  1. Gwave, Wavelink, and all you other GreenWave fans, I can't wait to see the Tennessean article tomorrow. You know...the one that talks about how the metro schools represent region 5. Thanks Hendersonville for the ONLY region 5 win. Congrats to Region 6. Maybe when this is all over Butch Moore will win Mr. Football(lol). The "G"SSAA.........sounds better all the time!
  2. This must be an incredible game!
  3. I don't have a score yet but this is one GreenWave fan that says Go Commandos.
  4. Any news on Hendersonville - Dickson Co. or Franklin - Hunters Lane
  5. I think Vultor's got it. That is what I've been trying to say. The TSSAA botched this when they ruled him eligible. If I am right, The TSSAA gave Gallatin clearance verbally to play him but the staff waited until they had the actual clearance papers in hand before they played him.
  6. If I understand this right they had no need of a hardship because he was ruled eligible...twice.
  7. I don't have a dog in this fight and I hate that Gallatin isn't able to go to the playoffs because of crap like this. But there must be some reason that the TSSAA changed their original ruling. Something besides "less get Gallatin." There had to be something wrong with the original forms, I just want to know what it was. Again the same question. AGAIN THE SAME ANSWER: GWAVE1 I think what rkf and many others are trying to say is: Surely the TSSAA wouldn't be stupid enough to just change a ruling based on nothing. I don't think they are trying to say there IS data that was changed. I think they are just trying to give TSSAA more credit of intelligence and common sense than they deserve. If what was on the radio today is true, Ronnie Carter was stupid enough to go to the brother's school and get his information without consent. The fish rots from the head.
  8. I don't have a dog in this fight and I hate that Gallatin isn't able to go to the playoffs because of crap like this. But there must be some reason that the TSSAA changed their original ruling. Something besides "less get Gallatin." There had to be something wrong with the original forms, I just want to know what it was. RFK, the more this thing changes the more it stays the same. EVERYTHING on Gallatin's forms is (not was) correct. What changed is that the young man listed his address as Gallatin with his mother. They live with her mother as she is separated from her husband. The husband is the young man's stepfather and has NO custody. The mother is the legal guardian. The change is this. there is a half-brother in middle school that listed his address as Hermitage. His emergency contact form listed his mother and his Hermitage phone number. Again, even the Tennessean mentioned them proving they lived in Gallatin. the TSSAA decided this was duel residence. The federal judge ruled that the TSSAA did not give the player "due process" ( the opportunity to prove he lived in Gallatin ) If they do in fact live in Gallatin and the TSSAA cleared him on this basis then what difference does it make if she owns 20 houses. Supposedly the husband stayed in the house and is making payments or rent to keep from losing money on the sale of the house. Besides, wouldn't this make the half-brother ineligible based on the legal separation by-law? I don't even know if he plays sports....I'm just speculating.
  9. Does the TSSAA not know what questions to ask? How long have they been doing this? How can you trap a school like this? How in good conscience can you make such a horrific ruling? The TSSAA should have admitted their mistake and not place ALL the burden on Gallatin. (By the way CoachT....I love this site...WE'RE NOT WORTHY!!!) This site let's all of us armchair quarterbacks have an opinion.
  10. As Gallatin fans all we can do is continue to stand on the truth. EVERYTHING on our forms was truthful. Even the Tennessean mentioned Shipley proving where he lived. If he and his mother can prove they live in Gallatin then the half brother who lives in Hermitage is the one ineligible because he did not meet the by-law that mentions "legal separation". Everyone on these posts keeps saying there has to be something else but offers no evidence. What about the McGavock principal being on the board. No conflict there. The TSSAA messed up and it's time bring them down. I emailed my thoughts to Ronnie Carter also so I'm not on here just to fan the flames. The TSSAA is just plain old wrong in what they did. I have repeatedly asked what could Gallatin have done differently? Sorry guys but I'm still alittle steamed. B'ball season is right around the corner though. Well I hafta go beat my children...I told them to clean their rooms and they did exactly what I instructed.
  11. What does that mean...that judge has already ruled against the TSSAA...does he have no credibilty because of that? Maybe the TSSAA deserved to be ruled against.
  12. The police can't enter a cardboard box without a search warrent but a broken family needs an act to congress to appease the TSSAA. I guess we shcould have barged in their home and demanded information like, oh, hmm. Who would do something like that?
  13. Sorry, somehow I entered this one twice OOPs!
  14. Thanks TnBBall. I know Gallatin lost several from last year. They started to come together toward the end of the year. Don't know where you coach but good luck this year.
