1. Boo Weathers had 261 yds on 27 carries and 3 TD's (unofficially).  Chris Donald had 140 yds on 14 carries and 1 TD.  Huntingdon rushed for a little over 400 yds and held Camden to 92.  Had Huntingdon punched it in from the 3 early in the 2nd quarter when leading 14-0, then this game would have never been in doubt.  But, Markham did  a good job of finding a ocuple of open receivers and getting the Lions back into the game.  Camden has a much improved team but they still have a ways to go to play at the level Huntingdon is used to playing at.

That's true, but there was no "running it up" tonight in Camden. The state champs had a good fight on their hands. I think those two backs will be hard for anybody to stop. Huntingdon's qb doesn't get enough press either. He really impresses me with his stability in the ball handling dept. and accurate passing. But you have to admit, H'town doesn't usually go into the 4th stanza losing. They had to get their lunch boxes out to finish off the Lions tonight. And state champs or not, we ain't scared of the big bully on the block anymore!

2. After seeing H'town defeat the Camden Lions, I don't think the Stangs will lose another regular season game. I think Huntingdon will beat Milan fairly bad this year. But, hey, I might be wrong. I thought Milan would demolish Trenton. I am really going to enjoy the jaw jabbing between the H'town fans and Bulldawg fans this week.

3. My hat's off to the Huntingdon fans that attended the game at Camden tonight. They have, by far, the most class of any fans around. I guess they are accustomed to winning, expect to win, and tend not to run their mouths when they do win. It was Camden's most exciting game since the McKenzie game. Camden Stadium was rocking tonight! When the three Lion captains came out on the field before the game, the Camden crowd went nuts. I knew it was going to be big Camden fan night. The crowd was around 3500. The defending state champions did a good job tonight, and the Camden fans will look forward to game #2 in, what does Huntingdon call it, season #2?

4. Camden has the best fans! Camden gets the biggest gate! Huntingdon horses help Camden have it's best crowd in years.$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for the Camden football program and CHS! See you again in a few weeks, Stangarooooos. Good job Lions! Keep up the good work. Tonight you were on the back bumper of the best 2A team in the state, and you pushed them hard into the fourth quarter.

5. Perhaps the consolidation a few years ago was unnatural. Have you guys had many good seasons since consolidation? Do you ever wish you had Jim Swafford back? Do you think politics got him? Do you think politics is a problem in the Knox Co. system? Do you think the answer is under your noses and you can't see it? Why ask why? You have some of the best players around Knox Co. and lose year after year after year. Something is wrong over there, and I think some of you are getting close to the answer.

6. Huntingdon fans. Welcome to Camden. If you get here early, we are having a spaghetti dinner in the CHS cafeteria starting at 4:00. It's very inexpensive (5.00) and the proceeds go to the football program. If you want a seat for your ladies, bring them early. It's going to be standing room only. And thanks for making us welcome at the Jamboree for the past few decades.
7. One thing however that continues to bother me about this season is the articles that appear in the wonderful Camden Chronicle. i mean dont get me wrong they are finally covering sporting news pretty good for BC but i am about tired of hearing how wonderful the coaches are and making it look like the past hasnt been worth anything. ill admit the past 7-8 years the staff hasnt been as passionate as this new group seems to be, but you also have to look at what they had to work with compared to this team. no comparsion. this year is much deeper and just better athletes. i just hope the chronicle can stick more to covering the games instead of constantly talking up the coaches like they are the only ones who built this program. oh yeah and another thing, i know the richardson kid is the son of the owners but come on....if the ball would have bounced the other way he could have scored....is that really needed in the article covering the game.

Let's not air out the dirty laundry in front of the neighbors. You should write a letter to the Camden paper. It might do some good.

8. I'll remember to say a prayer for the Camden Lions come 7PM Friday night.

I have to admit, you've been doing a little bit better recently with your comments, but this one was back to your old, dumb country bumpkin line of "Tennessee Trash" talk. You don't need to say a prayer for Camden. You need to get out of your chair, step over the coon dogs, leave the trailer, get in your rusty Ford Escort, and go pay your late phone bill, so you can keep your computer on and learn more about what not to say about young men who play their hearts out on Friday nights. Regardless if the team is Camden or not, you talk too much trash about the boys.

