Does anyone know if they gave out MVP and all tournament awards? Just curious, hadn't heard anybody mention this.

Since the Supt of Schools was in on the meeting, there had to be a legimate reason for her to be ask to step down. No rumors or assumptions should be circulating since this can only hurt Coach Campbell as well as the young ladies on the team. Best of Luck to the Lady Bulldogs and Coach Campbell.

It's in the JC Press - Hampton's Girls Head Coach Campbell resigned and Doug Phillips will probably take over.

This is the team that Unaka will play - they have a calendar and they show that the boys and girls teams are playing in the Chattanooga Classic. They just do not have anything on their school website about the team.

I believe that Elizabethton takes this one. Just guessing by +10.

Christian Heritage of Dalton, GA - the article was in a Dalton GA paper. I didn't find anything about their basketball team on their website. Maybe this is not the same team.

Heritage just won a tournament in KY and has a kid named McClellan (may not be spelled exactly right) that scored 25 points at least the last two nights (games) to help his team win this tournament. The last game it seemed they had 5 players in double digits and won 80-72. They don't sound like they will be a slouch.

Games start at 4:00 on Friday with a girls game and then at 5:30 McCallie vs Twin Spring, VA, then a girls game at 7:00 and then Unaka vs Temple at 8:30. On Saturday games begin at 2:00, starting with the girls and then at 3:30 Temple vs Twin Spring, VA and a girls game at 5:00 and then Unaka vs McCallie at 6:30. Can't remember the exact matchups for the girls, will check and post them.

There are pros and cons to everything. The pros would be to be able to see other teams schedules and scores and to see how they are progressing and find out- sometimes- information that could help a team strategize. Cons would be the negativity which is very bad at times. It gives anyone that wants the ability to trash and bash other teams or individuals without the fear of being identified. Just an opinion. I'm sure there are many others.

Still think Elizabethton will take this one in a close game. Elizabethton seems to have more weapons inside and out. Best of Luck Betsy.

Would you like it if somebody got on here and all they did was talk about how bad the teams were that won state for your school? No body said Pickett was mediocre. Your school didn't make it last year for whatever reason, this is a new year and a season that just started. Time will tell for everybody and best of luck down the road.

Thanks Devil, I think We have a good bunch as well. A rough start to the season but that happens sometimes. Gee Pandora are you trying to get someone to open up that box??? It's very early in the season to count anybody out and I don't think anybody is going to be too slouchy this year. Yes, Cosby sounds as if they will be a very tough and talented team this year and will probably give everyone they play a hard time. That's just good competition and a test to get you ready for down the road. Unaka just needs to find their groove and work together as a team, which I think will occur as they play more and more together. Yes, It is hard to repeat so let's just have a great season and then see what happens during the tournaments.

What happened to Birchfield? Hasn't he been the girls coach for the past few years?

University High has a new coach - which usually means a new look - has anybody seen them play or know how good they will be. Heard something about a new transfer. Who and from where?

Hope the injury is not too serious, she will be greatly missed by the lady warriors.
