  2. No, I think Covington is favored to win their game and one of the favorites to win State. They were the favorite last year as well but I'm not sure what happened to them down the stretch. McNairy led them for most of the Substate game and they ended up winning it 4-3 but then followed it up with an 0-2 or 1-2 appearance at State. They got alot back from that team including the 3 D1 guys. So, I'm riding with them being favored. In Region 7, I believe the two 13AA teams could be favored over 14AA this year. Depends on who it is and the match ups but I could see South Gibson and Westview and favorites over the teams from 14AA. But, I wouldn't consider them huge favorites and the Region 7 will be as wide open as 14AA district will be. The winner of Region 7 will be favored over the Region 8 runner-up.
  3. I dont know too much on 13AA but I would say Westview and South Gibson are the favorites and I would say Milan would be the other team to pick if someone outside of those 2 didn't make it. I know those two have had good overall seasons. In 14AA, Scotts Hill and Lexington finished at the top and both have been playing well lately. But, I think any of the top 5 seeds can finish in the top 2.
  4. District Tournament Bracket 1 Scotts Hill (12-2) vs 8 Adamsville (1-13) 4 Riverside (8-6) vs 5 McNairy (7-7) 2 Lexington (11-3) vs 7 Chester (3-11) 3 Northside (8-6) vs Southside (6-8)
  5. Scotts Hill sweeps Northside 13-3, 8-5 Lexington sweeps Riverside 6-2, 9-6 McNairy Sweeps Chester 2-1, 10-0 Adamsville split Southside 4-3, 2-8
  6. District 13-AA Final Standings 1. Westview 7-3 2. South Gibson 7-3 3. Milan 5-5 4. Obion 5-5 5. Dyersburg 3-7 6. Crockett Co 3-7
  7. I would say the only game I would call an upset in the 1st round would be Adamsville beating Scotts Hill. Lexington would get Chester and Huntt will be going for Chester that game. He has kept them in every game and he has had the lead in a couple games but had to come out because of pitch count and the bullpen blew the game. So, I wouldn't be surprised if Chester was able to win in the 1st round. I would say the two games involving 3-6 seeds involving Northside, Riverside, McNairy, and Southside will be toss ups and would not be surprised at any of those teams winning in the 1st round. I believe the tournament will be wide open and a number of teams can win it. Scotts Hill has the momentum going in and are the favorite. But, they got some injuries and Maness may or may not be able to go on the mound. So, its important not for just them but for everyone to stay in the winner's bracket as long as possible because no one has a very deep pitching staff. Some only have two and others may have three pitchers, once they get past them, it's a free for all.
  8. Scotts Hill def Northside 13-3 Lexington def Riverside 6-2 McNairy def Chester 2-1 Adamsville def Southside 4-3 Below are where we stand for district seeding which just Northside and Riverside fighting for the 3 seed 1. Scotts Hill 2. Lexington Northside gets 3 seed with a win or Riverside loss 3. Northside/Riverside 4. Northside/Riverside 5. McNairy 6. Southside 7. Chester Co 8. Adamsville
  9. District Schedule for the Week Final week of the district schedule and the only seed that is nailed down is Adamsville in the 8th. We know who the top 4 seeds will be but we do not know the order. And to help out that order, the top 4 four teams all face off against each other this week. Series of the Week Scotts Hill (10-2) vs Northside (8-4) Scotts Hill will clinch the District Regular Season with a win in either game. Northside can win the District with a sweep and Riverside sweeping Lexington. They would finish 2nd behind Lexington with a sweep and Lexington winning 1 game against Riverside. Other series: Lexington (9-3) vs Riverside (8-4) The only way Lexington can win the district is by Northside sweeping Scotts Hill and Lexington winning at least one game. Riverside can not win the district but they can finish 2nd with a sweep of Lexington and Northside losing a game. McNairy (5-7) vs Chester Co (3-9) McNairy can finish 5th with a sweep of Chester Co. Chester Co can finish 6th with a sweep of McNairy, otherwise they finish 7th. Southside (5-7) vs Adamsville (0-12) Southside can finish 5th as long as they don't tie with just McNairy or if they finish in a 3-way tie at 5-9 with McNairy and Chester. Otherwise, they are 6th. Adamsville will be the 8th seed.
  10. Week 6 Schedule Series of the Week Scotts Hill (8-2) vs McNairy (5-5) Scotts Hill playing to stay atop of the district and setup a major showdown with Northside next week. McNairy has 4 district losses where they had a multiple run lead or had a chance to win in the bottom of the 7th. Rest of the Series: Riverside (6-4) vs Adamsville (0-10) Northside (7-3) vs Southside (4-6) Lexington (8-2) vs Chester Co. (2-8)
  11. Standings after Week 5: 1. Scotts Hill (8-2) 1. Lexington (8-2) 3. Northside (7-3) 4. Riverside (6-4) 5. McNairy (5-5) 6. Southside (4-6) 7. Chester Co (2-8) 8. Adamsville (0-10)
  12. Southside trailed 6-0 in the 5th with two outs and ended up scoring 8 runs in the inning and went on to win 12-8. Lexington beat Adamsville 5-2.
