Anybody know what time the boys' and girls' game are scheduled to be played? Should be two great games!

South Greene has cancelled the JV games due to many injuries and a shortage of players to play the games. I believe they have cancelled the rest of them.

I have been to both places and believe that Trousdale Co. is even farther out in the sticks than Hampton. Wasn't Red Boiling the team that had the record losing streak in the country back in the 1990's? I see at 91-0 they are keeping up that great football tradition. Trousdale has always had a great football tradition for many years and will prove to be a tough opponent for Hampton, but I would never underestimate any opponent especially Hampton. I expect a great ballgame on Friday night. Leonard's Loser: Trousdale County. Bulldogs win in a close contest! Townsend and Potter will have a big night!

Next week the Warriors have two major conference games against Sullivan Central and Unicoi which could play a major role in tournament seedings for the Lady Warriors. Fresh legs for those two games are important this late in the season for any team. Scheduling? The boy's coach does the scheduling as at Unaka which sometimes limits the girl's coach such was the case for Unaka not playing in the HV tipoff or so I was told. Unaka vs. HV was originally scheduled for Thurs. but changed by the boy's coach at HV to accomodate Boone's schedule and at the time seemed to work for Unaka. Believe me in saying that the Lady Warriors are just as disappointed as the Lady Rangers that they couldn't rescheduie because they definitely enjoy the cross county rivalry and competition. Best of luck to the Rangers in their quest for the Boro!

[ . Bleacherfan, you might want to get a few more facts about the Happy Valley game. The conference tournament for Happy Valley begins on Saturday the day after HV was scheduled to play Unaka on Friday night. They also play Daniel Boone on the Thursday night prior to the conference tournament. 3 games in 3 nights would be crazy when all that matters is the tournament anyway. Season records are meaningless when it comes tournament time. Anybody can win on any given night!

Last year, the Stewart County girls were very competitive come tournament time. I believe they had several players returning with a strong inside game. How are things going so far this season with the new coaching change and returning players? How do they look to finish in their conference?

The new coach's name is Mike Coley. He is a true competitor who will work hard to improve football in Stewart County if the kids will come out and give it a chance. He has worked under several good head coaches as an assistant at Gatlinburg-Pittman, Austin East, and Beech. Good luck to Stewart County!

Seriously, I think I should ask you if you were there? First half free throw attempts SG=23 to HV=2 Second half free throw attempts SG=20 to HV=7 and you think that South Greene got the shaft in the second half? Total free throws for the game: SG=43 to HV=9. I wish that Happy Valley would have gotten that kind of shaft you are talking about.

Buki, I have to agree with you about the poor and lopsided officiating in the HV game and also about the stupidity of the above quote. HV gave them all they wanted. The outcome was affected by the poor officiating.

Not taking away from South Greene, but this game was absolutely the worst officiated game that I have seen in a long while. Both teams played hard nose defense, but all the calls went to South Greene. South Greene was in the double bonus at the beginning of the second quarter and went on to shoot 23 free throws in the first half to only 2 free throws for Happy Valley in the first half. The second half was much of the same story. South Greene shot 20 free throws to 7 free throws for Happy Valley and most of those free throws for HV finally came in the final three minutes of the game. It is sad to see the officials have such an impact on the outcome of the game. The Happy Valley girls really showed a lot of courage and intensity throughout the game and were led by an awesome effort by Kourtney Goulds who had 19 pts and played a career game on offense and defense. Happy Valley outscored South Greene in the second half, but could not overcome the first half deficit and free throw discrepancies. The HV seniors; Byrd, Goulds, Whaley; will be greatly missed, but the Lady Warriors show promise next year with the return of three starters, Powell, Dugger, and Williams. Good luck to Unicoi and Elizabethton. Take the region home again to District 1.

NOTACT007, Rest assured of four things: 1. There is no drag in my closet and I am not little mikey. 2. Brutus is the expert at conspiracy theories. I have read many of them on this board over the past few months. 3. The HV girls appreciate the prediction, but they are only focused on one game at the current time and that game is Hampton. They have showed that they can compete with any team in conference when they come together and play team ball. Softball season is on hold. 4. The District 1aa tournament will be very competitive. All teams must take it one game at time or if they don't, they could end up at home after the first round. Unicoi and Elizabethton have played the most consistent basketball during this season and have to be considered the favorites to make it to Championship game, but beware of the upsets. It should be a great tournament.

I guess you will try anything since UCDADDY didn't work. Any fool knows, to be the champs, you must first beat them. (Champs-Mastermind Coach Fisher and the Unicoi Lady Devils.)

CycloneHomer has done it now. The dead horse rides again! Brutus, Beware of shovels to bury it! It would be a great game to settle on the court even though it will probably never happen. Just a suggestion, but I believe TSSAA refs could solve the problems that the teams had during the summer scrimmage. Strength of schedule can be misleading. You cannot control how good other teams are going to be in your conference. It's the luck of the draw. Girl's teams can also be affected by scheduling of their boy's teams. Carter County Top 5 rankings by Coach 17 was done like the AP poll. You lose, you drop. He was only being fair. In no way did it affect confidence in his team.

I have not read the article yet, but considering HV boys beat Unaka by about 15 in their first meeting, that prediction can be warranted. What did it have to say about the girl's teams? Please share.

Magnus, Didn't the referee ask the constable to escort the 2 Volunteer fans out for language after the technical call on Volunteer? Yes, he did. He was only do his job. The constable asked them to leave at referee's request, but they were very reluctant to leave. I hated to see this kind of thing happen to end a great ballgame between the two teams. CHHS 72, I believe your fans referred to our house as "Sad Hill". That warranted the comment I made on my earlier post. If you trash talk the home of the team you play, you better be ready to eat crow!

It takes teamwork, but they need a better bench to do that. Last I heard they were missing their center who got hurt before Christmas and also the lefthanded girl, (I think the name was Ramey) who got hurt in preseason and is out for the year. If they had both of those players, I believe they would be a lot better of a team. They have 3 good starters and not much after that. I have seen them play 4 games this year, 4 or 5 last year, and several over the summer and this is my opionion on Sull. North.
