  1. UTK and Pearl WERE going to honor Dotson's scholly. They didn't yank it. Pearl told Dotson that he would find it extremely difficult to find any playing time in his four years and that if he still wanted to come that they would honor his scholly. Then Dotson CHOSE to ask for a release because when he thought about it he decided he would rather go to a mid-major college and get to play as opposed to going to UTK and sitting the bench his entire career. It would have been a much more class-less act if Pearl would have allowed him to come to UTK and disillusioned him into thinking he was going to get playing time. Dotson is at Belmont and is a contributor at that level. It worked out for the best for him.
  2. I didn't rank them in order. I just pointed out the group that composed the top teams in the region. I've never said Forrest is the best team in that region. They might be, but they have been beat by Eagleville. And, almost got beat by Van Buren and MTCS. Culleoka is the best team in your region right? I mean they have only been beat by Columbia Academy TWICE, and Columbia Academy has lost/barely beat monsters like Huntland, Richland, and Moore Co.
  3. That is the most ignorant misinformed post I have seen on coacht is quite a long time. And, that is saying quite a lot because coacht is home of the ridiculous post. Doesn't care about nothing else? You might want to talk for the players that played for him in the past and the ones that play for him right now. I guarantee you he cares about his players. That is actually one thing that sets him apart. Do you know his team rules on academics and discipline? That is caring for them. That is preparing them for life. When Lofton was late for a study group meeting this summer Pearl made him stay over the weekend and run sprints. Pearl had a recruiting trip planned for that weekend. He could have easily allowed one of his assistant coaches to show up at the crack of dawn on Saturday and oversee Lofton's sprints. But, he skipped his recruiting trip and showed up early to oversee Lofton's sprints. You know nothing of what Pearl's class is or what he cares about, so quit making posts that show your ignorance on the situtation.
  4. Top teams are Forrest, Eagleville, White-House Heritage, East Rob, and East Lit. But, its looks like Van Buren, Cascade, and Nashville Christian all have talented enough teams to do some damage come tournament time. Should be great matchups come Region Tournament. P.S. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I don't see Culleoka getting into the Region championship game. Wayne Co./Summertown looks to be that matchup. Therefore the Sub-State game between these two regions will most likely not include Culleoka. I know that is what you liked to hear starting this thread culleokarep. ha.
  5. My most recent impression is Lake Co. #1 team in the state. 17 wins in a row. Just beat a very good Humboldt team by 20. Only loss in the state is an early loss to a very good Union City team. Others losses are all at a very difficult out of state tourney.
  6. Weddle is a great player. And, at this point it seems like he is a lock for A Mr. Basketball. But, you people saying he is one of the top 5 players in the state (or the one guy that said he was THE best) are laughable. Right after posts talking about him being top 5 in the state there is a post saying he is a good fit at Bethel, but wouldn't start as a freshman. How can one of the top 5 players in the state be someone going to Bethel and not even be good enough to start there as a freshman? Its ridiculous. There are 10 other players in the state right now that are HANDS DOWN better than Weddle.
  7. I find it interesting that your talent evaluation is superior to that of Top 25 Division 1 college basketball coaches. How many High Division 1 offers does Weddle have? Just because a player does not score does not mean a player who can score is better than him (in the case of Varnado only avg. 12 pts.). I suppose with that philosophy Weddle is better than Ben Wallace? Thats the style of player Varnado is and he was coveted by many top D1 programs. And, how can you use the argument about other players on that list "not being complete" players. Thats ascinine, laughable that you would consider Weddle to be a complete player. He is shooter/scorer. And he takes a lot of shots to get those ponits. He is not a polished rebounder, passer, or defender.
  8. You must not understand how the nomination process works. I didn't say Skogen deserved it this year. I don't know if he does or not. Haven't seen him play or seen him numbers this year. I know what team he plays for and I know what his last name is, and that is what will play itself out in the nomination process.
