  1. Any justification to this rant or just excuses?
  2. I believe that coming off of a tough loss like Science Hill is, this will be as good a chance as any for East to score the upset, if you can call it that. However, I do not see it happening.
  3. You are incorrect. Since the beginning of the 2003, DB has ammased a 9-4 record against Science Hill. It went a little something like this: 03- DB won at their place, DB beat them at Freedom Hall in postseason play. (2-0) 03-04 - Each team won at their place, DB beat them in Morristown in regionals. (4-1) 04-05 - Each team won at their place. (5-2) 05-06 - Each team won at their place. (6-3) 06-07 - DB swept season series. Science Hill won in postseason. (8-4) 07-08 - DB won @ Science Hill (9-4) So, since 2003, them have met 13 times with DB winning 9 of them. That is coming about as close to domination as any school is going to get against Science Hill. I do think you are correct about DB sweeping them this year. Science Hill had some tough luck losing the players that they did, but it has historically been tough on them, or any other team, to come to the wide open spaces of the Dome and come out with a win.
  4. Tell me then sir (or ma'am), who has been to more state tournaments in the last 5 years -- DB or Science Hill? Also, while you are at it, over those last 5 years, look up the head-to-head records and then you will have your proof that the times have changed and DB now dominates Science Hill in both sports /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  5. Wrong again! Moron of the year award? For me? Wow, I feel honored. Not necessarily because you gave me the award, but it only took 3 days of back and forth to receive it. After going back and forth all football season and the whole year with some of the other canidates, for you to give it to me after just 3 days means I must have struck a nerve... Hmm... /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />
  6. I apologized to you, and you can't even acknowledge my apology and accept it. There will be no more "Bronson-bashing" from me. The numbers will speak for themselves once the season winds up. Again, as a man to a mother, I apologize to you.
  7. Waco, you are no better a person than myself or anyone else on this board so quit trying to act like you are Jesus and know everything. You don't know me, my age, where I live, where I used to live, or if I played basketball in high school or beyond and it's a good thing you don't because you would realize just how wrong you are. I have been on here for years watching you run your mouth behind your computer screen while you sit at home and soak your dentures. I am a DB fan, as I said go back and check my posts if you would like. Done with you, on to the next. Bronsonsmom, I would like to apologize for any hurt I have caused you by my "bashing" of your son. The thing is, this is a public message board filled with opinions, and in my opinion, Bronson will not be a factor in the post, and certainly not on the wing, IF he gets a college scholarship. That is just my opinion. You don't have to agree with me, but in time you will see that I am right and Waco is wrong. As I said earlier, I applaud everything you have gone through with Bronson and the effort you are putting forth in attempting to help him obtain a college education. As a man I will apologize to you and not argue with you over your son out of respect for a mother. Now WacoDumbfoot I am not going to argue with you anymore because it is pointless on both of our parts. We are on both sides of the fence and neither of us are crossing over. Here is my best attempt at an agreement to disagree.. You may be right about Bronson getting a full athletic scholarship. For his sake and the sake of his family, I hope you are correct. With that said, I believe that I will be correct in my prediction that he will not be a factor on the basektball court beyond high school. However, the most important thing is for him to use that scholarship, if he should receive one, to get a quality education. With that said, check back with me in 4 months or so and you will see that I am right in my statement that Bronson will be the 4th highest scoring post on his own team. As a side note, congratulations to DB on big wins last night against a fired-up East team and a quality Pikeville team today. Appears Hardy had good games in both so congratulations to him and congratulations to McConnell for the game-winner last night and a solid effort today in leading the team in scoring. Wish I could have seen them, even more so now that Tom Taylor is no longer on the radio and I had to sit through Overbay's ramblings. Any chance that Taylor gets a job with the other radio station that covers DB sports? Not sure what they would do with Spivey, but it would be a shame if Taylor no longer covers DB at all after all he has done for the school.
