A loss is a loss. The Happy Valley game they should have won but missed 2 free throws at the end of the 4th quarter. What if's and playing close does not cut it. I know the Freshman are playing good and have just 2 losses. So maybe the basketball future looks bright because their money sport is on the way down.

Records don't show everything???? Your record shows if you are good, bad or average. Do not get me started on football because when you start taking up for the football program you must not watch the games. I do dislike certain parts of the football program because certain parts let the kids down. I have nothing against the basketball program boys or girls I just say what I see and how they play.

A 6-10 record I did not know that was above average. I have said nothing bad about the kids. You were the one that said you were tired of watching them. I believe you said the football team was good also and I was proven 100% right on that. I speak the truth and have never said anything but that in my posts. A lot of people get upset because I do not sugar coat anything about EHS athletics but someone needs to step up and tell the truth because the coaches are in fantasy land. The Arby's Classic proved that basketball in this area is below average so I stand by my statements. True I am a football guy but results are results.

I have to reply to some things said. CB 4-life said if Weems was coach last year they would have won the state. You will not win the state when you cannot shoot from the outside. This year EHS girls have a good record but they have won a lot of close games and you only get so many of them wins so they need to play better or they will be upset in the tournament. CoachSH said football will come around??? No it will not look at the sidelines and some of the people who are there and look at their commentment to their jobs and you will get another 5-5 record in 2006. EHS boys this year are just a below average team they have their moments but they have a lot of bad moments also. Baseball has yet to play a game so who knows maybe they will be a decent team. Why can't the baseball team practice at Joe O' Brien field? I think that is bad on the city or park and rec department because the high school should be able to use the field and the Twins do not come to town until 3 or 4 weeks after high school baseball is over. I hope the new baseball coach rips this topic in the paper because the only way you get anything done in this town is to bring it out in public because if you go and talk to the ones over the Twins or field you will get filled full of crap.

Nothing will change. It is the buddy system and no matter what you do you will be taken care of. They can ha! ha! and cut up all the way to a lot more losing seasons. They have the yes men in place and EHS football is a lot closer to be like Sullivan Central than Tennessee High. I am disgusted with them and I am through with listening and putting up with their crap.

That is the way to be an adult coach. Get on GLee because he tells the truth. You are the one that cannot stand it and for you to get on here and run your mouth is a disgrace. The adults are in charge but with strong leadership you would be gone up the creek were you came from. A 5-6 record is not something to brag about and improvements are needed in offense, defense and SPECIAL TEAMS. I do not understand the drag committ but print this and put it in the coaches office. If Pless gets the AD job, you and a couple of others will be in trouble because not everyone is nice like Pless and they will run your butts off.

I went and saw Maryville play West and that was a beating. When you win 29 games in a row and untelling how many before that you don't beat them you get beat. Move the game to Saturday at the last minute that was the only reason West beat them in 03. They are good and make clutch plays. In 98 Elizabethton needed one first down and they would have won they did not get it and Maryville won. Elizabethton fans blamed it on the ref's saying the guy stepped out of bounds but the whistle never blew so the guy kept running and I know they have pulled a few out against Central. Do not be like some are (whinning babies as fans) just give Maryville credit do not be jealous because they remind every 4a team of everything they are never going to be. Facts are Facts

Can Coalfield pass? If not then we might see 4 passes the whole night. Harriman had their chances but could not get into the endzone. The officals at the Hampton game were awful both ways. Hampton breaks the huddle with 12 guys Townsend runs off the field with the side ref watching him no flag. The TSSAA should be ashamed having officals that bad in a playoff game. I saw Birkner their supervisor at the game hopefully he turned a bad report on these guys because they were a disgrace to the game.

I have read the Bible and I am sorry I meant reap not weep I got in a hurry but everyone knows what I meant. Watching some of the coaching decisions makes people weep. About the love and torrerence remark, I do not want them tar and feathered they get paid to coach and they are not very good at it so they should be replaced like everyone that is employed knows if you are bad at your job you get fired or demoted. The coaches know I think they are bad and I tell anyone that will listen and back it up with facts and I added a lot of facts this season. If I bash someone I leave the message on here and I do not erase my stuff. GLee used to think and probably still does think that I am a buffoon and he use to argue with me about the coaches a lot but now he has seen the light and is making more sense and yes his son got treated very badly from the East game on and the other players did also. If you go back I never said anything bad about the head coach until they did what they did at East. When that happened I learned they had no head coach and I know his help is bad so I spoke my mind and I think they need atleast 3 new coaches probably 6 but I know you have to have teaching openings. Atleast 81 and GLee say what they think. There where a lot of fans at the Boone game that said under there breath that EHS is badly coached but then went up to the coaches and said good job this season. "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor" Exodus 20:16. That was for you 22.