  15. Does anybody have any info on Gallatin this year. I went to the Green/Gold scrimmage last Thursday and was impressed with Troupe. I heard we beat Portland in a scrimmage. Brewer is awesome but the Panthers are down from last year. I'm looking for Messinger to have a big year especially if Troupe is a big inside threat. Go GreenWave.
  16. Just another GreenWave fan wishing the Reb's the best. I have thought all year you guys have the toughest region around. Hunters Lane is pretty though. their backs run lateral and just hang back, hang back, and then explode through the hole. Like GWave1 said in a previous post, tackle when you get the chance. If their run game isn't scary enough, WATCH THE LONG BALL!!!!! All of their td's against Gallatin were on big plays. Good luck again Rebels. (FHS 28 - HLHS 27 sorry FHSRebel... another close one!)
  17. Will Duncan. He is a good man and he is from Gallatin but if our boys don't have his support I think he may have served long enough. He has been a school board member FOREVER.
  18. GWave1 it seems that our unanimous vote may not have been so unanimous after all...One no vote and guess who...Mr. Duncan. The wheels have started turning to unseat him as well. Not by me mind you Everyone else voted for it. How does this sound...... the "G"SSAA!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Do the player and his mother live in Gallatin? If so, he was ruled eligible and the TSSAA is wrong. If not, Gallatin was lied to and filed false information even though they thought it was true. Until we know the answer to that question NONE OF US really know. Now, you guys said for Gallatin to take it to court if we were wronged. If the court had ruled that Gallatin's wins were restored and subsequently in the playoffs then that is just as valid as ELA's "TSSAA is just enforcing the rules", even if it was five minutes before the first kickoff. Why can't we all just get along. Next year you can go back to hating the GreenWave just because we keep winning.
  20. GWave1 or anyone else for that matter, didn't we have 4 quarterbacks score in the McGavock game? Link, McFarland, Hall, and theLittleGeneral(#10). Coulda been Glencliff. Just fond memories.
  21. Actually he did come from McGavock but they didn't do anything until the season was practically over. They accused Gallatin of running up the score on them. The TSSAA approved his eligibility twice, Gallatin sat him out two games pending approval, then again when he was ruled ineligible and subsequently Gallatin forfeited all of their wins that he played in. Gallatin IS the 5 5A champ and got shafted out of a playoff spot.
  22. Because we whipped the crud out of them and because they have someone on the board to back it up.
  23. What did the TSSAA say was wrong with the transfer? Didn't the kid have two addresses? Is that what they ruled? The reason they approved the original transfer (according to my sources) is that they didn't have all of the facts. Let me see if I can understand what happened? If John Doe moves into my school with an athletic record and reports for football requesting to play. The school has to request a transfer which is going to be approved if all of the paper work LOOKS correct. The TSSAA DOES NOT GO OUT AND INVESTIGATE ANYONE.... until another school complains! IN this case you must ask yourself, was JOHN DOE living FULL TIME in GALLATIN? OR did he share time with his step father in Nashville? After the investigation, didn't the TSSAA rule that he had dual residency between the parents? I'm not sure so someone fill me in with all of the details? Yes, this is terrible for the kids at Gallatin, but I still contend that the TSSAA has no choice but to follow the rules of the association. IF the rules must be changed, then I suggest that someone at Gallatin sit down and draw up new rules to present to the TSSAA at the Winter meeting. Good luck! ELA, Your feelings fly above your reasoning. The TSSAA has no choice, because they choose to have no choice. The rules do not have to be changed. They are fine. The problem rests in how TSSAA handled the situation. TSSAA in a sense has committed double jeopardy. In good faith, Gallatin went above and beyond to make sure that the player in question was eligible. TSSAA ruled the player eligible twice, therefore Gallatin became not guilty of any transfer offense that could have been committed by this kid. However, the TSSAA then ruled him ineligible ex post facto. The second time around, the TSSAA changed the ruling and punished Gallatin. Call it however you want, but this is clearly holding Gallatin in double jeopardy. It's different if Gallatin had never checked on the kid. If they had never made sure about the kid, Gallatin could legally be accused by another school and punished. But this was not the case. The TSSAA made two rulings and has held Gallatin in double jeopardy. Plain and Simple. Thanks Coachtfan. The TSSAA messed up and are they man enough to do the right thing? No.... not my words ELA... Coach Lassiter's. Justice delayed is justice denied. GreenWave seniors, you guys are a special group. You deserved better than this. Good post #6.
  24. FHS give us a little room to vent. Why should we care right now. Gallatin has always been a model of integrity. We don't care about the system because it let us down.
