First off the SC game meant nothing to Sycamore all it was was a record preserver and a moral boost. If Sycamore would have lost they would be in the same situation just with an extra loss. I wasn't at the game but I doubt he played his usual minutes, plus noone,with the exception of Lohin, stepped up in that game. The other MVP candidate Jake West only scored 9 points so neither performed at their usual MVP level. As for Lohin, he isn't in the mix this year but he is only a junior. Next year he will be the leader of that team in almost all categories guaranteed. He will probably be one of the forerunners for the MVP award.

I've got an idea since 12aa is so high and mighty lets just give our MVP to one of those guys since none of our teams will make it out. Just give our trophy to the runner up of their district's MVP race. Will make a nice lawn ornament or toilet paper holder for one of them. But otherwise how can it be possible to give the district MVP trophy to a player whose team is 4-10 in district play, heck I'm looking for an award in that case. If you play that kind of defense and lose to that high powered fairview squad. How can you even think about MVP??

I never said sycamore is a lock for state thats only a wishful thought. But oh well at least waverly can save the gas money traveling to stewart and think about the english classes and next year. The only thing funnier than Sycamore, Harpeth and Stewart being weak is your use of english and grammar skills. Love the smileys though keep'em coming. I love how Waverly fans have already accepted their fate and have turned their backs on their own district. I know last year when Waverly played Giles in the regionals, there were plenty of Sycamore fans their supporting them, me being one. HAHA Waverly having an MVP candidate this year?! That is hilarious....DJ Reid scoring 16 points a game is pretty good, but what about Jesse Moulton's 20 plus points a game? Oh, did I mention that his team are the regular season district champs? Jake West is a good choice, but an MVP caliber player should show up in the big games. By what I hear, West was nonexistent in both Harpeth games. So the leg up would have to go to Mr. Jesse Moulton. But as many of you already know he and sycamore are highly overrated and very lucky. They'll be lucky to even keep it close to mont cent. so maybe Cody Dunn should get it since they have the game in the bag.

Oh I agree whole heartedly in order for sycamore to do anything in districts nad especially regionals they are going to have to have all their players play to their fullest potential. Moulton, Lohin, Bullard, Kinman, Scott, and Forbes are all offensive threats to keep an eye on. Because if one is having an off night the others step up i.e stewart county game.

just wanna let u kno that Sycamore beat Cheatham in the championship two years ago and not harpeth and my point to the whole post was that Sycamore has swept Mont. Cent this season so why not count them in as well on the third times a charm logic.

With your third times a charm logic you have stuck with on many threads Mont. Central and Fairview will be in the 'ship. But who knows, Sycamore is way overrated and have been far to lucky as of late. Anybody can win 16 in a row, it takes skill for that 17th victory.

Didn't think anyone would take me serious on that one. Of course Waverly should win they have only been around about 5 times longer than Sycamore. Sycamore has only graduated four classes. Although there have been good players, its hard to pick 5 players out of a group of a couple hundred against waverly's five out of many thousands of players. And when did the TSSAA turn into a rap label, T$$AA??????

This thread would hold water if we were talking about professional basketball where it is more likely that the same team would have the same players(or same coaches for that matter) in consecutive years. But sadly this is actually high school basketball people graduate, quit the team, drop out, etc. No matter how great and all powerful last years waverly team was, they are just that last years team. Sycamore this still holds a better chance at winning the title than last years waverly team, (or even this years waverly team). Bolivar could be better than Sycamore but still nothing can be said until they meet. Upsets can happen, and are not a rare occurence. Papatiger you make no sense in your reason for comparison of these two teams. Just because a team from the year before was "better" than a team this year, they can't win???? The 03-04 Giles Co. team was better than the 04-05 Bolivar team yet bolivar still won in their year. It is actually kind of hypocritical as to how you can say waverly can beat either Harpeth or Sycamore, yet neither of these teams even stand a chance against bolivar???

Well I think that the alltime all star team of sycamore could beat the allstar team of waverly. Prolly win by 6 or maybe 7. Logan Pierce would have a double double. So .Who cares really?? What is up with you Waverly kids, do you not know how to fully read and understand a post?? I never said Sycamore is "goina" beat Bolivar. I merely was mentioning their past meeting. I even kept the fact that it was only a possibility, the way you interpret it I've bought tickets and have started camping out outside the gym. And why does everybody bring up Waverly of last year??? Did I miss a memo of the old team coming back and playing in the tournament?? Oh well, at least Sycamore will have the opportunity to get beat by bolivar.

Actually for most of the first half harpeth was shooting lights out no matter where or what they threw up. But in the second half Sycamore moved out of their zone and played man limiting harpeth's perimeter looks. Not to mention the fact that Most Valua.. I mean Jesse Moulton came out blazin. But you really can't even say Harpeth slacked off on D because Jesse was puttin them up with guys in his face.

I, personally, wish the regions had not reorganized so Sycamore could get another shot at a now Tyler Smiffless Giles Co. team. Oh well at least now we can entertain a possible Sycamore/Bolivar rematch. The last time these two met Bolivar won but by the smallest margin of victory they had on their way to the championship.