I agree with Cyclone81 and GLee. I have been saying the same things for 2 years and some people on here bashed me. How do you get beat by a team that cannot pass just watch the game film last night and you will see and it was just a tiny bit the players fault but the adults will not admit that. The coaches rewarded players that left them hanging in midseason and like it says in the Bible "you weep what you sow" If they are no changes next season then the Elizabethton School System should be arrested for robbery because they will be stealing everyone's money that comes and watches the kids play because the adults screw everything up and they are getting paid. It takes commintment and sometimes there are things that you have to miss to be a coach. I do not think they are any football coaches at the high school that have that drive they just play grab butt and ha! ha! and they finally have been exposed. I see a West-South 3rd round matchup.

I am about done this year but my earlier post on this subject is correct. I said EHS would burn timeouts they needed and they did just that. Will they ever learn?

My point is the last part of their schedule was weak. Another point about the playoffs I disagree with region 1 vs 2 the first 3 rounds. Region 3 has the two best teams in the state 4a (Maryville & Knox Central) and I am sure region 4 has some good teams so when you make them beat each other in the first round or 2 and then some team that is worse makes the semi's that is wrong. Case in point last year TN High got destroyed in the 4th round by Maryville and Knox Central gets beat in the 3rd round late in the 4th on a trick play. So TN High says they made the final 4 and Knox Central would have beaten them by 25. True playoffs you would play everyone in the tourney. How it is set up now it is a region playoff the first 3 rounds and some regions are bad. If West is as strong as they sound then they will make the 4th round this year.

Elizabethton is on a roll because they beat East, Unicoi, Central and Johnson County. The same thing happens every year Elizabethton gets beat at the first of the season then they play cupcake city and win. Elizabethton got thumped by Greeneville and Greenville finished 5th in region 2. So before people say EHS is on a roll look at who they have played lately. I think just 2 teams from each region should make the playoffs because now people get rewarded for having bad years.

You never know when I might pop up on here. Yes if they lose anymore students then they can forget athletics in 4a. Back in the late 80's early 90's there was 900-1000 students at the high school but not now. Who knows what will happen next election but whomever gets elected needs to remember the students come first not some grudge they have held against someone for a decade and then lie and say it is best for the system.

I think Boone will win because EHS coaches will screw up something or waste a needed timeout that will come back and bite them. As you know I have been harping on this subject for years, so now I am thinking if they underachieve really bad like this year they will be some changes made. I am probably wrong because they have yes men in place and they can ha! ha! and be all buddy buddy because the coaches will not rock the boat. This boat needs rocked because it is sinking really fast. Like I said before when I saw what happened during the first quarter of the East game I turned on them. Everyone involved in that decision should be let go when this season ends. I do not want to hear the coaches lies,alibies or excuses.

EHS has beaten Unicoi (0-10) Central (1-9) North (5-5) (East 5-5) and Johnson County (6-4). In the South game EHS should have won but didn't. They looked like they were finally getting things together but then comes the East game and it goes back to the same ole same ole and it is 100% the coaches who goofed the team up. The ones that follow the program know what I am talking about. There is no excuse for the decision that was made and the coaches who made the decision can talk to they are blue in the face and still no one will believe them. So I feel for the players but the coaches deserve to lose and I will take Boone 20-13.

So if East wins then somebody will be playing on Thursday or Saturday night because West will get the field on Friday.

Who knows what EHS will do. They might play good then they will do something stupid and it probably will not be the players fault but that is the system they have been stuck in. Who ever loses this game will get thumped by West. I do not see how a team that can only run can beat you but I have seen it before and if it happens Thursday night I will be on here testifying and I will call out the names of the adults. I say Eliz 19-12.

True and Hampton is going to find that out in 1a. Hampton has a good team and they would have done good in 2a this year but the only team they have played is Johnson County and the rest of the teams have been awful. Same thing happened to Cloudland a few years ago they blew thru bad teams and was 10-0 and CAK with a 7-3 or 6-4 record that year beat Cloudland because they played better teams and got better and Cloudland had it made all season.

Maryville beat EHS in 97 and 98 but in 97 they got killed by Pearl Cohn and John Henderson in the finals so I do not think EHS would have won that year either. In 99 Knox Central beat EHS and they did not win the state either. They would have a better chance in 3a true but there is no promises that they would have won anything. Knox Fulton would have beaten them last year and in the late 90's I am sure there was some team around Knoxville that would have gave them a game.

Yes they won but I have now turned on Pless the coach. Why put in your backup coming off suspension QB in the game? When I saw him go in I said they deserve to lose every game. I know people deserve 2nd chances but he has had 3 or 4 chances. Let him play another position or put him in at qb in a blow out. Also in the 2nd half East had 2 plays and Van Huss panicked and called timeout. First of all the head coach should be the one calling timeouts and also way to stay calm Van Huss if it was a close game you would have flipped out. If the game got close and EHS needed another timeout like last week then letting your assistant coaches act like head coaches will get you beat. Pless needs to be a Head coach not just the title head coach. I guess they will make the playoffs and play Boone. GLee your son got (you know) and it was wrong and the people in the stands booed and yelled at the sidelines when the change happened. It is time for the administration to step in a clean house. That is the truth no matter how far up EHS athletics butts you are.