  8. And I quote, "You don't always have to handle the ball to be a wing in college." Gee, news to me! All of this time and I had been under the impression that a wing player who couldn't handle the ball very well wasn't much good. And since you are making me do this, I will. Since this is Bronson's 5th year of catching the "bashing", that should tell you more than my previously stated 4 years. Listen Bronson's mom, I respect you as a mother and appreciate all you that have apparently had to go through with Bronson. As I said, I do not know your son personally. I only know that any child that goes around telling people he is going to FSU (knowing that is not going to happen) and gets on CoachT posting about himself has some issues that need to be dealt with. I don't see any of the other players in the entire Big9 posting on here about where they think they are headed or letters that have been coming to the house.
  9. I am a DB fan, check back at my posts since 2003 when I joined if you would like. I do not get to see very many DB games because I live in Nashville. So yes, I do listen to most of them on the radio. I actually got to watch some quality basketball today and catch both the Memphis and most of the UT game (got too late for me, past my bedtime). Seeing both the MTSU and WKU teams today, it is even clearer in my mind that Bronson will not be a factor for a school even the size of those too. The insinuation that he can play guard is even more laughable. You are 100% correct! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  10. First of all, I did play basketball back in my day so I know what it is like to bust your butt everyday and try to be a good player and win basketball games. Second of all, I never claimed that you said Bronson was not a good player. Third of all, if you think Bronson can play wing in college, do him a favor before it is too late. Before practice tomorrow, put him out on the week isolated against Justin Sylvester and see if he can take him off the dribble and get to the hole. I will GUARANTEE you that he can't. Therefore, if he can't even take Sylvester off the dribble, I would like to know your reasoning for thinking he can handle the ball well enough to do it at the next level. Fourth of all, if this is the 4th year that Bronson has had to put up with the "bashing", then that should tell you something! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  11. Waco, let me spell this out for you one more time and I'm out of here because you aren't worth the Charmin I wipe my butt with. Here's the deal. In your day, 6'9" was enough to get a guy an automatic scholarship because post players back then were maybe 6'4" if that, and that was not normal. I would be willing to bet that you never suited up in a DB uniform because you don't know jack about basketball (or football for that matter, but thats a few months away). Like I said, look at the numbers at the end of the year and I GUARANTEE you that Bronson will be the 4th highest scoring post on the DB roster when it's all said and done. If, and thats a big if, he signs a basketball scholarship to play at the next level, he will not help that team. He is not a basketball player, but simply a 6'9" body that tries to be a player. There ya go Waco. So, over Christmas break when you get your family together to open gifts, tell Bronson that Santa apologizes for not being able to bring him a game to go with that weak frame of his. The world is a better place for having you in it, WacoIdiot. Merry Christmas!
  12. Waco you really are funny you know. You come on here and say what you wanna say and claim that your opinion is 100% right all the time, no matter what, but when someone calls you on something like I have you resort to talking about me bashing a player and how you are tired of it. I will leave it alone when you answer my question and stop dancing all around it. I have held constant in my observance that Bronson is simply the 4th best post on his own team, therefore will not play D-1 basketball and will not be a factor at any college school. Listening to the game last night, all 3 other posts had more points, played more minutes, and were bigger factors in the game than was Bronson. I have maintained that I do not have anything against the kid personally, don't even know him. All I know is what I see on the court and what I read on here about him going around the DB halls telling students he is going to FSU. You know Waco, maybe you have a grandson on the DB team. Could it be one Bronson Flack? Maybe that's why you are so old, but yet so obsessed with talking about DB sports and defending Bronson. It's good to know you have that sick feeling when you see my name. Maybe because I am the 1 person that has an argument that you can't counter other than to come after me personally instead of what I am saying. Hmm.. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
  13. Nobody said Waco was wrong about the scoring averages. But, since you have the stats already figured out, how about you tell us where Bronson Flack stands on that list? Oh, and Waco, how many points did Flack have last night? Overbay on the radio said 2, but I am with the other guys on here and it is a complete travesty that Tom Taylor is gone.