  9. Weddle is a great player, but is not even close to being Top 5 in the state. Young, Wright, Chism, Kemp, Varnado, Williams, Watkins, Powell, Fields, Oden, Stewart, Miller, Wattad are all better than Weddle. And, there are probably a few more that I can't think of off the top of my head.
  10. Dude, Jeremy Williams is a D-1 player on the undefeated, nationally ranked, best team in Tennessee. I would say that they AAA Mr. Basketball award is already claimed. Oden should be a finalist though, because he carried Siegel when Ramsey was out. That leaves Allen trying to beat out Miller, and I'm not sure he'll be able to. But, he would definately be very deserving if he is a finalist.
  11. These are my picks for the final 3 candidates (pred winner *) AAA - *Jeremy Williams, Maurice Miller, Jimmy Oden AA - *Thaddeus Young, Willie Kemp, Beau Brown (Chism/Varnado both get shaft) A - *Marq Murden, Marquis Weddle, Seth Skogen D II- Brendan Wright (only one that matters)
  12. I hope that is your prediction for the outcome of the district tourney. Because mathmatically Van Buren cannot get 2nd place in the district (regular season). Third is the best they can do.
  13. Still no respect for Eagleville. Hilarious. 20-2. Only team in the district to beat Forrest. Tied for best record in the district. Prediction: MTCS upsets either Cascade or Van Buren...whichever one finishes in 4th.
  14. Is that the tie-breaker? crakerjack10 picks in the event of a tie? I was just asking because I was a little bit confused as to what that comment meant. You pick them for what?
  15. " Forrest will finish in first, Eagleville second and Cascade or Van Buren, the reason for not declaring which one will be third or fourth is that right now both have identical district records" Hmmm...is that right? Well, I'm not sure where you get that idea. Could you give me some lottery numbers to pick for tonights jackpot...Nostradamus?
  16. Eagleville's game is not "dependant" on the three-pointer. Eagleville hit 0 three-pointers tonight. They only shot 3 (plus one half court shot at the buzzer if you want to count that).
  17. I don't mean to bust your bubble (or in other words your ridiculous cockiness) but Van Buren's defense was not a "scheme" geared towards the best player in the universe, Corey Shankle. That is Van Buren's standard defense. They play a very packed in man-to-man against every team they play. Its because they are tall and usually not as quick as the other team. So, if it makes your chest puff out because you think they spent hours devising a plan to stop the best post to ever walk to face of the earth then go ahead and think that. But, the fact is that it is the same defense they play every game.
  18. Goodness...if I hear one more time how Middle and East Tennessee teams "couldn't even finsih in the top 3 of our West Tennessee districts" I might pull my hair out. 1A basketball in West Tennessee is very good, no doubt, but its ridiculous to make those accusations. Fans at Humboldt, Middle College, Union City, etc. have not seen enough of the 1A teams in Middle and East Tennessee to say they wouldn't even be able to "compete" in a district. The bias is ridiculous. At least admit you are biased and don't try to shovel your bias off like its fact. It makes you look stupid.
  19. Van Buren in a very close game. Van Buren is one of the hardest places to play on the road.
  20. Moore Co. is playing very well right now. Culleoka is not playing well right now. Moore Co. is a very tough place to play (that drive on a bus is not good and they play very well at home). Due to these circumstances I say Culleoka will lose a very close game.
  21. I am planning on attending. What do you need from me for the tickets?
  22. Antioch is overrated. I would be very surprised if they are even able to keep this game close.
  23. "culleokas not overrated at all their a good team that had two bad games" I like how you can say that about Culleoka, but yet you use one game to point out that some other team doesn't deserve to be in the 'Top 10' thats ridiculous. If the last two games are not an indication that Culleoka is overrated, then why do you use 'one game' as a legitimate reason that some other teams don't deserve any credit.
  24. Culleokarep, a 1 point win against Huntland? Hmmm...
  25. I try to stay away from arbitrary 'Top 10' lists because I haven't seen near enough teams play.
