Why has somebody not suggested playing the inter-county games on separate nights so more fans can enjoy these crosstow rivalries? Maybe one on thursday and one on friday? You could double the number f people coming to each game. Any thoughts ?

Let's get serious,now folks. What coach would not leave Sequoia to go to alcoa? More prestige, better opportunity to advance your career. And, if you have aspirations of coaching at the next level and having your masters degree paid for why would you not take that opportunity, as well? Who of you out there would not take advantage of an opportunity to advance your career field when it is presented? Don't judge a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes. I can think of numerous coaches that are hired to do the same thing that Coach Meadows does, (turn around floundering prorams). Nobody trashes them for moving from school to school. Why this coach?

dmoyers, c'mon, you're just trying to agitate. Heritage is a much better team this year ,better than WB even. HHS is a couple of plays from being 2-0. As to the transfer situation. I don't think anybody really believes that kids that transfer to MHS really make the Rebels that much better. The thing is that those kids could make a difference for one of the county schools.

you'll probably see several changes in WB's defense this friday. Meadows want allow that to happen again.

When you consider that HHS has a new coach, a new offense, and new defense that they are still learning, there first game was pretty good. Only Maryville could play with 6 turnovers (at Alcoa last year) and still win the game. Only losing by 7 to a pretty good team in West, Heritage will beat Farragut by 10.

Has anyone seen the newest AP poll? Is it true that Heritage was not listed in the top 10?

Switchplay - Two things: 1 Cait is a TEAM PLAYER. Actually, earlier in the season, coaches had a really hard time getting her to step up her play and stop passing the ball around too often. She wants to see the others around her excel as well. She is one of the most positive players on the team and they look to her for leadership. She has been at the middle schools shooting with younger athletes and encouraging them. So, if her skills are so far above the average player in the state, then so be it. If you have a goto player on your team, you want her to have the ball at crunch time, and Cait does that. 2 As far as her going to her left, you apparently missed some of the game Monday night.

Two different occasions in the game additional seconds ran off the clock when it should have been stopped. And, Heritage got an extremely bad call that should have been a charge on Maryville, but was called a block. That gave Maryville free throws to put the game on ice and also fouled out McInnis. This is not an excuse, mind you, but that is what had Coach Howard very upset at the end of the game. Heritage, again, did not have anybody to step up in this game. And, a group of good players will beat one awesome player every time.

What kind of per game average did she have?

Here's something to think about, Cait McMahan is only a sophomore.

Purple People \ Coach Rick Howard, after the game did just as he does after every other game. He went to shake hands with the other coach. He was going down the line shaking hands with the players also, and turned around to find his team across the court. He came across court livid and told all of them to get in the locker room. So, to say that Coach Howard also gave Heritage a "black eye" is incorrect. Coach Howard is the epitome of class, and so are his teams. I have never seen those girls be anything other than class acts themselves in all situations. I am not condoning what happened by any means. But, I remember being 15, 16, 17 years old and doing stupid stuff as well. Not because I did not know better, or because a coach told me how to act, but because I was a KID and didn't think. In the heat of the moment with that much excitement there is no telling how you would act. I do regret that such a huge win was overshadowed by such a display. But, how many times during football season did any of us see the visiting team jumping on the 50 yard line before the game. It is wrong, but I have never seen anybody use nearly an entire thread about it.

It was a great game to watch. The difference this game was Heritage brought some tough post play that they have not had consistently all year. Gowan and Ogle played their best game of the season. Can't wait to see these girls play Powell.