9. Anyone or Everyone,  I am just curious as to what gave Camden the big boost this year.  I don't know very much about them or this region...just that Huntingdon is pretty darn good and that McKenzie was a road block in years past for my team for some reason! Anyway, like i said, what is it that gave Camden the big jump because i know last year they nearly upset our region champion in the first round of the playoffs! So what has sent them from the #4 spot in the region to a believed state contender? Once again, i know pretty much nothign about this region or this team..i've just been hearing the hype.

Great head coach, hard work, tremendous assistants, long hours, good jr. high program feeding in, good jr. high coaches, these current upperclassmen had a great winning percentage while in jr. high (around 90% I think), good senior leadership, good kids in general, smart quarterback, hard nosed captains, and did I mention hard work?

10. There will not be enough seating. Huntingdon fans over-filled their side two years ago and Camden was going in 1-4. No plans to date for portable seating. Have installed port-a-johns already for the huge group of Stang fans. With a resurgance of our program, there has been talk of adding more seating on the home and visitor's sides. If they put us in a new region with the Middle Tennessee teams, however, we will not need any new seating for the small crowds they will bring.

So new seating is on hold for now.

11. hey man let it go..

i have a bone to pick with all you huntingdon fans:

i'm really disappointed in huntingdon's fans. in the last quarter of the martin westview game i noticed that no more than 20 fans in the stands were standing up.  i guess everyone just kinda assumed that the mustangs would pull it out.  i'm not saying for sure it would have made a difference, but it doesnt hurt to stand up and make some noise for the team you support.  i could see how people can think that we're a bunch of cocky fans after bringing about twice the amount of fans martin had and just sitting around like a bunch of people supporting USJ.

hopefully it wont be like this this week at Camden. the camden fans are hyped up about this and we should be as well.  i hated that huntingdon was such a unanimous favorite in the first place as far as all these meaningless polls go.  now maybe the fans wont be so confident in the unknown.

P.S. do they still have that crazy PA announcer over at camden.  it sounded like that was him doing the radio broadcast when i tuned in a few weeks ago.

We got a new announcer last year. Our other announcer went back to being a full-time lawyer/big fan. I smiled at your post because two years ago when Huntingdon was beating the Camden squad by several dozen, he got on the p.a. late in the 3rd quarter and yelled, "That's enough Mansfield." He thought Huntingdon should put their younger players in earlier in the game. This season you can hear him yelling from the stands. He is a genuine fan and lives for Friday night football. But to my knowledge he hasn't started radio yet.

12. I don't know what your situation is up there, but newspapers have become more and more like the Inquirer over the past few years. Their level of reporting any news or sports has declined. All they want is a juicy scandal or a court case inwhich to report. That's once reason why I won't allow one to land in my lawn.

13. I saw the game. I think Orey is mostly hype, because he is following Jante and Patrick. I don;t know where Jante is but I know Patrick will be starting for Ole Miss before the end of the college season!

I don't know how you could say this. Willis kept Bruceton in the game against our boys. He is an exceptional player. In the 3rd quarter when it was 28-14 and he started cutting through our defensive backfield, I was beginning to get worried.

14. Keep up the good work ELA. It will pay off for you sooner or later. Are you in your new stadium, or are you still playing at the old field? If so did they bring any of the old bleachers over to the new school, and are there any of the old bleachers for sale?

15. Sounds like we played well all around, very good. Yeah, the Willis kid is a good ball player, very fast and quick. Did Boyd go for over 100? I assume he did, anybody else have a huge game that stood out?

825354878

Heath Yoder should be the player of the week. His stats should look go on both sides of the ball.

16. Thanks alot 38320. I thought the Riverside-Waverly game would have been closer, I'm glad Riverside got a W, they deserved it. 38320, you got any details on the Camden game?

825354853

Lions out to a 28-7 halftime lead. Tigers didn't give up. Came out in the second half, scored making it 28-14, held Camden to 3 and out, and took the ball down to Camden's appx. 10 yrd line. Camden's defense held, Lions got the ball and drove the distance of the field. It was downhill from there for Bruceton. Willis is a great player for Bruceton. Many of the Lions had a great game.
