Congrats East! HC travels to Heritage on Friday. Maybe they can come home with a win. Does anyone know what the current district standings are? It seems like it's a jumbled mess in the middle.

Any info about the McEwen/Cornersville game? I saw the score and was a little shocked. Admittedly, I don't know anything about Cornersville, but McEwen seemed to be on a roll before Christmas break and on top in 10A. Thanks!

HC's new coach is Sam Young; he did play college ball. Have Jo Byrns and McEwen rescheduled their game that was to have been played last Friday? Figured it was a no-go since Jo Byrns' football team was in the state championship game.

The control that is on the scorer's table malfunctioned last season. It was sent back to Coke (the school has some kind of deal with them), and as of two weeks before the season started, the control board had not be repaired. The one we are using is the one the football team uses for their clock. It can be programmed to do the basics (keep the score and time), but the football board won't interface with the basketball board to allow all other info to be input to the scoreboard. The administration is working to get something fixed or replaced so the scoreboard will be up and running at 100% during district tournaments.

HC had one starter out last night at Creekwood but from what I hear, she'll be back tonight. Not sure about the other player who took a hard foul and fall last night. HC's schedule this week has been a rough one, that's for sure. I think they have another 3 game week next week. Be safe on your trip to Erin tonight. Good luck to all!

Saw where White House Heritage lost to Community tonight. Didn't see Hannah in the box score. What's up? Does anyone have a score for the East Robertson/Clarksville Academy game that was played tonight? I can't find one anywhere.

Coach Phillips retired from teaching in TN. He had enough years in to do that. He is teaching and coaching in KY. He lives in Clarksville, so the drive isn't that different, but the pay increase is! I believe he is within 3-5 years of retirement for good, and his move was an attempt to help increase retirement benefits.

Is Hannah still at WHH? Seems like she's been there forever! Redding graduated, right? Who else do they have returning? What about the coach? Wasn't she pregnant at the end of last season?

Who do East Robertson and White House Heritage return from last year? I thought ER lost quite a few experienced players. What about McEwen? Anyone know anything about them? Heard Houston County has a new coach. Any info there?

I saw this team about a week ago playing in McEwen. I don't know who this particular player is, but no one stood head and shoulders above the rest of the girls in the game I watched.

Montgomery Central and Stewart County are not part of this district. They are both AA teams.

Who is returning to teams from this district? What impact players were lost to graduation?

Sam Young was hired as the girls' coach at Houston County. He will also be teaching PE at one of the elementary schools there.

Heard that interviews were done yesterday and that someone will probably be hired before the end of the week. That's the latest; I'll keep updating as info is available.

Current assistant coach is a special ed teacher... not sure if her teaching schedule would allow it. Heard the middle school's coach wasn't interested, but that's not confirmed. Not sure about Coach Moore... 3 of his children will be attending school in Montgomery Co. next year with two of them at Montgomery Central. His oldest son plays and started there last year, so not sure how that might conflict with him being a "dad" during basketball season. I'll keep things updated as I hear them!
