  1. She deserves to be a finalist. The others chosen are good players, but what she has accomplished for herself as an individual and also for the Oliver Springs program, deserves that recognition. She is no doubt one of the best players in the state and she most certainly deserves to be mentioned AT LEAST.
  2. I believe that Cait will stay in Tennessee, but if she does go out of state, it will have to be somewhere with high credintials and something great to offer her. She is one of the best, if not THE best, players in the entire nation, and most definitely in the running for the best in the state in any age group or class. She is the real deal! I think her top choice will be to wear orange, but she may leave the safe confines of East TN and go out of state. She has the ability to play anywhere.
  3. I know for certain that Erica scored over 1,000. She was close to 2,000. Also, there were many players in the late 80's and early 90's from Wayne Co. that I remember scoring a lot of points. I don't know how close they were to 2,000, but I know they put up some numbers. Back to the post's topic, my sources from the Tennessean tell me that Natalie led the entire Mid-State in scoring and three's made this season as well as scoring over 50 and 2,000. She must be a pretty good player to do that.
  4. I was just wondering what everyone thoughts were on MVP's of a District. I know that some districts in Tennessee have a seasonal and tournament MVP, but what are your opinions on the MVP being on a below .500 team? Most say that they aren't an MVP if they aren't on the #1 or so team in the district, I don't think that is true. Do you think it should go to the best player, no matter where their team sits? I find this more and more in districts now. For example Meredith Richardson of Bradford. Her team is at 4-4 behind Lake Co. and Peabody. Yet, she is probably the unanimous MVP of the district. Or like with Lexington, Whitney Johnson should get it as well, but her team is 4th I believe, and below .500. Any thoughts?
  5. Casey Atterby, Kaci Baley, Brittni Tennison, Meredith McLemore, Jennifer Patterson, Latoya Bellamy are just a few more as well....
  6. What about Kristen Spann, Catie Woods, Sade Buley, Kristal Edney, Natalie Watson, Laura Cowley, Kori Knight, Michelle Snow, Bianca Thomas, Sha Brooks, Meredith Richardson, Crystal Eason, Jana Cross, Anne Marie Lanning, Brooke Sunday, Julie Richardson, Megan Thompson, Ashley Thompson, etc., etc. ??? All of these players are A LOT better than some of those you have listed. This posted should have just been named 'The Top 20 Players in EAST TENNESSEE'. If you are going to say that it is the 'Top 20 in the State' then you must include players outside East TN. There is a lot more talent throughout the state, and it is not just confined to East TN. All of the above names prove that.
  7. balla44 is your last name franks or meek.... ......heheehehehe
  8. Anyone can make a mistake and slip up in the heat of the moment like others have said, but it is always inappropriate to curse at a player. Behind closed doors, it can be hidden pretty well, but all in all it is a sad situation when men or women usually twice their players age, cannot express themselves in any other way than to verbally assault a player by cursing at them. I hate to see this happen, but it does happen often. High school does not need performances like Bobby Knight has given the basketball world. It is totally inappropriate for a college coach to do it (that is why he is no longer at Indiana), and there is no place for it in high school at all, behind the scenes or not. It should not be tolerated.
  9. CoachT (or any of the supervisors of the boards), I was just wondering what happened to the District 12A MVP thread? I had posted some things on there and was wanting to know if they got any response and I cannot find the thread anywhere? Did someone say something wrong on it to make you take it off? Or did it date out? Please help if anyone knows anything about it.
  10. I know a kid that in the past 3 games she has had 95 points and at least 10 boards plus around 5 assists and 5 steals if not more in each of those games as well. A friend of mine here in the Chattanooga area told me about her (it is his niece ) and he and I made the trip to see her play. He got the stats from the local newspapers out of curiosity.
  11. Hardin County is doing pretty well this year. They have played 5 games so far. Meredith McLemore is averaging about 18 points and 9 rebounds thru 4 games. Johnson is averaging about 7 points for the Lady Tigers in 4 games. They have lost some tough games and some that were very close, but their speed usually keeps them in it. Their underclassmen don't let up at all when they are in the game and they provide a lot of lift for the other players. I expect them to do well the rest of the season.
  12. Coach Hughes told me that Watson hit a three-pointer almost from half-court at the buzzer to win for Frank Hughes. I don't have anymore stats than that though.
  13. 1. WC/Summertown 2. WC/Summertown 3. Mt. Pleasant 4. Frank Hughes 5. Perry Co. 6. Santa Fe 7. CA 8. Hampshire 9. Collinwood 10. Zion
  14. I saw Community play in camp and they weren't much to look at, but I know that Brothers is a really good player. She is a solid guard with a lot of potential. She can pass it and shoot it well when she is on. Her ball handling skills have improved a lot and I am glad to see that. She should get some scholarship offers if she hasn't already. The only thing that may bring her down is her temper.... sometimes at herself and sometimes at others. It is good to be an emotional leader and that is what she is, but there is a fine line there. I have never seen her blow up to an extent where she crossed that line, but I have seen her come close in tight situations. She is a great player and I wish her the best. I will be following her successes; there will be many.
