  1. But isn't that the basis of the whole arguement? Other schools complaining?
  2. Well, now I'm a believer. Split 'em up. 5 classifications. 2 Private, 3 Public. I'm tired of hearing about it. I'm just going to laugh when some of the little publics try to schedule St. Andrews, Lighthouse and the like so they can get their one win of the season and that school says no.
  3. The following is a link to an article from the Tennessean. It includes excerpts from all three cities. Please pay careful attention to the last line of the article about the decision to move to Memphis. Article [Edited by coacht on 6/11/02 9:38P]
  4. Hey Sundquist isn't ours. He's a Democrat in Sheep's clothing and most of the support for his and Naifeh's income tax is coming from..... You guessed it, Memphis. Anyway, the only reason Memphis was chosen was because of their promising to cover 90% of the expenses. My guess is they will opt out after one year. The TSSAA didn't chose Memphis because of it's beauty or facilities, it was because Memphis is putting up money. Exactly how they got Tyson Lewis. It's kind of like those kids in high school who throws the big parties and offers to pay for stuff. No one particularly likes them, but if they're buying you can tolerate them for a little while. On the bright side though, you know you can get packages sent to you during spring fling.
  5. you just proved my point. The Titans had a losing record last year. Every game was a sell out. The Preds were out of playoff contention by Christmas but the fans were still there. Not being the best team in the league is no excuse. Look at Cleveland. They sell out everything. The Indians are already 6 games out and the Browns had a losing record last year. Good sports towns are good sports towns regardless of the way the teams are doing. Fool. P.S. I haven't noticed alot of grizzly bears in the Memphis area. Maybe you should change that name, and the facility, and the players, and the coaches... They'll be gone in five to six years. But you will still have AAA baseball and FedEx. And Tunica.
  6. As far as the unprovoked shots, I guess it just comes naturally. I saw a list of things to do in Memphis on a saturday. Look around, give up, and drive to Tunica. Memphis can't even put 15,000 people in the seats for NBA. That's sad. In the FIRST YEAR they can't put butts in seats. Yeah you have a nice AAA park. Congrats. The Titans have sold out every game for three years, and the Preds average 80% capacity. Memphis is a AAA town with an inferiority complex. But my question is: Is it a complex when you really are inferior? But you still have FedEx! Woohoo. P.S. See even YOU claim St. Louis as your hometown. No one claims Memphis. Let's sell it to Arkansas. That would fix the state budget.
  7. Good point. I'd be proud that AAA baseball is more of a draw than NFL football. Read the paper. The TL promoters contacted the Nashville sports council and Bud Adams. It was a no go. Nashville doesn't want NBA. Enjoy it for the three years it's there. Do you remember the line from Castaway where Helen Hunt tells Tom Hanks that Memphis used to have a football team but they moved to Nashville and went to the Super Bowl? I still pee in my pants laughing everytime I see that. But hey, you've got AAA baseball and FedEx. Good times. Why does Memphis have such an inferiority complex anyway?
  8. Tyson Lewis, that's something to hang your hat on. Congratulations. Nashville would have gotten it, like everything else Memphis has ever wanted, but they turned it down. The Titans wouldn't allow them to use Adelphia. I give the Griz two more years. Was there a single sell out last year? The Preds averaged more fans per game in a much smaller venue. What's that tell you? Memphis is a second rate sports town. You got Tyson-Lewis, because no one else wanted it.
  9. Don't worry, like everything else, Memphis will manage to lose this too.
  10. This guy at this school I know, he benches 543 and runs a 4.325674 forty. I watched. I have the video too. I also got him to autograph the socks he was wearing when he did it. They'll be on e-Bay. Let me also call B.S. on most every post on this thread. Especially the kid from Lewis Co. Michael Vick doesn't have those kinds of numbers.
  11. Antoine Owens - Ezell-Harding 6'3" 220 could be the top prospect in the state next year at linebacker. Also plays tailback.
