  1. Your right, when you shoot that good AND shoot 20 more free throws, and only foul 9 times to the other teams 22. I would say that is the recipe for a tail kickin.
  2. The intensity left when Coach Decker left. That man might have been one of the best motivators I have ever been around. Now as far as Diggers, you cannot compare him to Bowling because they came in with two totally different situations. When Bowling came in it was after Chris Hill left, who deserves A LOT of the credit for help turning around the OCCHS program (as does Bowling). Hill brought discipline and attention to the smallest detail when it came to the program, and showed the kids what a hard working attitude can do. They began to have success and brought excitement to OCCHS. Then he leaves (went to Ark, and took a struggling program to the state championship in two years...good job running him off), and Bowling steps in. Bowling brings a more caring approach with a little less discipline and less attention to detail, but was not bad and did a good job. Both had offenses that the team could take in as their own for they were the only ones around doing it. With a combination of Hill's and Bowling's hard work it produced the best season in OCCHS history. After that group left, OCCHS put up big numbers, and Bowling always had them able to compete but the Rebels never could catch a break to get a vicotry. I don't think we have made the playoffs after the 2nd round playoff season....So now diggers has the tough task that Hill had when he came. Give him time; the program was not turned around in a year...Good Luck Rebels, and Good Luck to Coach Bowling at Dyersburg I wish you the best.
  3. I'm fresh out of college, and i am ashamed at the way high school kids act. Yeah we did some things that made people mad, but when we were told to straighten up we did. It all starts with the parents, sorry if you don't have both, but that is still no excuse. I had only one parent too, but i had something call respect, and common since. Kids today have neither, we are to busy trying to be a THUG! In todays society thats something that some think is a good thing (songs). I guess those who do sag want to go back to there roots from the prison days, when that stated you were........My all time favorite saying has to be "YOU DON'T KNOW ME. YOU DON'T KNOW WHERE I COME FROM. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I BEEN THROUGH".....hahaha. I always tell them yeah, but if you don't straighten up i know where you'll be going...there they will love you to sag..hahaha And the comment about AI, yeah thats who i want my kid to be like, someone who thinks he doen't have to work hard, show up to practice, and think that he brings nothing upon himself. High school kids need to realize that there are smaller kids in the stands, and they do look up to them. So have some pride about what you do, play the sport for what it is.....if you want to be thuggish then quit high school, and join streetball, then you could be a... could a, would a, should a..
  4. Developed it too fast???? Maybe thats the reason why he won so many games last year...before the season started he had 2-3 starters, or key players out for the year, and still won 22 games. How many teams can take that kind of hit and still win. Every player on that team can play, and Specer Hoffman is a big reason for that. This district has way too much talent to just sit back and wait. Gibson and Westveiw are already ahead, we just have to work harder to catch up...NOW before anyone starts, I wish THE BEST for Suiter i hope he has a great year and hope the best for the lady Rebels....Just please give Spencer his due.
  5. I never played basketball, but did go to college and played football. and i know the situation. if the kid had enough brains he would not be in class 4th period! he sounds like a slacker that wants everything handed too him. ya'll will learn this one day when you get out of high school kids.
  6. I am am grad. from L-town, and here is the only thing i have to say; if the kid misses practice( some say he does, some say he dosn't), but if he does there is no way he plays. Ex: you miss one practice (for any reason) you don't start, you miss two you don't play at all. It's just the cardnial rule of sports, it doesn't matter if he makes it up on his own time, he must be out there with the team, sharing sweat. And for Simbeck, Do ya'll think you could do better? give me a break.
  7. you don't take your starters out until the other team summits by putting in his subs.
  8. I went to college with that all-american from springfield. He's a great guy and a good friend. If there was a argument it probally started from Northwest.
