  1. All of this Camden-McKenzie talk is good.  These 2 could be meeting for a possible first round home playoff game come November.  Huntingdon should cruise through the regular season, but anything can happen come playoff time (and it usually does).

Teams don't play other teams from their own region in the first round. CB, the more you write, the more you discredit yourself. Keep up with the Camden scores this year while you are at it.

  2. Dover is a wonderful little community!  If you love the outdoors, Lakes Barkley and Kentucky are great!  We have a new school, football stadium, and locker facility (field house).  The only thing that is needed now is a new practice field to make the circle complete. The talent is better than expected but the depth is always going to be shallow in a small school.  As the community grows, I expect more soldiers families to retire in Stewart County and more talent to come out for football.

You are right about the need for stability. Almost every single sport on campus will have new coaches when school starts in the morning!  FOOTBALL, BASEBALL, Both BASKETBALL TEAMS... just to name a few.  Every program needs stability to propser!

    ELA,

I'd like to wish you and your family the very best there. Now get them to build you a practice field and crank it up. You are probably right about more and more soldier's families.

  3. 38320 coach watkins is coaching with steve kordish at clarksville northeast watkins is running the offense. Coach Watkins is sadly missed in houston county last years team and this years team are a direct result of coach watkins his departure will be really felt after this year. this group of seniors played for coach watkins 3 years starting with their 8th grage year when coach watkins started the middle school program so people in houston couny better enjoy this season because thing are going to get really bad after this year and coach bussie will really earn his money then.

I would just like to see Stewart and Houston start draining off the good coaches from Clarksville, instead of Clarksville always doing it to them. Maybe that will happen as both areas continue to grow and Clarksvegas continues to have turmoil. Actually, both Stewart and Houston have a lot to offer any young coach and his family. I just wish someone would stay.

  4. GotGame houston co has won the last 5 years in a row my son played for Houston Co when coach Watkins came to Houston co and started the streak stewart co had won the previous 7 years. Houston co prior to coach WATKINS hadnt been to the playoffs since 1977 but once and that was in 1992 and they had a 2 and 8 record the previous 4 years before watkins started coaching houston co their record was 1 and 39 coach watkins record at houston co in 4 years was 21 and 21 with two playoff apperances and a big reason houston co was in the playoffs last year was because of coach watkins so GotGame dont be so sure about making the playoffs this year true you have the players but if it comes down to coaching you could be in trouble

Babe, where did Watkins go? I thought he did a good job for the Irish. I wondered what ever happened to him. Did he go where Kordish is?

  5. My hat is off to the fine Lewis Co. football program. Their program is 1st class with tradition, a nice stadium, and Sharp's boys going 11-0 to this point. However, something needs to be done about some of the drunken Lewis Co. fans roaming the visiting sidelines, cursing and yelling their obvious high school drop-out laced expletives. Surely there are enough good people in Lewis Co. to do something about a few bad apples. Interestingly enough, most of their nasty, filthy, dirty, rotten language was aimed at their coach; probably one of the best high school coaches in the entire country. Don't let them tarnish your good Panther image. Do something!

  6. Dresden's boys were a little overconfident; they got off the bus laughing and making homecoming jokes. At halftime they were on their heels 35-7. They never got anything going in the second half. Dresden has a class program and will be ready for the playoffs. Go Camden Lions! PS We would like to request everyone to keep picking against our Camden team on into the playoffs.

  7. Let's not get the Rod-Camden thing going again. That's almost as old as why our boys got beat at Gettysburg during the late, great war. We're doing fine without Rod, and he'll rebuild Bruceton without us. I hope he does. Next year I want to see the Camden Stadium packed and some fire back in the rivalry. Go Lions.

  8. Jammy McCloud did a good job at Camden Jr. high but Camden Jr. High had a winning tradition before Jammy McCloud came. Jammy has been successful where ever he has been. But now he needs to concentrate on helping Waverly; or perhaps Houston Co. Either of those two programs would be tremendously aided by his knowledge of football, and energy with the kids. And don't underestimate Baker. He could be the Mayor of Camden if he wanted. He is just the type of person who is happy as vice-mayor, while taking his family out to dinner.

  9. Congratulations to Dresden; the Arkansas of West Tennessee. You guys are doing a great job over there. Keep beating teams like McKenzie and the papers and TV will have to give you some credit. Hope you can have a good game this week too. Keep the parity going.

  10. Nice crowd at Bruceton. Hope they bring a bunch to Camden next October. As they reload, (and we know they're reloading) they probably will be after us next year. Bruceton has a class football program. Hats off to Tiger High. Go Lions! 4-1

  11. There are some of us in Camden who would like to take this opportunity to vote for the McKenzie Rebs. However, Maryville has one of the best high school stadiums in the state. I'd like to see McKenzie play Huntingdon at Maryville; then we could get some seats. Have a great day boys - Go Lions!

  12. Camden 44, Bruceton-HR 7 It will be ugly early, and it's about time. They've been beating us up for years. Rod has always had a class program over there, but every once in a while everybody has to pay their dues. By the way, we've been debating it all day in Camden, just how long has it been since we have beaten Bruceton? I've heard 10, 13 and 20.

  13. Well boys, we're going to have to cook some extra possums, cause when our Camden-Riverside game is over, there's going to be a bunch of hungry, tired, rednecks, on both sides of the field. Lions 28-Panthers 21 in a tremendous 3rd place in the region battle. (A game that sorta resembles a National Convention of Ducks Unlimited).
