  1. Here's a fact: Nashville Christian lost the last time they played East Rob. too. Another fact: Nashville Christian hasn't won anything in any of its students' lifetimes. Question: Will any of you have the guts to show on here if NCS loses tomorrow? Nice story about Clarksville Academy. Ezell's been in three of the past 5 state tournaments, DCA in 2 of the last 5, Goodpasture at least 1. Who in your district has been to the state tournament recently? Really? Won anything in Baseball? Track? Girls BBall? Football? Anytime district 10 wants to compare balls (gold and silver) let me know.
  2. Well that awful 7-20 team (Ezell) has beaten FRA so it's not saying much.
  3. Well, past three years, I'd say Ezell has to be somewhere on that list.
  4. Well, if any of the teams from 10-a had ever won anything. Correct me if I'm wrong but East Rob. in what? 93? wasn't that the last time anyone from that district did anything, unless it was when Goodpasture (now 9-a) was there.
  5. I predict NCS all the way, if they can handle the Lakers in the Western conference finals, they should sweep the championship.
  6. Ward will play LB starting out. Sherlock, you're an idiot. They played that game without their starting tailback, left tackle, two wide receivers, a corner, tight end, defensive end, defensive tackle. MTSU plays SEMO healthy they win. P.s. Much of MTSU's offensive struggles last year were the result of the new offensive coordinator. That idiot, Steve Campbell, is thankfully gone. MTSU will return to the offense employed by former o.c. Larry Fedora now at Florida. It's going to be alotta five wide again, spread the field and let Drico do his thing. [Edited by RealGoEagles on 2-27-03 2:26P]
  7. Hey I'm on your side Pujo. The privates do need to go look for some real competition. They can't get it in single A.
  8. Oh I'm sorry when did district 10 start playing basketball
  9. softballer, Do you ever get tired of VolGen putting you in your place? Actually, technically I guess you didn't get out of your place from the last time he put you there so in essence he has done nothing more than KEEP you in your place. That kind of thing won't show up in the boxscore, but you know, that's what wins debate championships. (Us private folks have unfair advantages in that too.) P.S. Ezell is dominant in Quiz Bowl, but no one's whining about competing against them, I can't figure that out.
  10. Pujo, I agree wtih you on that. I'm now in favor of a split. I just didn't like the tone this thread was taking. Let's face it. It was started in a manner to make most private schools parents and supporters look like back handed bigots. That's the only reason I got irritated. I may have mistaken some parts of your posts. If I offended you I apologize.
  11. On a related topic VolGen, You seem to tick people off three fold what I do, How do you have so many good marks?
  12. who's dancing? The year Cloudland beat CPA they weren't yelling for a split. None of the publics were when they were pounding privates. Their timing just makes them look like sore losers. When I was in high school at Ezell, there were probably 10 African Americans in the high school. That kind of bothered me because I had gone to about the most diverse public middle school in Davidson County (Meigs), but that number has steadily increased. People like Pujo would have you believe it's because the private schools wanted to get better athletes so they recruit black players. That is the attitude I think it's ridiculous. For the most part are African Americans underrepresented in private schools? Probably, but the prevalent attitude is that black students are accepted at private schools unless they can run a 4.5 forty. It's been said on here. That is the attitude that's ridiculous. I've never been made aware of a student not being admitted to a private school because of their color. If that's the case then someone should report it, but if you're calling private schools racist because you think the only African AMericans are athletes then you are more backwards and narrow minded than you believe private schools to be.
  13. The score shows that pujo has no reason other than if a team can beat his (which plenty of teams in middle tennessee could, they just play cupcakes) they must be cheating. He'd never say a word if Cloudland was beating these privates, but the fact that they've had their you know what's handed to them two straight years only fuels the nonsense he spreads. Pujo is entitled to his opinion, but he's saying that black students are only at Ezell if they're athletes. That's funny, I remember a kid when I was at Ezell, one of the only African American students in the school. He was captain of the quiz bowl team and went to Sewanee on an academic scholarship. Pujo acts as if African Americans and other minorities are only accepted to private schools if they're athletes, in my mind that thinking and attitude is completely and totally reprehensible. I can't wait until we can all just be Americans and quit bickering over race. The country will be so much better off. [Edited by RealGoEagles on 2-24-03 6:28P]
  14. pujo, two games against private schools in two years against Cloudland Privates 102 Cloudland 34 And you just can't handle it. How many black students does Cloudland have? I didn't see any on the football teams. This leads me to the conclusion that Carter Co. practices segregation and you are all a bunch of racists. Worse than privates bc you won't even take black athletes.. Do you see how silly your arguments are? The above statements are the reasoning you use. [Edited by pioneer8991 on 2-24-03 5:42P]
  15. Awww waaaaahhhh, we played honest, Our girls played honest too. Celina's been in the state championship game how many times in a row? Who recruits? It's going to be fun to watch you get smoked again.
  16. Still upset about that woodshed job you got last year huh Celina?
  17. Like 7 regular season district championships in a row? Congratulations, next stop, four straight state tournaments, two straight state championships.
  18. Softballer, At last we see eye to eye. I wouldn't want you within a country mile of my kids. Remain in your place (whoever put you there) P.S. until you start throwing three or more thousand a year at public schools don't criticize those who send their kids to a private school while still doing their part in paying all that's required of them for public schools.
  19. Kind of like people with profound screen names...
  20. CSense, At first I was opposed now I'm totally and completely in favor. The school I support (Ezell) will probably struggle and will not maintain near the success they've had (except for maybe softball and girls' bball) but at least they will be competing and not complaining about how they can never match up. We will forever be done with these "big bad private school ran up the score on a public school" discussions. I am in favor of a split. I think alot of good rivalries will be lost. But that's life
  21. Willie Daunic is an idiot. Darren McFarland is worse. I like Plaster, he's not an expert and doesn't pretend to be. He moderates that's his job, that's what he's there for. Along with Fulton and Biddle they do a pretty good job. The Total Sports Experience (Daunic and McFarland) should have it's name changed to the Total Sports Root Canal. Other than Friday Night Trivia it's unbearable. I pray for Preds games.
  22. Brilliant idea, We've heard people say why they don't send their kids to private schools. How about some public supporters give us reasons why you SHOULD send your kids to public schools. I'm all about Democratic dialogue. (as long as it's not with a democrat LOL [kidding, calm down hippie liberals])
  23. And I repeat softballer, How do people who send their kids to private schools leave the problem behind? Don't they still pay taxes for a resource they aren't using. Do I and my parents not pay the same percentage of our income towards the public school system as you? Then how are we leaving it behind? Because we refuse to condemn private schools on an internet message board? What should we do? Accept a substandard education and an environment than is on the average more dangerous, more distractive, and less condusive to learning? Give me your ideas as to how we can not "leave this problem behind" that way we can be justified in our reasons for not attending public schools. I've given my reasons why I didn't attend a public school. Here's an idead, why don't some public schools supporters give some reasons why you SHOULD attend a public school. P.S. VolGen did put you in your place. [Edited by RealGoEagles on 2-20-03 10:26A]