  13. Northside come through with two big 1- run wins tonight against Riverside 8-7, 6-5 . It sounded like two exciting games as Riverside left the tying run at 3rd with 1 out in one game and the tying run was throwed out at the plate in the other game. It was very close to being a chaos of a day in the district as well. Scotts Hill won their 1st game over Chester 8-5 with Chester threatening in the 7th and no outs. But in game 2, Chester took a 6-2 lead into the 5th only to give it up and lose 7-6. Not only did Scotts Hill survive a scare, but Lexington managed to avoid the upset by Adamsville tonight. Trailing 6-4 going into the 7th, Lexington scored 5 in the inning to come back and win 9-7. McNairy defeated Southside 8-1.
  14. District Schedule for this week: Series of the Week Riverside (6-2) vs Northside (5-3) It's a tie between 3-teams in 1st place and Northside sitting in 4th 1-game behind. This series is the only one that has two above .500 teams playing against each other. Riverside is playing to stay in front and Northside could throw themselves into the race for 1st with a sweep. Rest of the games: Scotts Hill (6-2) vs Chester (2-6) Lexington (6-2) vs Adamsville (0-8) McNairy (4-4) vs Southside (3-5)
  15. Standings after Week 4 1. Lexington 6-2 1. Riverside 6-2 1. Scotts Hill 6-2 4. Northside 5-3 5. McNairy 4-4 6. Southside 3-5 7. Chester 2-6 8. Adamsville 0-8 This district is wide open and the tournament will be as well. As of right now, on any night almost any team can win.
  16. Scotts Hill and Lexington split 11-1, 7-8 McNairy and Riverside split 3-2, 8-11 Southside sweeps Chester 2-1, 8-0 Northside sweeps Aville 12-4, 7-5
  17. Monday Scores Scotts Hill over Lexington 11-1 McNairy over Riverside 3-2 Southside over Chester 2-1 Northside over Adamsville 12-4
  18. Week 4 Schedule Series of the week Scotts Hill (5-1) vs Lexington (5-1) The county rivalry has a big impact on the district this week. A sweep by either team will put them in the driver's seat of the district. Scotts Hill has already played and split with Riverside, so a sweep means they are playing teams positioned 4 and below the rest of the way. For Lexington, a sweep here gives them sweeps over Scotts Hill, McNairy, and Northside. It would put them in the spot of taking care of business against Riverside and locking the 1 spot up. Rest of the Schedule Riverside (5-1) vs McNairy (3-3) Northside (3-3) vs Adamsville (0-6) Chester (2-4) vs Southside (1-5)
  19. All series were sweeps this week. Lexington over Northside 8-2, 4-2 Riverside over Chester 4-1, 20-12 Scotts Hill over Southside 13-2, 10-2 McNairy over Adamsville 6-3, 15-6 Standings after week 3 1. Lexington 5-1 1. Riverside 5-1 1. Scotts Hill 5-1 4. McNairy 3-3 4. Northside 3-3 6. Chester 2-4 7. Southside 1-5 8. Adamsville 0-6
  20. Scotts Hill 13-2 Lexington 8-2 McNairy beat Aville 6-3 Saturday and 15-6 last night. Moved games up because they are on spring break this week.
  21. Week 3 Schedule Series of the Week Lexington (3-1) vs Northside (3-1) A sweep by either team could put them in a good position to finish in the top 3 and set them up to make a run at the district crown. Other Series Mcnairy (1-3) vs Adamsville (0-4) Scotts Hill (3-1) vs Southside (1-3) Riverside (3-1) vs Chester Co (2-2)
  22. Would that be Maness? I noticed he hasn't been throwing district games and I figured he would be the #1.
  23. You are correct, pitching was hit hard in the district by graduation. It's going to be a free for all on how it shakes out and it will make for an interesting district tournament. If anyone develop some consistency in their staff, it will put them a leg up on everyone. By the boxscores I've seen throughout the district, a lot of walks are being give up.
  24. Riverside and Scotts Hill split 6-1, 3-10 Southside and Lexington split 8-4, 5-7 Northside and McNairy split 7-4 (8), 0-9 Chester sweeps Adamsville 7-6, 18-9 Standing over week 2 1. Lexington 3-1 1. Northside 3-1 1. Riverside 3-1 1. Scotts Hill 3-1 5. Chester Co. 2-2 6. McNairy 1-3 6. Southside 1-3 8. Adamsville 0-4
  25. TCA returns a lot back from last year team that was 1 win away from playing for a state championship.
