  1. Just to restate, Jamison Link is not a powerful pocket passer by any means. But I think he could have a 100 yard rushing day against the steel curtain. Let's not forget his 228 yard game vs. Smyrna and his accomplishment of being the Titans' player of the week. Go Green Wave.
  2. Let's not overlook Defensive coaches. Marcus Walls of Gallatin entered the Wave team in 02 only for the Wave to go 10-3. Gallatin held several of these teams to under 150 yards of offense. Last year, 11-1 and held McGavock to 23 yards... Not bad coming from a less than .500 season in 01...
  3. 1. Trousdale Co. 2. Smith Co. 3. Macon Co. 4. York 5. Portland Numbers 4 and 5 could be interchangable... Portland makes the playoffs, possibly second round, but meets one of their big rivals and gets demolished.
  4. I have to say that Portland has never been the same after losing their 02 grad. class. Last year they were lucky to go 5-7... Also, I think they are lucky to be 2-2 this year. The Macon County game could have easily gone the other way. Their offense is between decent and good, but the defense is atrocious. I have to say, though, I am somewhat impressed at the kind of pocket passer Casey Allen is. I say Portland finishes 5-5, squeezes into the playoffs, and gets trounced by either the Owls or the Yeller Jackets. Even if they somehow meet up with Macon county again, it ain't gonna be pretty.
  5. I attended the Smyrna vs. Blackman game last week.... And as badly as I wanted to see the Blaze do something, they let me down.. While Wolke didn't exactly have a Mr. Football game, David Shannon picked up the slack. This could be a huge problem for Blackman--Gallatin is a dominate running team with a fullback similar in size to Shannon. Tailback, fullback, Link or McFarland... , my prediction is that The Green Wave will have 300 rushing yards and win this one by at least 3 scores.
  6. I don't know if anyone has posted this or not yet.... But even though Brentwood's defense is one of the best in the state, they will have a tough time defending the run from Smyrna.. The Run??-- you say.... The Bruins better watch out for David Shannon to be running the delay up the middle, otherwise Wolke and his offense will have their way with the defendin' 5A champs. It'll be a close one, but I am gonna have to say Smyrna in this one by less than 10.
