  1. Huntingdon in a knock down drag out.
  2. This is a neutral view, with no connections to HC politics. The jr. high programs play local schedules, and when the boys get on a high school level they get thrown together and shipped on a bus for two hours to another region of the state. If HC had two (or three) high schools, perhaps a Paris City school, they could compete with local schools like Camden, Dresden, and Huntingdon. The teams would naturally evolve into rivals with these other schools. The crowds would be bigger both in Paris and at the away games. More boys could play football, more band kids could play music, there would be more cheerleaders, and the larger fan base would create more local business on game nights. The biggest problem with HC, is not the teams or coaches it has had since 1970, but that it is land locked from the schools it plays. I've been to games at HC when Dickson came to town and brought 200 people at the most. Think about it Henry Co. You are shooting yourselves in the foot with that monstrous school.
  3. I think it will be a good game with Bruceton giving Camden a good first half and Camden pulling away in the second, due to their depth and talent. I learned a long time ago that when you count the Tigers out of a football game at your home field, you might have to chalk up a "L" on your schedule Saturday morning. Keep working hard Lions! Get after em early and hard.
  4. I've seen both teams play Camden. My opinion is Waverly by 7, simply because they can move the ball on the ground better than Riverside. But the Tigers better be ready to play. Riverside is better than their record indicates.
  5. Milan will beat Huntingdon in the playoffs and I'll be cheering for the Clarksburg Rockets!
  6. Riverside was a scrappy bunch tonight. They'll slip up on some team in a bad way before the season is over. Note to Riverside: hurry up and get your new stadium built. 1/3 of the home stands was Camden people. Go Lions!
  7. Thanks YJ21, You do not have to worry about any of the programs getting dropped. When county commissioners or school boards (any county commission or any school board) start having parents camped out at the court house and calling them at home, they will figure out a way to get things done. The only way sports programs would ever get closed down is if the schools close down. That won't happen either, for long. The parents won't take it. However, the good folks in your county will be looking at higher taxes. Meanwhile, Friday night football will march on. This is America and this is the South.
  8. We heard from our grandson that several of the players at SD would like to have Swafford back. They did seem to play harder under his guidance.
  9. I'd love a West TN sight. I'm sure each region would love a sight too. Each region loves their teams and we all love the big, phat orange. (Well, most of us.) But if you can't get a W. Tenn sight, let me know and I'll just stay here. However, if you go to competing with Coach T, on Coach T, I think he'll kick your butt. And I don't blame him. It would sort of be like selling discount candy in Wal-Mart. If Wal-Mart builds the building and pays the payment, why try to sell in their building, on their time? I would prefer a Coach T site more closely monitored, with idiots excluded and repetitive topics deleted.
  10. Since MTSU is the geographic center of the state, it is the only fair answer to the playoffs. I don't know anything about the Spring fling, but West and East state football teams can travel to the Boro and play in a CENTRAL location. It is fair and fair is fair. If the state football championships were in Tri-Cities or Memphis, I'd probably agree that something should be done. I'm from West Tennessee, and I think the system is both good and fair. It has nothing to do with Riverdale having so many state championships playing at home. They would have probably had just as many playing in Memphis or Chattanooga.
  11. CBARK, what are you talking about....forfeits? and Monday night?
  12. Huntingdon 40, Chester Co. 12 Just one quarter of good action!
  13. It sounded like a good game...........for about a quarter.
  14. The town of Camden, the high school faculty and staff, the students, and anyone remotely connected to LION football is proud of Coach Ward, his assistants, and a tremendous group of young men. We are also excited that our team can compete with the other strong teams in 6AA. The Huntingdon and McKenzie programs speak for themselves. Recently Chester Co. and Riverside have been competitive, with CC having just completed one of their best years ever. Riverside is the best 0-3 team in the state, mainly because they are not afraid to play good teams in their non-region schedule. And men, don't ever count out that bunch of Cards from Pusser Country. If you don't look twice, they'll slip up on you and kick your tail. This is a tough region, and if you don't believe it, watch 6AA in November. Last November the only 6AA team to lose in the first round of the playoffs was the Camden 12-13 loss to Lewis Co. . . . . . . . . (to be con't.)
  15. I'm not a Huntingdon fan, but anyone who thinks they are cocky doesn't know anything about their program, or their coaching staff. They have a first class program and I have never seen, or heard any of them act cocky. They have beaten the c*** out of a few 2A teams in the state, but cocky.....no. South Carolina is a little cocky, until they play the on THE HILL! Huntingdon is a hard working bunch of young men, just like they have been taught by their blue collar coach.
  16. Waverly might make the playoffs. They're in an easy region.
  17. If you are a true Lion fan, you will consider changing you log in name. We don't need stuff like this being posted for Camden.
  18. @38320

    WAVERLY?

I think Waverly can make the playoffs if they keep working hard. Of course, a first round trip to Huntingdon is not much fun for anybody.
  19. No disrespect to McKenzie. You have a fine team. Enjoy your trip across the river in the playoffs. 31-24 !!! Lions Win.
  20. I told you boys I'd post at 11:00 on Friday night. I'm a few minutes late, but the Black and Gold Lions won at McKenzie 31-24. Congrats to the entire Camden team and coaching staff on a great game. The stock went up tonight in Coaches Ward, Blow, McDowell, Knott, and Wyatt. They defeated a fine Rebel team in the heart of dixie town.
  21. It's not the same old Camden team this year. They play the best when their backs are against the wall. McKenzie has a class program and is a first class school. Camden will win! Be there and see. My next post will be Friday night at 11:00.
  22. I think Lewis Co. will win but Waverly might give them a better game than a lot of people expect.
  23. Add extra visitor's seating. Last night at Waverly: In addition to the visitor's section and 100 yards of fence leaning, the Black and Gold took up two sections of Waverly's home side. We will be there, and we will be there early, for the game of the week. Go Lions!