  14. No. I do not have any other screen names on here.
  15. Waco you are an idiot. If you want to compare teams then let's do it: PG: Joey Blackwell vs Tremell McGue. Advantage 02-03. SG: Azmar Blye vs Todd Halvorsen. Advantage 02-03. SG: Henry Williams vs Justin Sylvester. Advantage 02-03. F: Jarrod Wooten vs. Marshall Hardy. Advantage 02-03. F: Thomas Harrison vs. Jordan Edwards. Advantage 02-03. Bench: 02-03 -- Seth Jervis, Lamon Williams, Phillip Tritapoe, David Begley, Ryan Blackwell, Walker Throp (may be some others I'm missing) 07-08 -- Jamel Williams, Adam Lytle, Dustin McConnell, Darren Riggs, Bronson Flack, Reed King, Darius Davis, Jerry Long (may be some others) Now that you have seen the "100% correct" comparison, just a few notes. The only questionable advantage I gave in the starting lineups was to Henry Williams over Justin Sylvester. And here are my reasons for that: 1. Henry could shoot the ball better. 2. Henry was bigger. 3. Henry was a longer defender which caused more problems. 4. Henry was an excellent, all-conference player in college. Now, with that said, before Justin's career is finished, he could pass up Henry and be a better player, but there is nothing that would justify listing him as a better player at this point. Brock, you are correct that noone in the area could handle the ball as well as Azmar except for maybe Joey Blackwell, who happened to be on his team. The 02-03 team would beat this years team down in all facets of the game. They had better ball handlers, shooters, and much better all around post play. I have come to the conclusion that the reason everyone is so obsessed with this year's DB team is that they are so much better than the other area teams. Granted, this is probably a fact, all though Science Hill may have something to say about that. However, DB has played 1 good team to this point, Farragut, and got their brains beat out, and that was without Farragut's football players. Coach Morgan likes to say that his teams aren't ready until mid-January. That may be the case. Either way, this team has played 1 good team, and lost to that team by 20 or so points.
  16. You chose not to respond to my prediction that Bronson will be the 3rd highest scoring post, at best, on this years DB team. Wonder why?? /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
  17. While that may be true with some people, my intention is not to make this about Jordan Edwards. My argument is that simply for his height (I would say size, but he is about 6'9", 155 lbs) he does not dominate games like he should. Regardless of his minutes, he should be dominating. I made the argument earlier and "Bronson's mom" even agreed that Bronson is not the best post player on this team. She said Hardy was, which I think he is the 2nd or 3rd best behind Edwards, but that's not the point. Waco wants to talk numbers, so let's talk numbers. At the end of this season, I guarantee you that Bronson will not be the 1st or 2nd scoring leader among DB's post players. All 4 of them play about the same amount of minutes, so at the end of the year we will check the numbers and see who did the most with the time they had. I guarantee you it will not be Flack.
  18. Waco, aka Bronson's boyfriend, you are clueless. First of all, Tom Taylor does not work on the radio with Eddie Durham. Mistake #1. By bringing up the people that have been on the DB bandwagon since the Van Huss days, you are much older than I thought, but yet you still post on a board about high school sports-- you must be a cool guy. Mistake #2. This is the only screen name I post under, and you can see my the volume of my posts that it is not very often that I do, because unlike you, I have a life and a job and family that commands more of my time than CoachT and arguing over high school sports. Mistake #3. Have a nice day clown. While I'm at it, Skunk this is directed to you. I know you have been around DB sports longer than I so I am asking for your opinion. I would like to hear from a KNOWLEDGABLE person if I may be wrong about this. Is this years team better than all of the other teams Morgan has had at DB? I know you have had 2 sons play on those other teams so I understand you could be a little biased, but do you think this team could guard and score on the teams of the past that Blye, H. Williams, J. Wooten, T. Harrison, and those guys played on?
