  1. yes that is right central did start alot of juniors and sophomores on both sides of the ball. Of course we will lose jackson and shavar but dada gaston will play tailback and terence scott #1 will play flanker. The only major problem is we lose our O line except for 1. but we have 4 returning players that have plenty of experience on friday nights we just need a few to step up. On defense we lose shavar in the dbs but have players that can step up in his position. all 3 linebackers will be back. both DEs will be back. we lose 2 DL starters but have 2 or 3 that have experience there so it will be a great matchup next year.
  2. I am not going to sit here and talk about the last matchup. All that matters is tonights matchup between these two teams. Maryville will have an advantage in that they have been here before and have experienced the pressure. Central will have motivation to win this game for their coach. Both teams will leave everything out on the field tonight in a heck of a game. I think it will be a nailbitter till the end never knowing who is really going to win for sure until that final buzzer goes off. I know Central respects Maryville and I am sure Maryville respects Central and i hope to see a classy gridiron battle tonight in maryville. Good luck to both teams. But Go Cats!!!!
  3. First of all this week has been one of the best weeks of practice for the bobcats. we were very focused on the task we have to deal with tonight. Coach Mac knows the offense just as well as he knows his defense he just will maybe take a lil time figuring out which plays will work. As for the post that said central wasn't at full strength against maryville, i was the DB that was out with the flu and so weak i couldn't stand up longer than bout 10 mins. But it wouldn't of made a huge factor in the game other than making a few tackles that zach missed and thats about all. but prayers will be with coach helton and tonight is for you.
  4. Coach Helton tonight is for you. and strongarm which one is your son because i played for coach helton this summer and just wanted to know who it was.
  5. young will play and be a factor in the game. As for everyone talking about central getting a break in the maryville game on that punt. Yeah they did but football is a game of who makes the least mistakes and who capitalizes on mistakes of the other team. So it could go either way. We will hopefully see in about a week but West comes first and lets get back to that game.
  6. i mean if you are talking about key players that touch the ball alot during the game and is a big playmaker, yeah 3 or 4 of them would change a team. But the kids that go to central may touch the ball a total of about 3 times a game thats all of them put together. But no i have seen lockwood play QB recently he played it a little i think his midget year and super midget year. and the option is hard to read but its common sense if he takes dive keep and read end if he takes pitch give the dive. i mean i have tried it and it just takes some getting used to is all.
  7. just post your final score prediction
  8. redbyrd he may not be all that bright but football wise he isn't that bad. I mean you can be dumb as dirt but be able to know football. I mean for the option all you have to read is if the tackle takes the dive or not and then read off of the end it's not to hard if you just work at it. And as for the comment of players staying at halls who were supposed to be. Your telling me that 3 or 4 players could just make halls so much better. I mean they have the tallent they just need to find out how to use it. Trust me I played with those guys up until high school and we won championships almost every year but why not in high school. They just need to find out how to use their tallent thats all. Once they do halls will be big contenders.
  9. I don't think halls coaching is that bad it's just that they have some kids in the wrong postitions. I mean don't get me wrong Trey Lucas is pretty good but i have seen Lockwood play QB and he is pretty good to. If you had Lockwood at QB with Mynatt in the backfield and not at receiver; and if you put Josh Brock and Cameron Sharp at receivers you will be alright by running the option and then if you need to spread the field with more athletes Lucas at QB and then move Lockwood to a Flanker or Back. Lucas is good enough to start but if you had Lockwood at QB running the option could be more effective. Halls also has pretty decent speed with Mynatt, Lockwood (when he wants to try), Cameron Sharp and several others. Its just postioning and finding what works with this pool of kids.
  10. I heard Coach Kevin Julian from halls has also applied or talked with AD at clinton.
  11. just to throw some names out besides stanton and helton. you have lockwood from halls and cody watts from powell. Both are having pretty good seasons probably will not will this award but to be considered.
  12. I also know coach Julian pretty well and have always liked him and would love for him to get the Head Coaching job at Clinton. He would do great things for Clinton and who knows here in the next couple years he may have a team that can compete in region 3. Good Luck coach Julian.
  13. Central will be fired up and ready to go tonight, as will Powell. Powell has alot more riding on this game than Central though, so i look for it to be a tough game but still Central by 2-3 TDs.
  14. Will West make a run in the playoffs, upsetting big teams? West has been tough to handle this year giving Central and Maryville a handful! Can they upset some teams in the playoffs and make a strong run this year?
  15. as for hallzballz that is most likely zane mathews. and yes i am kenny brewer and i do live in halls but no i did not go to central b/c kevin lane asked me to or coach smith. i came to central because when i was in 8th grade halls did not pass alot and being a receiver i wanted to go somewhere that passed more. I considered powell, webb, and central. And i heard from former central players that coach helton was good with helping players get scholarships so i was leaning towards central. Then when i had pretty much narrowed it down to central, coach smith got a job there and so i knew one of my friends lee smith would be going there so it finalized the decision for me. No one recruited me or asked me to come there i was planning on going to a school that had more of a passing offense. But as for the game, guys i played with most of the guys from halls that start on defense and yeah you may be able to stop jackson but it will be 10-20 yards down the field most of the time and not trying to say you all stink i mean i know you all don't i played with you guys all my life and almost every year we either won the championship or came in 2nd and i know the sophomore class at halls won it every year almost so you guys have tallent but what happened when you got to high school? Its the coaching i think. why isn't jake mynatt and chase lobetti your tailbacks and jeffrey lockwood your quarterback? I mean think of that combo you can run option with pretty much 2 tailbacks out there and i know he has a gun i have seen him throw so i mean why isn't he playing qb? its just things like that that would make you guys one of the state contenders in 4a! but this will be a good game central by 17.
