Coffee County just needs to do interviews and who ever has a strong voice as far as the program goes needs to be on hiring committee so they can't point fingers when things do not go well, if things do go well they can be proud of it. JMO.

Baby steps, and people have to buy in. The coach you have is good enough, Evans would do a great job. Did not know he was back, he probably want be there long just saying. You had Ken out there and you disparaged him with every chance. I like what you are doing with fishing, and should include archery. That is what you need to stick with instead of disparaging coaches who work their tail off who have so many working against them. Get with program or get the heck out. By the way, stay out of my fishing hole in Guntersville, not kid'n either,ha. Calm down man and go fishing, works for me. You are a good man and want what's best for Grundy, I, and others get that. You announce ball games, take pictures and no telling what else. Heck if you want the job go for it! I have over 100k in archery and fishing equipment, and you might can bump that to two, or three. I would like to see nothing more than the valley and mtn. doing that. But like I said as a kid, you have your whole life doing those things, my daddy told me that football is only going to come around once. Get a middle school, Sequatchie will be beating the heck out of people in a few years, just wait and see.

Tyner has trouble defensing the midline option, we put 72 points on them in two years. Their speed was working against them, because they get to ball very well, just saying. I am not sure they knew what was happening, very surprised to see them doing the same thing on D when we played them the second year. You have to love coach Turner though, he wears those knee high socks, 80's coaching shorts, and shirt tucked in and may light up a cig. on field. Very retro. Great guy. Not sure he smokes anymore. He is a joy to be around.

Was the coach there coaching at school in 2012 and if so did the coach go to bed or something and go to work the next day and not know how to coach. Crazy season is here. Sometimes you are a victim of your own success. If this is the coach that is there now in his first season, the last coach probably left and was not stupid and seen this coming and knew people like you would be beating the heck out of him anywhere they could. No sir, I have had some medical issues that had to be taken care of, and some personal issues as well, so I took some time off. In short I have had worst year of my life, however things are good now and I plan to be somewhere coaching next year if somebody will have me. Right now I am just kicking rocks to find money to eat on.

+1 Hate to admit it, but I know from experience you need to live within the community if you coach there. Too much responsibility to not do so. I kinda lost touch with Evans when he left Marion County High School. Anyway good luck to you guys, and don't overlook Grundy, they are like a box of chocolates.

So, you answered my first question saying he was not a head coach there and then said he was with two back to back 1-9 seasons. That is confusing. Also, if he had 1-9 seasons with the Seniors now it is because at that time you were probably young and inexperienced. If he was not head coach there and you folks were not running the option he was probably running someone else's stuff. One of the best coaches in the state is Ken Colquette, and I know for a fact if he has the opportunity Evens will be his first hire. Whether it is practice or a game he is coaching someone every play. That is what Ken demands or you will hear about it. I am not going to pretend to know what Grundy's problem is but it is not because of Evans. He had a program going in right direction at Marion County, and when his best athletes became Seniors the assistant principal there fired Evans and named himself head coach, because as he said in paper he could not find anyone more qualified than himself, or something like that. From what I understand Boeck is a good guy and doing a great job at Signal MTN. and may be next in line for that job, but what he did to Evans is something I would never ever do as a coach. The following year Boeck took those Seniors to the third round of the playoffs, and looked like the greatest coach in the world to only be unsuccessful the next two years and fired. Sometimes what goes around does come back around. Evans has been through a lot. He will be fine though.

Was Evans the head coach at Livingston? Second, were most of the Seniors that are playing now starting there when he was there. I know Evans pretty good and he is a good Coach, a very good coach. So, Jonny Ray, what or who are you to come on and disparage Evans. Enlighten me on all your great knowledge of coaching football, heck I would like to hear it, maybe it will make me better.

How has Grundy's middle school done the last couple of years?

Kids played hard but, play side guard took Sp to ball all night, If you are not getting blocked on line of scrimmage you are going to get trapped or the ball is going away, either way you do not need to get up field. Like I said kids played hard good luck to both teams. I can see SP playing for state this year. In my opinion Marion needs about three more plays to counter what the defense does. Marion's kids look good, they fill their uniforms out well, and have heart. Coach there has made a difference.

Both teams look good, South Pitt has some kids that have spent some time in weight room as well. Does Marion have a lot of Seniors on the team?

The Warriors fill out there pants well. Must be using the squat racks. Wings need to carry out their fakes instead of watching game but impressed with what I have seen so far. They look good. SP needs to get in weight room. Both teams are playing hard, glad it is on TV.
