  1. He never has cared. I had to wrestle him last year and was lucky enough to split 1-1 with him. I can tell you this for sure though, he NEVER slows down. It's extremely frustrating.
  2. I wrestle(d) for Houston and I know we have the reputation of having fans with class. We do respect Luke's opponents. And also, being close friends with Lucas, I can tell you he also respects his opponents. Sure, he is upset he lost, but he takes nothing away from Turner.
  3. Stroke - it was the refs, without a doubt. sure the coaches could've maybe forced it a little more but they wouldn't have had to if the refs hadn't messed up in the first place. not attacking referees just stating that these particular refs messed up this time. and the dad was also only responding to the wrong call...
  4. I agree. This is not an opinion question. No one is denying that Sanders is the state champion, but the rules clearly state that on the third caution a point is rewarded which would have given Bond the match. There is nothing to do now, except talk about it.
  5. Holliman jumped from going one and out in last year's state tournament to making finals this year. He still has two years left and could win both years. Also, Nic Bundy dominated what I thought to be the toughest weight class in the state tournament. He won this year and has two left also.
  6. Coleman and Ortiz is real tough to predict. I'm guessing it will most likely be a candidate for best match. As far as Ibrahim over Cordell, it could also be one to watch for best match. Holliman over West, it's only a prediction, but I don't think West will lose to anyone. I know Holliman barely beat Seaman, but he could barely beat him again. Ensminger was included because I don't think McKnight can hold under the pressure, he got majored in the region semifinals. Barnett has the ability to beat anyone on a good day. I'm almost positive he beat Konz from Franklin. Jenkins was thrown out there because of the way the brackets fell...
  7. Everyone has predictions. I doubt I know enough to predict the top 6 in each weight, so I'm sticking with the two finalists and champion in each weight: 103- Puckett (Gibbs) over Rudas (East Ridge) 112- Ortiz (Franklin) over Coleman (Cleveland) 119- Cordell (Bradley Central) over Ibrahim (Overton) 125- James (Soddy Daisy) over McGrew (Daniel Boone) 130- West (Bradley Central) over Holliman (Brentwood) 135- Lane (Soddy Daisy) over Ensminger (Bradley Central) 140- Dix (Farragut) over Barnett (Germantown) 145- Davis (Franklin) over Sanders (Mont. Cent.) 152- Borneman (Houston) over Cody (Science Hill) 160- Gibson (Bradley Central) over Jenkins (MLK) 171- Blackmon (Bradley Central) over Knox (Farragut) 189- Campbell (Soddy Daisy) over Cooper (Bradley Central) 215- Bailey (Bradley Central) over Rouse (Rossview) 275- Schnell (Science Hill) over Johnson (Seymour) I don't see too many upsets happening. And 0 returning medalists in 215 and 275. Wow, most of the better wrestlers in each weight are on the same side of the bracket. How does every else think it will turn out?
  8. BOTW...it's highly doubtful that Coach will let me go with you guys. However, I do want to go sometime in the kinda sorta near not too distant future. Give me whatever details you can get and I will try to go up the same time as you all next time.
  9. Maybe if I had been informed...And I bet Flemming for G-Town gets 4 seed. Oh yeah, and rumor has it that Williams is going 140. Besides, he lost to Germantown and Ridgeway, so you never know even if he shows up at 135.
  10. Wow! This is two years in a row I've had a weight class that is next to impossible to seed. Why do I cut weight again? Oh yeah, 140 is just as hard if not harder. Face it, west Tennessee is getting better overall. If I am lucky enough to make it to state, I can't wait to see how we do. But how does everyone think 135 and 140 will be seeded? (1-5 or 6)
  11. I can't believe you called me junior...but aside from the insult, I can't go. I do want to though. Good luck at the duals and give me the info on the coaching deal when you get it.
  12. If Borneman was dodging Sharp, he would have wrestled at 160. BUT...seeing as how the coaches waited to see who Coach Bradley and Coach Simpson would send out, I think it shows Houston wanted Sharp and Borneman. Coach Holmes and Coach Delgado could have sent out the other 160 but held Luke back to wrestle Ben. And it's way beyond ridiculous to say anything about the ref not calling a pin. His shoulders were on top of Ben. Ben Sharp is a great wrestler and a great kid and even he would tell you it wasn't close to a pin.
  13. Borneman weighed in at 160 to wrestle Sharp. He bumped up to 171. Not to take anything away from Ben but why would the #1 ranked wrestler in the state run from someone? Oh yeah, and don't worry about my mom...it was my idea.
  14. also, at 119. yeah, gibbs was beating groves at first, but in the seeding meeting, you can't use "winning before getting pinned" as criteria. and the seeds at that weight could be important. besides, groves beat torres of white station pretty handily and I think that WS kid beat gibbs that same night. and whatever happened to shawn quint of bartlett? is he off the team or just not predicted to qualify for state?
  15. are those the predicted places? and also, not just because he's my teammate, but ryan schmidt, a freshman from houston, beat harrison from ridgeway at the dual. ryan hasn't done much but has enough talent to sneak in the top four at 112.
  16. b.o.t.w. does his homework. I have heard of him taking notes during duals just to post info for us on this site. great job and keep it up b.o.t.w. hope to see you tomorrow night, and your lil bro too.
  17. Landon Hall is good no doubt. He may be the best freshman 145 in the state, but just because he is doing well as a freshman doesn't make him the best. I think Bond Davis is by far the best...overall...
  18. chill out. no one said "I could kill max gessler". get a life
  19. I just found out about an hour or so ago that Dominic Williams will not be competing for the remainder of the season. He had some sort of surgery on something and is out from now on. How does this play out the 135 weight in the region? Before, hadn't they all beaten each other? (Fryman, Rogers, Hannah, Williams)
  20. Wow were the guys he beat just really good?
  21. I agree. Good job to all Region 8 wrestlers who competed this weekend. I think it's the best showing from us at this tournament in a long time.
  22. Was it Nick or Mike Marable who won OW of the tournament? I see that Nick won all of his matches, but a lot of them were close....
  23. The guy who beat Blackmon was a 2 or 3 time state champion. It was only by a point or two I think, but he was pretty good.
  24. That's twice Fryman has blown a lead on Williams...
  25. B.O.T.W.---you're exactly right. Wrestling is a gentleman's sport. Also, I don't know if any of those four wrestlers you named that are also at 135 would be intimidated at all. In fact, I'm positive three of them wouldn't care. Maybe something after a win is alright, but not what he did. What he did would never be considered appropriate. I think he was upset he wasn't wrestling Fryman, but he'll get his shot later in the season. I wonder if Fryman will react!?