  19. Here's the difference Wacoidiot, during Thomas's junior and senior year, DB was just as deep at post as they are now. The reason Thomas averaged around 20 points is not because he was one of Morgan's "favorites" or because the system was any different. It was because Thomas was a PLAYER and did things at 6'5" that Bronson can't even do at 6'9". Anyone who has spent any time around Charlie or his system would know how he runs things. You do things his way or you don't play. Well, an exception to that was Thomas. Thomas did what Thomas wanted to do, but when the lights came on, Thomas produced. No matter what he did in practice or trouble off of the court, Charlie had no choice but to play him because he was a gamer and you knew what you were going to get out of him night in and night out. As I said, this team does not have any Thomas Harrison-like players, therefore no one will come remotely close to averaging 20 points per game. And to the clown that said this team was better than the 02-03 and 03-04 teams, you are nuts. Tell me this, who on this team is going to guard the guys from that team? The 02-03 team would beat this team by at least 15 points in a scrimmage. Let me spell this out for you, the starting 5 on the 02-03 team was: PG: Joey Blackwell SG: Azmar Blye SG: Henry Williams F: Jarrod Wooten F: Thomas Harrison All 5 of those guys went on to play some form of basketball after college, if even for a little while. You students need to get off the computers and get back to studying or passing notes to your girlfriends because your defending of Bronson is not going to work with me. Why don't you spend your time defending Marshall Hardy, who Charlie called his "most improved player" and has already put up 20 points in a game, under the same system that Bronson plays in, yet he has never done that in his career.
  20. Waco I considered not even responding to you because you or anyone else that has any knowledge of basketball whatsoever would realize the Bronson has no future in basketball beyond high school. Seeing it any other way is just either a lack of knowledge or playing favorites. And I don't sit at every DB game and keep the stats in my book, but I can guarantee you this. The leading scorer is NOT Bronson Flack. Your argument is that with this system, it is impossible for anyone to average 20 points a game. To that I would say, you are WRONG. With this system and these players, you are correct, averaging that many points is not going to happen. My argument is that there are no Thomas Harrison-like players on this team who can dominate a game night in and night out like he did, Bronson included. Anyone that knows basketball will tell you that the two best post players on this DB team are 1) Jordan Edwards and 2) either Marshall Hardy or Darren Riggs. How can you defend Bronson and say he has a future and can be a solid college player when he's nothing but the 4th best post player on his own team at 6'9"?? You, my friend, are the MORON!
  21. I see every game and the system has not changed one bit. The only difference is that Morgan happens to have a little more depth than he has in the past. I would not say this is his best team though, and anyone that would claim that is simply wrong. If you think this team could beat the 02-03 team or the 03-04 team, both of which went to the state tournament, then I happen to disagree with you. I do not have anything against Bronson at all. I simply think that for a player of his size he should be dominating games, even if he is playing less time because of depth. Waco, I know you have a dislike for the system Coach Morgan runs and his coaching style, but regardless of depth, if a player had the abilities and did things right, don't you think Charlie would play him more minutes? And as for Bronson's mother, I can't help but wonder if you don't have better things to do than to get on CoachT and defend him, if you are even Bronson's mother at all. If Bronson plays in college, that is great for him and I hope he will use the discounted education to do something special with his life. However, for his height and wingspan, he simply does not dominate games as much as himself and others on this board like to claim. I could make a great case that Darren Riggs commands more of the paint than does Bronson and Darren is 6'5" at best.
  22. "LeBronson" will not play ball in college. Despite the fact that he is 6'9", he has terrible hands, no touch around the basketball, and no passing skills. The only thing he has going for him is an average midrange jumpshot, which is inconsistent to say the least. I watched him have one of the better games of his career at TN High the other night, and I would congratulate him for that, but I have also watched his playing time get less and less throughout the season because in the majority of games he doesn't produce. And about the excuse that it is the "system", tell Thomas Harrison, Jarrod Wooten, Anuj Sharma, Tony Salyers, and others that. They all put up numbers game in and game out and never used the system as an excuse. Thomas averaged around 20 points his Junior and Senior seasons under Charlie using the same system. He just simply got the job done while the majority of the time, Bronson does not. If Bronson ever steps on the court for Louisville, FSU, or any other relevant division 1 school, I will immediately cease watching college basketball.
  23. Major contributors? Like who? As I said in an earlier post, Sylvester does not play Junior Varsity anymore. McGue, McConnell, Riggs, and Edwards, albeit get significant minutes, are still no more than role players this year. There are no "major contributors" on the DB JV team. Sounds to me like you are the desperate one... Desperate to find something to get on DB about...
