  1. Marion County - Brentwood Academy state championship (1994 or 1995?)...Left that town devistated! Even to this day, I hear stories from people on business trips to Brentwood...Brentwood won't even acknowledge that Marion County people exist..
  2. This game holds no importance in viewing...I'm calling a blowout, Marion 26 (Joefus will hit one PAT) Tellico 0. Good luck Warriors. AC
  3. Whitvol, Bill, and Del..It's time to move on. There's nothing that can be said or done to change the outcome of the game..Congrats to Grundy, better luck next time Whitwell. But I must say, it just goes to show that the game has to be played..The pre-game paper full of the previous weeks's stats won't win games for any team. AC
  4. If they play like a Middle school team, it'll be worse than 28. Marion by 29.
  5. H-bomb is your nickname, man. Here you go man, ask any player on the team if they hear Joanie Spangler's airhorn while they're on the field. And by the way, noisemakers aren't needed in the SEC. LSU, Auburn, and Tennessee have the three loudest stadiums in the nation. Noisemakers wouldn't be heard over those crowds.
  6. It has nothing to do with consistency, H-Bomb. It's all about the setting you're in. Football is outdoors, and doesn't require the same type of concentration that basketball (and I know it was a joke), or golf. Noise makers are outlawed in sports where they can change the game. If noise makers are loud enouh to interrupt an offenses plays, then they're asked to be removed, plain and simple. AC
  7. It'll take a lot to beat Tyner. Not many 2A teams could match them. Goodpasture would get beat, and David Lipscomb would be close. I think Lipscomb and Tyner would be a good game, Tyner coming out on top...That game would just come down to whoever had the ball in the last 2 or 3 minutes in the game.
  8. Good call Shawn. Sequatchie isn't going to beat Tyner..It's just not going to happen, so everyone can forget about that. Second off, if Marion beats Bledsoe, and Tellico, and loses to Meigs, they'll still be 2nd in the region. If it comes down to a tie between Marion and Sequatchie, Marion'll be ahead 'cuz they beat Sequatchie in the regular season. Simply said: It'll take a miracle to get Marion out of the 2nd regional spot.
  9. I agree coach, it'll take an upset over Tyner for Sequatchie. As it stands now, Marion is a half game back on Sequatchie because they have one more win, but the same number of losses in the region. If Tyner wins, Sequatchie drops to 3-2 in the region, and if Marion beats Bledsoe, they'll go to 3-1. Marion will have to win the rest of their regional games to stay at 2nd in the region. I just hope Marion wins out to avoid the huge mess that they'll create.
  10. Yeah, Shawn's an idiot. That kid needs to go somewhere and sit down..And Tyner, please, don't hurt Jordan. AC Shawn says 45 'cuz that's how bad I beat him on NCAA 2004, Oklahoma vs. Ohio State. Oklahoma all the way baby.
  11. Hey folks, AC here full of insight and fury (maybe not)..Anyway, in two days, there's a big regional game between Bledsoe an Marion. This is important for Marion to win and stay 2nd in the region, however, if Bledsoe pulls one out, they'll move up and leave Marion devistated. That loss will definately put Marion out of a chance for homefield advantage in the playoffs. I believe whoever turns the ball over the fewest times will win this one...What do you think?
  12. Alright, here we go one by one..War dawg, learn to spell before submitting a post. I'll leave you with that. Beene, the Bear Bryant comment was just retarded. Bear Bryant holds the record for the most wins of any coach. When any highschool coach can match or beat that, then we'll have a discussion. But hey, I give you credit, because it could be worse. And now for you, onemoretime. No talent on the field? So how would you explain Tyler Moore sprinting an extra 10 yards and laying out for a pass and still coming up with the catch? He (not THe, I got it) has shown amazing ability this season..So has Sean Coffelt, John Patrick, Jody Jones, and Dustin (Cecil) Paris. These are the big playmakers, and they work really well together..So, as for the talent on the field, next time you're around, check out one of those five, you'll be surprised. And you say you needed a good laugh this morning..How about Ted wouldn't rule the field like a drill instructor. Ted wouldn't dog a player for doing bad, and dog him worse for doing well, it's just as simple as that..So here's a good laugh: do everyone a favor, unplug your computer, and enjoy a big bowl of brown. (Don't forget the shampoo!).
  13. I hear a lot about Marion's talent...Marion is a talented team, it's the coaching that bites them in the butt. I don't care what anyone says, if a coach calls a spike on 4th down with a chance to win, then that's his fault, that has nothing to do with talent. As far as that goes, look at Fat Phil with UT..He's the worst coach I've ever seen. It'll take a tremendous amount of talent (like the '98 team) to ever win a national championship again. If I had a say so, Ted Ladd would be our head coach, not Tim Taylor. AC
  14. Hey man, if we knew we were beat, nobody would show up. This game isn't over, not yet by a long shot. So I'll give you some advice, strap your helmet on face-mask foward, and be ready to play.
  15. Shawn Dalton. He's a senior this year, and had knee surgery after his sophomore year. Something happened in the Sequatchie game, and he ended up with bursitis. He decided to bench himself for the rest of the season. He said he'd be willing to come in at halftime if things are real bad tommorrow night, but he doesn't want to risk having to go through surgery and therapy again.
  16. If they can plug everything back in and eliminate the "issues" I'd stack them up against anybody. We have a ton of talent, but they're not playing up to their potential. Maybe they can break loose Friday. Del. I agree. I don't know if they lack determination or what, but whatever it is, they'll figure it out soon. Who do they play Friday, Del? AC
  17. Should be a good game. Both teams have strong starts, and this should be a slobber knocker. Sequatchie by 14. AC
  18. Look for Grundy to get their 2nd wind. Once they pick it up, all bets are off. AC
  19. There's only one of the key players that are injured. The rest of them didn't feel their injuries were enough to keep them off the field. I think Marion should do well enough with that one missing spot. This will be a good game, but I still don't have a prediction. When game time gets closer, I may have one.
  20. RLH has a point..Usually at the MC/SP games, there are cops standing on each side of the track in the endzones, preventing anyone from one side walking to the other side. I think people take it way too far. I have some friends at SP that won't recognize me, or anyone else from MC until the game is over..It's pretty ridiculous..But I can't wait for Friday, it's still going to be fun. By the way, anyone have any realistic predictions? I haven't seen one yet. More to come AC
  21. 1.Tyner 2.Marion 3.Sequatchie 4.Polk 5.Meigs 6.Bledsoe 7.Tellico Plains
  22. I think T.J. is between 19 and 21. I know he's two grades ahead of me, but he may be older than just 2 years. I know he's not any older than 21. Anyway, let's talk about the game before this thread gets locked..I'd like for it to last at least until the game. AC
  23. I was pulling for SP against Boyd, in spite of the majority of my friends pulling for Boyd. I always pull for the SVC teams when they play out of the conference. From what I saw, SP just stopped trying when the 4th quarter started...Either that, or Boyd was just playing at a more magnified level. It seemed like SP had a hard time getting anything started. AC
  24. Maybe I took it a little too far..Families haven't necessarily split up, but it often becomes the source of argument between family members. It could eventually split up the family, because that topic becomes the elephant sitting in the living room..It's on everyone's mind, but no one says anything 'til it almost makes them squeege their pants. I'm sure it's happened before, but more often than not, it hasn't split up families. Anyway, let's get this thread strictly back to football before a moderator locks it up. AC
