  1. looking forward to the game, greeneville-- may none get hurt-- you've got a good kicker---how's his year going?
  2. d-- sitting with my wife near the press box, wearing a green nike cap and paying close attention to number 16-- and way to go vols--maybe we can go against auburn again--
  3. hey dip- 16 is fillmore, the kicker--19 is moore, the punter--the radio announcer keeps calling 19 fillmore--and yes, moore does have a nice average--if he ever got his technique down he would be something else-- correction on minnich--I understand he had back spasms which can certainly hurt your throws-- I saw 21 our fullback limping, james with his hamstring, minnich with his back, 86 was hurting, fillmore pulled his groin--hope all these guys can get well by friday-- your right about the adjustments--along with what you mentioned 50 was moved back to right tackle where he played last year-- good luck to the trojans with greeneville--
  4. 007 your employer needs an attitude adjustment-- hope you can make the greeneville game--
  5. 007- didn't see any red face at the game last night-- you ok?--could you not make it?-- your post made it sound like you weren't there--
  6. dip- it was a different team last night-- I saw some serious hits out there--don't want anybody to get hurt, but, man, some real hits-- defense played much better--one letdown, though, gave dchs rb about 95 yds on one play and probably over 100 yds in the 1st quarter!--can't let that happen anymore!-- we ran well--ewing looked good--hated to see james on the sidelines, though--heard it was hamstring-- minnich ran the offense well--connected on a td pass that hopefully gets him over the hump confidence-wise on his passing-- 4 qb--king?--going to be a good one-- good to see our kicker finally connect on a field goal--kickoffs and coverage improved over last two games-- not trying to put down dchs, but wonder how we would have looked against a stronger team-- still don't see that team cohesiveness on the sidelines--not that everyone hates each other but it just doesn't seem like all are into it 100%--maybe they are when playing but need to be when not playing too--sometime you just got to fake it then the real thing takes over-- don't no how far we can go--keep reading from some about building for next year--that's good but we've got some seniors on the team that this year is it for them and I think west has the capability this year to go far into the playoffs--but one game at a time--gotta beat greeneville-- trojans, dig deep--play hard, play hurt--play every down as if it's your last one--finish the season knowing you played the best that you could--for your team, for your teammates, for you, for your family-- as you say, d, through thick and thin--
  7. not there yet but moving in the right direction-- nice to get a win before we go against greeneville-- way to play, west!
  8. d's thanks for the kind words-- best of luck to the trojans tonight and I hope no players on either team get hurt-- see you there--
  9. I'm with dip-- any other fans like to comment, show their support?-- Trojans, I'm with you all the way----
  10. trg- nice tribute for, as you said, a thankless job-- last year, I told the parents of the holder for my son I appreciated the job he (the holder) did-- I'll do the same this year (same parents, different son)--
  11. mr t and d I'm not sure how to respond-- the boys worked hard during the summer working out and busted it preseason trying to get ready-- I see them on the field getting blown out by a team yet not giving up-- I can't speak to the leadership or the lack thereof and won't speak to the coaching- all I can say is that I support the players 100% and I believe they can turn things around--
  12. dipper if, in fact, part of the problem is that they don't play as a team, then I hope some of the players see your post and take it to heart and pass it on and do it-- thanks for showing your support GO TROJANS!
