  1. Forgive Smyrna if they didn't come over and give you a hug after they handed your tails to you. Classless = students running onto another team's field and talking trash to players (regular season game) Ever notice the only team that ever uses the word "classless" are the losers? Hope you enjoyed your run, cause its over. PWNED!
  2. The funny thing about Satterfield, is that when he was beating privates (Ezell- 73-0, CPA 56-0, CA (Clinic Bowl) 46-0) he had no problems playing them. But once he had a huge number hung on him by CPA in 2000 he bolted to 3A. Now he's back in IA. I think that speaks for itself.
  3. You my friend, are full of crap. The best player to ever come out of Pickett Co. was Joseph Amonett. Mr. Basketball and he did something Crouch and Aaron couldn't do. Won a state championship. Crouch, Aaron, and the Asberrys were all a bunch of underachieving whining babies. And what buzzer beater was hit against Ezell? Before the half? You lost that game.
  4. Will someone please explain to me all this West Tn B-ball crap? This isn't 3-a and it isn't Memphis we're talking so when in the name of crap did West TN A B-ball become dominant? West TN has 1 (South Fulton in 00) state championship in the last 13 years. It has been the weak link. I'm a Mid Tn guy but the east has dominated of late with Temple (2) Unaka and Chatt Christian taking the last 4. Before that it was Middle TN with Ezell, Moore Co., Pickett, and BGA (2). All I know about West TN bball is that I've been associated with Ezell for more than 10 years and I've never seen them lose to a West TN team.
  5. Well I hope the publics are happy they get their wish and Clint (the Coward) Satterfield is moving back down to 1-A (after getting beat by LA might I add.) If the privates have such a huge advantage then explain away this. 16 1A private schools. 8 of these are in Region 5. Only 4 teams from each region could possibly make the playoffs. You've eliminated 25% of the privates before a game is even played in August. On top of that with the super region in region 5 you've got teams that are 4-6, 5-5 sitting home while you have teams from regions 2 and 3 going to the playoffs at 2-8. Yeah real disadvantage. I expect some pompous B.S. from Stan on this one. He's famous for it. We'll hear about the poor, persectued public schools and that facts are irrelevant. Anyway. Can't believe I'm back.
  6. It's going to be a long year for both squads. That was some of the worst football I've seen in a while. Both teams were slow and unathletic. I can't believe it took JP2 almost three quarters to figure out they were bigger and should just run the ball and quit trying to be cute.
  7. The fourth quarter was dominated by jp2. Short of that it was arguably the worst high school football game i've seen in my life. And I played at Ezell in the mid-90's. Ezell is small slow and not very athletic. JP2 short of one player, number escapes me (23?) is BIG slow and unathletic.
  8. Is that ALL public schools want? The system should be accepted if it's passed by a vote? Ok. Try this quote from a public school coach (from the Tennesseean.) Ravenwood is a Region 6-5A school, football Coach Greg Gregory can see why the smaller schools in the proposed classifications — the 4A and the 2A schools — would be against the change. ''5A schools traditionally make enough money that traveling is not that big of an issue,'' Gregory said. ''When you start looking at the lower-end budgets, at the 2A and 3A schools that don't draw the gate money we do, that's why this plan was brought about. But if I am a smaller school I will sacrifice the money to be competitive. … Boy I hope the publics do this and the privates skedaddle. High comedy.
  9. Who says Tennessee is inconsequential in basketball? Yesterday alone, Earnest Shelton (White Station) had 29 for Alabama, Julian Terrell(Ezell-Harding) and Mario Moore (Antioch) combined for 33 as Vandy knocked off top seed Miss State. Julian actually played like he's capable of and was a force down low, while Mario was flat out clutch in the second half. And to top it all off (much as I hate to say it) ole Lee Humprey (Maryville) hit the game winner as time expired against Alabama to send Florida into today's semi-finals against VU. Good to see these former high school stars living up to the hype in college.
  10. Ok, nashville yellow jacket fan, IN the last 20 years, there are 12 single A champions from Middle Tennessee.
  11. First of all, Good luck to both teams, you had great seasons just to get where you are.. That said, Rockwood, seriously. Cut out the poor backwoods, country folk crap. Be proud of your school, be proud of your town and quit talking about how you little people from up there just don't have a chance against the big bad private school from Nashville. Just play basketball and let the chips fall where they may.
  12. Summertown's never had any class, always been overrated, and always folds like an ironing board when playing a district 9 school. Did I miss anything. Congratulations FRA. It's frustrating as all get out when you're playing them, but you can't argue with the results. Good luck in the 'Boro.
  13. This is very true. Ironically enough, 1a has not lent itself to one team dominating. A group of teams are always up there, but you have to sort through them to get the championship. A single A private school has NEVER won back-to-back. Only one, (DCA) even has multiple state championships. How many does south pitt have? Moore Co.? Bruceton? Trousdale (before they moved).
  14. Well, I'll be happy when the 1a privates go to DII, maybe we can level the playing field and get away from the publics. (do you really see how stupid that sounds now?) Oh, yeah, I"m talking to you Laz.
  15. Ok, Big48Eagle, last post State Championships: (all sports) District 9- 49 District 10-14 (and 10 of those are Davidson's) Ezell- 16 NCS- 0 See it's so easy when you do things by the numbers. And hey, if it's the highlight of your life that the two best teams in NCS history barely beat the two worst teams in Ezell history then that's great man. If the fact that the two best teams in NCS history STILL couldn't make it to Mufreesboro doesn't bother you than that's great. Bottom line District 9 (For real) District 10 (not for real) (not to mention you make the whole darn region look bad in football.
