibson County early in the game. What is his status for Friday?
Was shocked Milan jumped y'all in the AP Pole this week. Didn't see that one coming.
Been a few years since I broadcast a game up there. Looking forward to seeing my friends Coach Jeff Robertson and Coach Quinn on Friday. Riverside always showed good hospitality when I've been there for past games. As always, I pray for an injury free game for both teams.
I've always thought you were Jeff Robertson until today!

Let's see if the weight of Riverside's large bench population pays off later in the game - it should.

in july? thats quite an assertion. considerably better than a state runner up who has been to 2 semis in the last 5 years
Yea GF, I really believe that, and I might be wrong. But you know how it is with small schools, an injury or two can change everything. It's just that I've followed them for 10 years and I've never seen them look this good early. Usually they get better as the season progresses.

1. Riverside (cream of the crop so far; look better early than they did in playoffs last year)
2. Huntingdon and Milan (tie) (dogs and ponies always in the mix)
3. Peabody (don't count them out just yet)
4. Camden (simply going to score enough pts. to win a few more)
5. Adamsville (jury still out)
6. JCM (decent team but not ready for prime time)
7. Gibson Co. (continuing to try to build)

Riverside is on a mission. They were oh so close last year. As long as their injuries stay minimized, I don't see any playoff team beating them. (The game against Collierville was much closer than the score.) They went toe to toe with the big D1 boys.
-
My hat's off to Peabody, one of the finest programs (and schools) in West TN. They won those state titles with dignity and grace, and let's not write them off. They are just reloading for some more state runs right now. Every high school (and college) has some down years, even those famed elephants from south of Middle Tennessee's border have laid some eggs over the years. I look for Peabody to be back up shortly and rolling over teams again because their school, community, and all athletic programs are first class; what some of the rest of us could aspire to be.

Way to go Panthers. This has got to be your year.

Riverside by 3 TD on a not so frostie night in tiger town.
-
Where are you moving to? That stadium was always hard to win in if you were on the other side from Big Red. I can count on one hand how many times my teams have won there since 1973.
-
This used to be a huge rivalry back when both teams were up. The schools are only 8 miles apart and many of the people from both towns know each other. Bruceton handled Stewart Co. last week. Can they stop the high powered Camden offense that put up 50 on the Wavo Wonders last week? Can Camden's defense get a few stops? This week will tell a lot about where both teams are headed. I'm saying Camdentowne in a tight one.
-
I wish Tiger High fans would post on here. This is a great rivalry game in a situation where a lot of the players know each other. Every year the thread is silent, and there have been some very good games between these two schools. Go Panthers!
-
Don't panic early stang fans. Remember how Riverside looked early last year, and how they ended up? Huntingdon will come around - they usually do.
-
RHS by 3 or 4 TD's, depending on how much Frostie takes his foot off the accelerator. Riverside is better than they were last year - and much deeper.

Yes sir and it looks great. Got it done by mid summer. I am wondering why other schools didn't do it the way we did. The county, the city, nor the school system paid for it. I would like to thank Huntingdon and Waverly for their contributions to our new field btw. Federal grant. aka Free (kinda)
That's fake news Beagle. Please don't be putting fake news on about any high school program.

Yea, it would be a good game to keep.

I know it's hard for these good 2A teams in this region to get most 2A 3A teams to play them. I imagine Peabody, Huntingdon, and other traditionally good teams have run into the same problem over the years. I'm sure nobody around here wants to play Riverside unless they have to because they are in their region. Riverside's just having to play up because they are really good. Even if the Panthers lose, the experience will be good for them. The experience for the Collierville boys will be good too, when their tour bus rolls into Parsons and they see what some rural facilities look like.

Oh how well I know sir.
