  1. IMO... Marion will play with heart and emotion...but there are 3 main reasons SP will beat the Warriors: 1) speed 2) speed 3) speed Get the idea? Way too many weapons... SP 40 MC 13
  2. Anyone have an update on the game ???
  3. "Woodlee, I know coaches and I am assuming may teach." Kim is presently not coaching...although she did for a while... She is curently a Physician's Assistant in Nashville...specializing in orthopedic surgery.
  4. This will be a game...for a little while... But South Pitt has WAY too much for TC...in my opinion... SP 35 TC 14
  5. Just what a message board needs... Another "noitall" to log on and make negative statements about a team or program you probably know very little about. Grundy's kids have played hard all year...and with what they went through last year...it's no wonder the program has struggled. How about using your energy in a more positive manner... Thanks.
  6. South Pittsburg wins...by a bunch... Don't feel bad, though...they're gonna beat everyone by a bunch...
  7. Polk County making fun of Grundy County for being "backwoods" and "Hickville?" Now that's funny...
  8. Anyone with info about this game ??? Any updates would be appreciated... tee1up
  9. I'm not condoning it...at all...I'm just saying that it seems many coaches these days obviously feel an ever increasing pressure to compromise their values in some situations (especially for minor things) to try and win more games... I've been around high school athletics a long time and have seen many instances where coaches have to decide whether to get fired for losing (i.e...benched 2-3 starters for breaking team rules)...or for not being tough enough...even though you may have a good program...(that didn't win enough games)... You see it in college ALL the time...and more and more in high school...at least it seems... That's all...
  10. So here's the all too common dilemma for coaches in this day and age. a) Coach players hard, teach them good values, character, discipline, hard work, etc... and they will QUIT because either they're not tough enough...or the parents run a campaign to get rid of him/her... or... Recruit the best players, regardless of character, let them run wild...and hopefully win a lot of games...and move on to a better job before the community catches on... Seems like a no win situation to me... What do you all think?
  11. Any idea why ??? I was there and didn't see much other than some minor pushing and shoving...and coaches/administrators doing a great job at getting things under control in a hurry. Just a typical rival game with high emotion on both sides...in my opinion.
  12. Hats off to Marion...one of the classiest things I've heard in some time. You guys can't imagine how much that moment will mean to this young lady...I know her well and can't wait to hear her description of the night's events... Marion...your school and community should be very proud. Especially given the history and the well known Grundy/Marion rivalry... A real rivalry is all about playing hard...playing fair...and doing what's right...and you did... Sometimes a small gesture can make a HUGE difference. Thanks from a Grundy fan.
  13. That is pretty funny...but if you're going to try and sound like a true scientist...then at least use the proper term. The "string" you refer to is actually a "strain." (s-t-r-a-i-n)...not string. Other than that, a darn funny post. Unless, of course...Bledsoe wins.
  14. For what it's worth...the way I understand the "5 second rule" is as follows: A player who is being CLOSELY GUARDED has 5 seconds to either pass the ball, dribble, or escape the defender...which would restart the count once the player is closely guarded... In other words...a player who catches a pass could...technically...hold the ball for 4 seconds...begin dribbling for 4 seconds...then stop dribbling for 4 seconds...LEGALLY...while being closely guarded. If you watch the better officials, they will actually switch arms during the count...thereby indicating a reset of the 5 second count... That is...if I understand the rule correctly...
