How can you say that when Hillsboro only got called for 1 five yard penalty the whole game. That is unheard of at any level, let alone high shcool. Sounds a little bit like sour grapes.

You say Lewis was not much of a factor.....I disagree, the burros focused so much on him that they forgot about Rucker and the recievers. Teams now know if they shut down one part of the offense, the other will eat them alive.

I agree completely, your team never quit and started the game wanting it alot more than our team did. It was a great atmosphere, one we don't get to see too often here in metro. Good luck to your team and the rest of the season. You keep playing with that kind of effort you are going to surprise alot of teams. Best of luck. Help us out and beat Overton for us!

My thought is...why don't you give the score? It was 41-6 Hillwood by the way. And this was with Hillwood playing all subs for the whole 2nd half.

Yes not having Link out there makes a difference, but Moore has always called the offensive plays and Lewis has called the defensive plays, regardless if link is there or not. I say Hillwood will get it going this week and win a close one. The game last Fri was the worst I've seen Dee play in 2 years. Hopefully he got that out of his system and we'll see the old Dee this Fri.

I agree this could be the year for Hillsboro to fall. Hillwood has the weapons, especailly on offense to make it happen. Not only in the running game, the passing game should be wide open also with a very talented bunch of recievers back. Also the entire offensive line returns. On defense, the biggest question will be the linebackers.....Do they have the athletes that are able to control a game from there? Hopefully the coaches are able to use all of the athletes on this team (and there are a ton of very good ones) the right way, and if so, this team should make some noise in the post season. I can promise you this....it will all come down to the ability of the coaching staff on how far they go.

Hillsboro vs Hillwood. If the Toppers are to upset Hillsboro, this is the year to do it. Hillsboro has lost the core of it's team while Hillwood returns almost all of its team and starters.

I was at the Glencliff-Stradford game during the Father Ryan Tourney and saw Jamont of Glencliff make a great dunk at the right time to give Glencliff some momentum. The crowd went nuts, rightfully so. Then in the second half he makes a stupid pass under his legs (totally unneccessary) that results in a turnover, but guess what, the crowd goes nuts again, like he had done something great!? Why are they going nuts over a stupid play that results in a turnover and 2 points for the other team in a close game? This is where the ignorance of the fans comes in that I believe Topperman was referring to. All the fans want to see is flash and that leads to, too much of an "I" attitude and no "team" attitude and that is what frustrates the true bball fans that are left out there.

Okay, thin skinned people that take things a little too seriously, it was a JOKE! Get it, a joke. I know JanetI, the lady that I 1st responded too about women and wrestling. Maybe the 2 clues would have been how I spelled "rasslin" and the smiley face at the end of my post. Life is too short to take things so seriously.

CoachF & Alzado....I think you misunderstand my posts. I have not been "bashing" Coach Gamble as a person nor do I wish for him to give up on Hillwood. Hillwood has been labled as losers for so many years I am ready to try anything new. Davis was obviously not the man for the job nor did I have any respect for him. I sincerely want Coach Gamble to turn this program around, I just do not agree with his tactics so far; they obviously are not getting through to the kids. And by the way Alzado, they are still kids; I'm glad my son still feels comfortable talking to me. If more parents spent time talking with their kids about their lives maybe our schools would be a lot different. So if that makes him a mama's boy then so be it.

Coach Gamble, As a parent of one of your players, it is disheartening to hear you say your players are very much untalented. After playing for Davis the last few years I agree they are undisciplined. I do think it is unfair to say "very much untalented" at this point. I know my son is trying very hard to learn your offense as I'm sure the rest of the kids are. I think you'll see, once you get it installed these kids (sophmores and juniors anyway) will give you all they have and you will see some signs of talent. Although you feel there is no talent there, I still wish you the best of luck, and based on what my son has said, I feel you can turn things around at Hillwood.

Hillwood looses only one starter on offense in Chester Moreland (wide receiver) and only 3 or 4 starters on defense. All of their key positions will return ( Dee Rucker, Antonio Lewis, Jared Clodfelter, Devon Palmer and more) also ALL of the starting linemen on both offense and defense return! There are more juniors and sophmores that didn't get to see much playing time that have the talent to step up next year for some incredible depth. Next year Hillwood will be much much better than this year.
