This is exactly what I would have expected you to say. I won't sink to your level and play the childish game of name calling, but that doesn't change the fact that the calls were not going both ways in my opinion.... I just hope we get another shot at it...I am not trying to take away from this Clarksville team, they are a hard nosed football team.

I agree that one person does not make a team, but it does make A HUGE difference to know that the one person that we lost was our quarterback, punter, and one of our best defensive backs... so yeah, we got beat, but the loss of Cothran was a big factor... it's sad when teams can't lose with class... (i.e. Rossview... kept piling on) now our senior quarterback is done without a shot to play in the last few games of his career.

They are lazy and would rather be sitting at home on the couch eating ice cream and chips, watching MTV... what's happened to all the kids of today's society?... that's the real question. There is nothing deeper than that, so if you're digging for something you're not going to get it... unless some bitter fan that doesn't have a clue what he/she is talking about or a kid that quit decides to post... then, it's always going to be the coaching staff's fault. As I have said in a previous post... I'm sure that the Portland coaching staff would rather have the few players that they do who truly want to be out there giving their all, than double the numbers of lazy kids with attitude problems.

Portland has won at least one playoff game for the past thirteen years... White House cannot say the same. Being fundamentally sound has nothing to do with what type of offense you run... Portland is just as fundamentally sound as White House, I assure you... you just do what you're good at... if Portland had the size White House did then maybe they would do the same How many division one signees has Portland produced? 0... enough said I'm not even going to argue with you about who is the better coaching staff because that is just stupid... the point I am making here is that you are crazy if you think Portland has more talent come through than white house... besides that fact... portland has forty varsity players to white house's 80 or so.... i'd say that is doing much with little.

Some people never cease to amaze me on here. didymus... let me guess... you or your kid is what is known as a strawberry picker. Rules have to be made... even if that means running for missing conditioning or practice for a funeral. As a team player, if you are told the rules going in, which you are... then there shouldn't even be a complaint about it... sometimes we are stuck in unfortunate situations, but you do what you have to do to make yourself better and to be a team player. When it comes to making rules, if you make exceptions... the next thing you know somebody will be complaining that they had to run because they missed practice due to a bad hair day... seriously. aj1133... i agree with you... great post. I'm sure Coach Perry just like any good head coach would rather have 40 kids out there busting their tails and playing with all kinds of heart than 100 kids who cry about having to do "make-ups" for whatever the reason.

pressman knows what he's talking about... I was at the scrimmage as well and can clarify for all that he is right on! I look for hickman to do well this season and for portland to keep up the winning tradition... good luck to both teams!

AHHHH... I love it!!! Doesn't take much to ruffle the OWLS feathers! It's just not the same without Smith Co. in our region... oh well maybe that time will come again someday! Oh, and you're right the bulletin board material didn't hold a light to the officials from Smith County... oh i mean at Smith Co. Good luck to ya'll this season!

I don't know what you are talking about, but I have already explained that I realize that we have some stupid Portland fans just as you have stupid SC fans. I know that if that happened then it was totally uncalled for and that he should be punished... I never said I disagreed with that. And I seriously doubt that if you and I were ever to meet face to face that we would have altercations...

You're right... we've got trash in Portland... I'll be the first to admit that. You guys do as well... in fact I thought it was pretty classless to sing Na Na Na ... hey hey goodbye... I would have respected the win a lot more without that... that is my opinion... I also met some nice SC fans... anywhere you go you're gonna find both... it's pretty sorry that people have to treat one another like that... I'll apologize for whatever idiot from Portland said and did those things... that is uncalled for.

I Love HS Football... I don't call it whining... I call it standing up for someone that I have the utmost respect for and I'm pretty sure I will continue to do so no matter what you say. I know plenty of people that respect Coach Perry for the way he cares about his players... your always going to get the fair-weather fans who are with ya when your winning and not when you lose... those people aren't really fans though. By the way, I'm pretty sure I watched our coaches shake your coaches hands after both games... saw it with my own eyes... believe me I was watching.

Coach Kline played for Coach Perry... why do think he is coaching with him now... you're right he is a great man and I guarentee if you asked him what he thought he would tell you the same thing because he actually knows him. Anyway.. you Smith County folks need to move on to the LA vs. Smith thread... good luck to both teams!

I'm not going to argue with you about this... because you obviously don't know Coach Perry very well at all. I'm finished with you... in the future don't say things that you don't know the facts about. You really don't have a clue, but I don't need to prove my point to you or anyone else... I know what I feel and what I believe. I'm glad you have HEARD lots of stories... that makes your post really valid... I could tell you all kinds of things that I have "heard" about Smith County's coaches... but I have already said that I won't stoop to that level.

I'm going to say this one last thing and then try with all that I am to not read this crap anymore... but I can't let this go. You people have no idea what you are talking about. I'm not going to get on here and bash your coach like you have ours because I have more class than you, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't go both ways. You have no idea.... absolutely no idea. I can say that I personally know Coach Perry. He is the most godly man I have ever known. For example, did you know that he prays for his boys... not just about football... he is much more concerned about their eternity. He is a great coach because he is concerned about every area of his players life... I personally know. Yes... that includes thier winning... He is so intense because he knows how hard the players work and how bad they want a win... you can't blame him for that. Who are you to question his character? You can say whatever you want to about him... actually he will probably read this stuff and laugh and say "just forget about them" but I can't. You have no idea who your posts hurt... if you had any class whatsoever you wouldn't make personal attacks... if I made personal attacks like you guys did, I would fill up a whole page with my post... I could say so much but I won't. I just want to say Coach Perry.. if you do read this... I respect you more than I respect anybody in this world... you have made a difference in my life and the only reason people bash you is because they know that you are a great coach and a great man. Thank you for what you have taught me about life...this goes for the entire coaching staff! If you claim to be a portland fan on this board... let your posts reflect that.... if not... do us all a favor and stop posting on this board.
