Hog Eye

A coach will make more mistakes in his or her first year of coaching than any other time. I also think it is great that Clarkrange has a softball team. That means that the surrounding area teams can get another game or two without having to travel as far as they would have before, and hopefully in a year or two Clarkrange will not only be able to compete with area teams but win as well.

I am a loyal follower of the Lady Cats...and let's leave it at that. BTW, Ashley Howard's hand is just fine.

LA won the first game 5-4. White County won the second game 9-8. LA's defense was ok and Howard pitched fairly well. She was hit in the hand during the early innings of the second game and is going to have an x-ray today to see if anything is broken. Let's hope she is ok.

Amen, bigdave. Imagine if GC had won yesterday. How many posters on this board would be trashing LA and 7AA?

Every team in 7AA has a JV team now and they all should play at least 12 JV games right there. I have seen posts on this board about a JV softball tournament that is held somewhere in Middle Tennessee. The more games the younger giirls on your team can play, the better they will be when the step on the field for a varsity game. In baseball, the JV games are normally played before the varsity games. Why is it different in softball?

We will find out how RBS, Livingston Academy, and Westmoreland are going to be this Saturday at Red Boiling Springs. The schedule is as follows: 11:00 LA vs Westmoreland 12:30 RBS vs Westmoreland 2:00 LA vs RBS The weatherman is calling for a sunny but cool day so it should be a great way to kick off the season.

Actually the main chant you will hear from our side will be... H-O-G-E-Y-E, HOGEYE, HOGEYE, TNT We do have a few other cheers, but that is the main one.

Tiffany Krantz played college ball at Auburn and did quite well. She either just has or is going to graduate from veterinary school at Auburn and will be working as a vet in Overton county very soon. As for Sunday Watson, I am not real sure about her. She played for Indiana for a year or so but after that I do not know.

I heard that the reserved seats were not in effect for tonights game. so get there early if you want a nice, cushy seat. But, for any Walker Valley fans, please don't sit in the seats that say Coach and Mrs Vaughn. At least show a little respect.

"We'll beat Hog Eye, wait and see" The only team that I have heard use that cheer recently is York. I guess it is reserved for our actual rival these days.

Congratulations to Katrina. She is an outstanding player and one of the best ever to play at "Hog Eye".

I might like to schedule a game if you are willing to come to Livingston. Due to the fact that I do not have lights (the poles for lights are laying by the field, the electric company has not put them up yet) my first few weeks of games are all away because I want to play varsity and junior varsity games and cannot get them both in at home before it gets dark. 3-19 is during our spring break so we could play as early as you can get here. I believe that the MTSCA will eventually, in the next couple of years, expand to include all of Tennessee. Although there is nothing wrong with starting up an East Tennessee Coaches Association, if one does begin I would hope that the two could someday merge into one.

I was at the LA home game against Jackson County and I can guarantee over 90% of JC fans, young and old, were singing "Hog Eye just got beat". If that is not taunting then nothing is. But I think it is great that other schools have to do something special when they beat LA, because that means it is a very special thing to do. HOG EYE HOG EYE TNT
