Scouting report on GC is they have some speed. Milan takes it one week at a time and will have a gameplan to stop the Pioneers. GC ran on Halls in week 0. Their opponent this week might be somewhat better than Halls.

Milan had over twice the penalty yards that Huntingdon had including a TD called back. Milan made a lot of mistakes over persuing in the first half but adjusted well at halftime to basically shut them down in the 2nd half.

I would guess Milan uses close to 25 different players to compete against a usually better conditioned Huntingdon team. Both teams have few seniors on the field. Milan's D looks good and Huntingdon's O looks good.

I expect a very physical game. Huntingdon will go hard for 4 quarters. Milan's depth will be an advantage in this one.

JCM has some nice looking players. They will get better as the season goes along. They had a tough draw with their coach not having anytime to get the Cougars ready.

Avery is no longer flying under the radar after getting MVP LB at Ole Miss this summer. Great kid.

Anyone who has "really" followed this team knew 4 years ago that 08' and 09' were going to be the years to make a legitimate run at State. The next couple of years should be fun to watch. You are talking about a very small pct. of kids. Zones have been closed going on 5 years now and the Bulldogs are still winning.

Look, I think this Milan team compares to the 99' team on paper BUT they haven't proven anything yet. I"ll know after the first couple of games if they have what it takes to have a shot at state.

Pretty good list. You could argue for a couple of more to be added in place of a couple (MUS, Humboldt 2A champ in 79', Huntingdon's winning pct.) IMO, any team that won a state championship under the old 3 class system is automatic provided those teams stayed competitive throughout the years.

I just don't know. Milan was playing Huntingdon, Trenton, and Humboldt way before Ronnie Carter was even born and now it appears to be over.

Why? Under the proposed new districts USJ has four teams to play from Jackson and another just 15 minutes south of Jackson.

The selling point with the Z plan was reduced travel but that was the T$$AA blowing smoke.

Wow, I guess that explains it. I had heard he was going to be drafted by the Mets and then it didn't happen but it turned out ok.
