  1. No doubt about it. JaJuan Smith #5 of McMinn County!
  2. Well, I'll tell ya why I feel McMinn is deeper. I'm talking about guys who can come in the game from the bench and give valuable minutes. I'm not talking about scoring, but guys who can come in give the starters a breather and not make costly errors. Your 2nd Question: I think you got carried away on this one. It's not fair to say McMinn has only 1 truly capable player. Maurice is better talent wise than anyone on Central's team (Except 4 Beau). There's Ryan Webb and Nathan Whittle, who may no be the best athletes or the most talented, but they can hit a three when needed and are reliable as far as handling the ball goes(both seniors) . There is Blake Cobb who has some size, but doesn't use it to his advantage (But still gives a physical presence). There is a very capable guard off the bench in Jamichael Parks (He proved his capabilities against Cleveland w/5 pts. and 3 steals in 2 min. off the bench in the 4th quarter). There is Adam Baldwin who adds some height and has a good jumper. There is Jared Price, who when under control can be good. Also I'm being told that Frosh Justin Hicks is going to see some playin time tonight. He is good just needs some experience. Third Question: It's simple; McMinn has 6 seniors to Central's 1. All 6 have seen lots of minutes so far this year, and 4 of the 6 have seen valuable playing time before this year. Next Question: Also simple, McMinn is in a tougher district and region. Everyone can agree on that. We've played Cleveland, Oak Ridge, Tyner, some tough Georgia teams, and a very talented Clinton team. You've played Sweetwater, Tellico, and took a loss to Walker Valley. Gimme a break. Last Question: I'm not basing the fact that nobody on the Chargers can guard JaJuan on Tuesdays game. I'm basing it on what I've seen from Central this year and in the past. Don't kid yourself.
  3. 91statechamp, I hope the whole city of OR isn't as obnoxious as you are. Since when did Oak Ridge become such a tourist trap. You only live an hour away from McMinn County, so you must be used to seein the hee-haw thing around your neck of the woods. To the most arrogant fan around (91statechamp) I hope Jeff. Co. runs all over your guys. Go Cherokees! Go Patriots!
  4. Skunk, If I wanted some kind've social studies lesson on Native Americans I would've asked. Why don't you just stick to football on the message boards. Getting back to football I understand your point about the rivalries. I don't really care who we play next if we win this Friday. McMinn is on a mission and whoever is in the way will just have to be dealt with. Thanks for your help on the Kingsport area attractions. I may have some questions for you closer to Friday.
  5. 91statechamp, I'm starting to definetly believe that these DB fans have more class than you do. The more you say the more I wanna pull for Jeff. Co.
  6. Bad news about the spread of the flu-like illness in Mcminn Co. A few more players left school early today. 7 starters are out sick right now. Hopefully everyone will keep them in their prayers. Keep hoping for the best.
  7. 91statechamp, your saying McMinn Co. isn't on your level. I hope you don't think we're the same football team you played earlier on this season. If you do you are sorely mistaken. Those nuclear waves must be going to your brain. Ya'll just worry about taking care of business against Jeff. Co. and we'll handle ours against DB. We would love to get the chance to take on the Wildcats again to see who the real Region 2 5A champs are. The Cherokees are the hungriest team around right now (on the field and off) and would love to get a chance to eat at Big Ed's on the 21st. Go Cherokees! Go Patriots!
  8. My fault on the bad info. on Holland. I was told he had actually previously been in Florida. You know know how bad info can go (sorry). I'm not trying to talk smack, but you have to see where I'm coming from. I know Friday is our chance to prove ourselves, but you DB fans have got to admit if I were posting some of the messages that you all are you would be a little upset. That's just passion for the game. So, with all that being said good luck Friday night. P.S. By the way, there is some kind've illness going around here in McMinn co. There has been an excessive amount of students absent from school, including some key football players. I just ask that you keep these students in your prayers.
  9. The roster of McMinn Co. has finally been posted. The LB you're talking about is Fr. Nigel Holland #49, and he is very good for a Frosh. He is strong and quick. He is one of our California transfers. The big LB you're referring 2 is Maurice Vestal #11 and also Aaron Ferguson #44. They both used to be backs when Coach Mullinx was here, but I'm not sure of their fourty times. They are pretty fast, although Vestal has put on A LOT of weight over the past 2 years. Both guys are the kind that will do a lot of talkin, and usually back it up. They will try to get in your players heads. Maurice Vestal is the adopted brother of QB Derrick Vestal. Yes Maurice is black and Derrick is white, just so it doesn't confuse you. It is really a great story. Our leader on defense is Snoop Smith, who is our main D-1 prospect. He is the best tackling safety I have seen in a long while. He is a man. Our lines are both vastly improved. Watch out for Dustin Millsaps on both sides of the ball, especially at reciever. He has great hands and makes big plays. Our kicker is inconsistent but can be good at times. Anything else just ask.
  10. All of this disrespect for the Cherokees is ridiculous! Friday night we will see. Anyways, I just got word that the student pep bus slots filled up in it's first day. That is 2 busses, and there may be another one on the way. It depends on if the school system will allow it. For non-students there are a couple of charter busses in the works as well. Those are still not definite. I've lived in McMinn County for going on nine years and I have never seen these fans as hyped up for Cherokee football as they are now! The only time I can remember the enthusiasm being this high was Black Friday 98 @ Bradley Central. I hope you guys are as excited about this 1 as we are. I wish it was Friday!
  11. Well, I have officially decided to lend my support to Jeff. Co. simply because I want the Cherokees to have another home game after we take down DB on Friday. Nothing personal, so Good Luck 2 both teams!
  12. McMinn County is gonna shock DB on the road!
  13. I'm wondering about the o-line of DB. I was able to see some film on them today from the SD game, and they looked kind've weak. I don't know if it was a one game thing or what, but I wasn't impressed. The rest of the team looked fine, but someone fill me in on the line.
  14. I agree. This is the best team chemistry I have seen @ McMinn since Robbie Brooks and those guys senior year. They played with a ton of heart.