  13. dude! this is a good question but I don't think it's the right time-- I would imagine that there are people who know and those that can surmise and those that can extrapolate from all that they read and see on coacht and in the zentrib-- I would ask (please note! I am asking, not demanding--you have the right to say on here whatever within the confines of coacht's rules) that those who know or would guess what might be the problem(s) with morristown west's football team leave it be until after the season-- I believe it would serve no purpose at this time (and maybe not even after the season is over with--I don't know)-- I would ask that if you are a trojan fan that you continue to support the program and the players--they might not be playing the best they can but it does look like they are playing as hard as they can-- if you ever played high school football you always remember the experience--hopefully things will turn around where the kids will have good memories of this year-- thanks
  14. hey dipman 4 looked good but had east let up with the game in hand? I've always liked minnich--not flashy but a sound player (prefer to see those shorter passes than to the ones downfield, though) remember, our problem wasn't so much offense as it was defense (better tackling and containment?) anyway, like you said, through thick and thin
  15. 007 my face was red, too, but it wasn't paint
  16. eastsenior well, I stayed til the bitter end-- hard to watch 1st half-- start of second half it looked like we were coming back, then east got another one- great win for east-- I was thinking at the end of the game why doesn't east put in the 2nd team, then I remembered--east doesn't have enough players for a second team! the game should be good to get the younger ones interested in east football and come out and play-- good luck for the rest of the season-- there's supposed to be a chinese symbol for crisis---it's the same symbol used for opportunity
  17. congratulations to east for the win-- maybe you mowest players are not in the mood right now to read this--but I'm behind you all the way--and I believe many others are, too-- one thing that stands out to me last night, and I might be wrong, but I did not see any quitters out there through the whole game--and I appreciate that-- remember, the season is not over! and you do have fans that support you!
  18. transplant read the articles by brice maybe it would be more appropriate if he did his trash talking on coacht? on second thought, no need to bring coacht down
  19. re suffridge I've heard/read several stories about his speed one was neyland was complaining about him going offsides during practice or being called for it during a game--they looked at the film and he had not moved before the ball was snapped the other was him blocking a pat three times in a row being called offsides each time (played both ways) and the film proved otherwise
  20. for your consideration bob suffridge--knox central and ut college football news--#80 of top 100 http://www.collegefootballnews.com/Top_100...20Suffridge.htm "You talk about the heyday of Tennessee football and most modern football fans will look at the amazing success the Vols have had in the 90's. What many don't know is just how good Tennessee was many, many years before. The same way Knute Rockne built up Notre Dame, Robert Neyland made Tennessee a power after being named head coach in 1926. During the 1930's, Neyland and the Vols went on unbeaten streaks of 33 and 28 games. After the Army took away Neyland from 1934 to 1935, Neyland came back in 1936 and put together another dynasty which really started rolling in 1938. The best player on his teams from 1938 to 1940 was guard Bob Suffridge. Suffridge paved the way to a 30 game win streak and helped the defense which shut out 10 consecutive opponents in 1939. From 1938 through 1940, they held opponents scoreless for 71 straight quarters with 17 straight shutouts. On a team with three college football Hall of Famers, Suffridge was the star with a 1940 season that ranks among the best ever for a lineman. Honors: College Football Hall of Fame - 1961 Finished 4th in Heisman Trophy voting - 1940 Knute Rockne Memorial Lineman of the Year - 1940 Atlanta Touchdown Club SEC Player of the Year - 1940 All-SEC - 1938, 1939, 1940 All-American - 1938, 1939, 1940 Tennessee Hall of Fame - 1961 Named to All-Time SEC team FFWA All-Time Team "
  21. tkb25 are you asking for opinions or for what someone might know as far as players' desires, contacts by schools, coaches' recommendations and opinions? coacht does have the prospect database seniors listed are james minnich fillmore mclellan should be on it
  22. thanks starsnbars I don't know what happened to our fullback anybody?
  23. insider thanks for the positive comment from an outsider hitman thank you we're behind you, trojans!
  24. hip quip dip thanks for your contribution-- all members of a team are important and I have encouraged my kids to be on teams both for the physicality of it but also to give them something to do--if they're with a team, they're usually staying out of trouble-- as for the coaches, I'm staying out unless my son requests my help-- there are some issues that I would possibly address at the end of the season, but I believe any comments at this time are not helpful and could possibly be disruptive-- thanks for supporting motown!
  25. I think someone else needs some LOVE! come on, east fans! somebody start a thread and show these east players you support them! they've had it hard for a while and had a great game this week! show 'em you care! having played against both teams and beaten both, you love 'em both (old 15th century south korean proverb)
